When one listens to these politicians , you get to understand why Nigeria is in dire straights ! There are 360 elected individuals that make up the House of Representatives and according to this man , each is required by law to have at least 70 million naira in cash to facilitate their respective campaigns. Multiply 70,000,000 by 360 ! . That is the amount and more stashed away in their houses. The Senators in the House of Assembly are not left out as well. There are 109 of them. They also need their monies in cash as well. I forgot to mention the Governors as well. How can one justify having that total sum stashed away in people's homes ?... They are the reason why the economy is never working or improving. Nigeria 🇳🇬 is too rich to have poor citizens!.. What a pity !

I'm beginning to love Buhari so much for this move, and his stance afterwards. He is really leaving a legacy that he'll be remembered with, by this generation - AS LONG AS HE DOES NOT CAVE IN TO THE PRESSURES OF THESE EVIL PEOPLE.
He's smart cos if he had done this ealier, all these crooks would have looked for ways to impeach him (he has not done so well in other areas though).
This man is giving a faulty reasoning; asking if the president expects common people to have account with the CBN doesn't hold in this case cos CBN never said that one must have account with them before depositing their cash. CBN governor only said that people should bring the cash and they'll help them to deposit into their individual banks.
How much do the 'common people' have? Majority if these 'common people' have already deposited all their old cash in banks. So I see no good reason why they're still on this issue if not because as he said.. they need the "millions of cash each for their elections". And you see them inciting the illiterate and uneducated to fo out and cause problems in the name of protests.

70 million for campaign not for the election and the 70 million is not in cash sir.. The campaigns have been on for months now Mr. Doguwa. The party agents are to be paid if need be by the party not the candidate and they should not be unbanked individuals.
The cashless policy has been on for almost 10 years now. Your agents should be paid by bank transfer, after all, they are supposed to be agents in their own vicinity so they do not need to take transport on the election day!
