- Just a small tip that may help you reach gold or complete the S-10 license test. This may very well help you complete other tests too. The driving experience with this car and track with these conditions is insane. Using the aids I mentioned here completed tamed the experience for me. Driving the way I did in this video would have led to spins without the assists on.

You did one like an absolute pro. I'm confident in my skills in the series and don't really need assists. Out of my 24 years play this series this one about nearly broke me. It was worse than the S test with the Miata in Gran Turismo 3. It came to a point I didn't even feel bad about turning on assists.
The track seems to look VERY different now! Phenomenal work though....really impressive. A few amazing saves too.
I dont know why i'm watching this, but I got this in about 40 tries with a controller without TCS in 2:25:777. Hardest license test I have done since gran turismo 3. It was so hard, but it was so nice to finally finish it! Well done to you for finding a great method!

Not sure if they've made it harder, but the very first corner once you get on the straight anything over quarter throttle instant spin out. Not even joking, im wheelspinning for 600-800m whilst in 2nd gear, assists on

This test was an absolute bastard. I finally got it done without a single millisecond to spare - hit the gold target time exactly 😂
I didn't use assists, but what did help was changing the camera to behind the car. Normally I use the in-car camera, but switching to behind the car made it easier to to see where the dry part of the track ahead was.

I’m a no assists guy. But at the end of the day it’s a game and many real life racing series use some combo of abs / TCS. A really well set up TCS will often make you faster in real life, though it does tend to limit your ceiling in GT. I’ve always suspected the twitchy low grip cars in GT are twitchier and loss grippy than their real life counterparts at times.
Yeah, not sure if this car had TC and/or ABS. I struggled with this for maybe an hour or less, which is weird.
I found the rally ones MUCH more frustrating because they had some kind of a jump in the end and you usually crash into the wall after the fall.
There are some cars in GT7 that don’t let you turn ABS off, like the Porsche 917 that you are using in this test.
Did they update the license. I can swear that its harder now since (in the first corner) you have more water now

Damn, I was sitting here for a good 2 hours fiddling with TCS but in the end your tip with the strong countersteer setting helped me Shave off 8 seconds on the first go and another 2.5 seconds on my third finish, giving me the gold time!
This test is horrendous. As a new to PS5 and GT7 player on controller, I struggled forever just to get bronze, once I saw the requirements for gold, I closed the game out. To make things worse, I see there are Master licenses to complete, I honestly dont know if I want these licenses that bad lol.
I'm going to continue struggling because I know that car in real life had no assists. 😅
Genuinely I have to thank you for this. Turning the assists on to the same as you, 1st Run was a PB and .200 away from the gold with a few mess ups that I could think of.
2nd complete lap using that ghost I smashed the gold.

I would love to see an updated track run with the current track as of 6-24-24 lol. It would be a much different outcome forsure. It’s most definitely ice in some areas now. You can see the white frost over the track if you pay attention to the replays or stay on the screen long enough.
Thanks for the vid. Looks like S10 is the exception where the assists make you go faster. In IA-10, probably the second most difficult test in GT7, I could never get near to the Gold time with the TC on just 1. And if using the Dual Sense controller, even with TC off, the steering sensitivity has to be bumped up to 10 to get that AMG flowing with the turns in 4th gear mostly to retain enough speed. With TCS 1 and the default steering sensitivity, you're forced in to braking earlier and using 3rd gear for most of the run just so you don't go off track. So far, I've Golded up to S-9. I've yet to try S10. I guess I'll follow your advice regarding the assists.
Judging by the way your analyze and talk about your drive, I am pretty confident you can make gold for S-10 after some tries. I'm a controller player using pad acceleration, and I passed S-10 after 25-35 tries (inclusive of dozens of disqualified run / restart and just 4-5 complete runs). I suggest you switch on the demo ghost to follow it through the dry line so you don't have to waste time remembering the dry patches. All that it leaves is for you to accumulate the skills and experience needed to get through. The S-10 test is honestly do-able if you have the skills to gold everything on the way. What is harder is actually the Nurburgring North circuit experience, which I only managed a gold after 100s of gold runs on the sectors and 30 or so attempts on the full lap. I thought that was hard enough, but I now realize the drift missions are worse...

