  • My guest on the podcast today is Peter Park. Peter is the physical trainer of some of the sport's top riders like Chase Sexton, Levi Kitchen and Tom Vialle. While he has some of the best Supercross athletes in the world, he also trains quote-unquote “normal” people out of his gym in Santa Barbra. He has years of experience with athletes from Lance Armstrong to high level CEO’s and has lived an awesome life all following his passion of training and movement.

    So hang on, are you saying you're turning your feet in to grip (as opposed to gripping with your knees)? Or am I picking that up wrong?

    • @hello-dirt
      @hello-dirt Před 24 dny +1

      I had the same question and I am assuming the same thing: more feet, less knees.

    • @srt4driver181
      @srt4driver181 Před 24 dny +7

      If you stand up and go shoulder width apart. Turn your toes in and out pivoting off your heals and your knees naturally follow. Turn the toes in and the knees go closer together

    • @Leland387
      @Leland387 Před 24 dny +1

      Yes it makes you grip the bike better naturally without having constant pressure just with your knees. Turning your toes in creates that naturally.

      @@srt4driver181 Gotcha. So similar technique to the one used on street/road bikes.
      I assume it's one of those things that takes a few hours of riding to get used to before becoming muscle memory, right?

    • @kingGar27
      @kingGar27 Před 24 dny

      @@hello-dirt based on what @srt4driver181 is saying, by turning your feet inwards, your knees naturally follow.

      Off road in general I would say. In the woods, keeping the toes in helps prevent having them ripped off the pegs, brings the knees into the bike and allows you to work your arms/ hands less. This is how it’s always been.