@@dank-dave S-10 should be doable if you can gold every other license and follow the suggestions in my last comment. For Nurburgring, I suggest that you try to gold every section at least 3 times and with about 0.5 to 1 second margin. It's only when you master the sectors (especially the first and the later few parts) that you would start to have a reasonable chance of making the cut. Car racing is about consistency and to do so requires that you first know where you can go fast and where you cannot on a track, and then where you are slower than the sector ghost and where you are approaching too fast. Once you are consistent enough, then a gold time is within reach even on a bad day.
@@stormmeansnowork I got s-10 gold now I’m just going for the Nurburgring hot lap got it down to 3 seconds earlier. Staying consistent the entire time on controller is difficult for me but I’m sure I can get it soon.
Can’t even get bronze, get all the way around and the last chicane gets me every time, even at no speed it just slides off the track like it’s on ice.
Finally got gold. Over 30 tries before I cranked all assist on and got it on my 3rd try. Thanks dude

Did this last night. If you have no assists burn a lap to know where the grip points are. Then do your lap. I did a 2:29 with no assists. Maybe some day when I'm feeling brave I'll go for gold on the 6 s license tests remaining lol
The rest of the S licenses are fairly easy golds if you know the tracks well enough. You'll get them quick if you can do this (S10)

With countersteer off you even look at those kerbs the wrong way you get sent.
My advice for all license test gold medals - turn on the demo ghost and set it .5 seconds ahead of you so you can gauge how far off you are.
Its fukking hopeless. Me and my brother tried it like 100 times.
I don’t understand what’s going on with my test. I immediately break traction and lose the rear end while accelerating, and immediate spin once I apply brakes. If I am REAL light with both throttle and brake application I can make it, but the lap is taking too long. I’m using a controller and not a wheel.

I hope you see this can you try this again as the time has been brought down to a 2:25 and there is a lot more water on the track now i found it so much harder now than it was a year ago my best is a 2:20.9 but now its scraping in at a 2:24.842 with the new gold time its crazy different great video

It took me like 50 Try’s to do this because on the first corner the car would loose control and do a 180 and it the wall every time

Mate I happen to be working on an S-7 guide today and it should be up in just a couple hours. Keep an eye out for it, I hope it can help! (Quick tip, you can use nitro on S-7 for a slight boost on the straights)

Ok usually I only have one click of TC at maximum. Might try this. I heard, that countersteer assist is often very intrusive. didn't even think about using it.
This is the worst test I've ever done in a GT game... I still can't get gold for losing 20mph or running off track due to water.
Worst GT game I've ever played.
And my soul just died, still struggling with this one and with gold in the others even with assist on. Oy. >_

All the videos I see on this test are all in decent light. Every time I've tried the test, almost pitch black and I really can't find the edge of the dry wet areas.
S-10 is on par with IA-15 on GT4 in terms of difficulty

Hey. I've never really been a racing game guy, but have been playing GT7 with a controller the last few days on PS5. I just moved to a large house and have gotten myself a big desk and one of those G9 Neo monitors from Samsung. It would be perfect to attach (?) a wheel to the desk. I have gotten a gaming chair as well. Is this how most of you enthusiasts play? It feels kind of tempting if I am able to do it properly.
That's how more casual or novice racers like myself play. It's a tried and tested system that is as accommodating as it is simple. Not everyone has or even needs a rig. I still use my G29 on my desk!

The only assist I use is ABS and helped me get a 1:21.791
Not sure how I did it, but one time I got air at the top of the hill. Pretty wild seeing the front end come up like that.
Yes I've had it happen a few times too, it happened to me when I carried too much speed up there or hit the inside kerb too much I think
so you dont use the controller but you prefer the steering
I use no assistance lol never tried to. I've done all the test hundreds and hundreds of times until I hit gold. Don't know why I take it so serious. Maybe it's for the gift car you get only if you get gold lol

How? I touch a curb and I’m off touch the wet stuff and I’m off, that is nuts…. Also, at 0,05 your clearly over the white line, I do that and it’s, start again..
2:00 I would have never gotten away with this without countersteer assist
I turnt it off and was .5 seconds faster on licences less then a minute long....
You play wheel. Counter steer assist needs to be off on controller
It’s hard to believe that I watched the same test, doesn’t matter how careful I was with some assist, there is no way I could get the engine revving like that in many spots, and the traction was still terrible. I eventually got Bronze, I just don’t understand.

Is this on PS4? because on PS5 theres alot more water on the track specifically after that first corner not enough room for the car.
