- Have you ever got the BFG 9000 in Doom and wished every gun was as insanely fun? Russian Overkill is a Doom mod that grants that wish and then straps it to a rocket, you are not prepared.

i died like a couple thousand times because i play on the "license to kill" difficulty
its unbeatable without save scumming because you oneshot everything and get oneshotted by everything
even hitscan and damaging floors.

There's a video where somebody uses some kind of inventory-based airstrike thing on Nuts. The bomb looks like a Doom rocket, only black and about 10 times bigger. And it plays the music from Apocalypse Now as it drops!
This mod goes hand-in-hand with Colourful Hell and a slaughter map, you got extremely powerful weapons versus insanely unfair enemies.
When Doomguy brought out two extra arms just to hold all those shotguns I lost it.

Check out Hexa, he pistol starts entire wads with Complex and LCA, and he's a really funny dude. I have some Doom vids too but I use subtitles instead of talking lel.

you know that gun you said was weak? Well, thats actually one of my favorite guns. I have my buttons set so if i press "R", it will switch modes on certain guns. That gun in particular can fire bullets that shoot bullets, and has a mode that can hitscan. Yes, you are missing a lot on this mod.

I tried to run Nuts, Ketchup (Gore from Brual Doom), Russian Overkill and Doom Metal.
Then my computer explodes
I did this before. SPECFUCKINGTACTULAR, is all I can say.
The must-play was with this is holyhell.wad and Ketchup. Whenever I have a bad day I fire this combo up and the anger turns to joy

I've actually been using this mod myself, and I can honestly say it's my favorite Doom weapon mod to date. I've been using it to play through Doom 1's episodes, and even Thy Flesh Consumed on Russian Overkill's version of Ultra Violence is insanely easy.
But what you said is true, this isn't a mod to play for the challenge, this one is best used when you've had a stressful day and you just wanna let it all out.

I think CZcams forgot to display the full 1,000,000 subscrivers that you deserve.
The problem is that when people get to 1m they become distant. They may still make the same, good content but they become distant to their subs, most likley subconciously

+ICARUSLIV3S Some tips, if the health shows tiny, use "hud_scale true" in the console. It'll make it show up big in all resolutions. Also, if you want to know what the name of all the weapons are, set "Display Nametags" to "Both" in Options -> HUD Options.

Someone may already have mentioned this, but 4:12 is from Dark Forces.
The weapon at 4:30 is actually from Star Wars: Dark Forces, a 1995 game very similar to DOOM :) I think it was called the mortar gun or something like that. Launched mortars, as the name might imply.
Demons are just asking to leave...it´s a massacre and they are done. Chemical strong farts, atomic cows, gatling gun that fires small jet planes that explode on contact, a quad barrel shotgun, oh better a 16 barrel super shotgun... Doomguy makes hords and hords of demons to run like hell :D
This mod can actually give a challenge on the later difficulties. There is also a difficulty option where every gun is BFG and the biggest struggle is to survive the power of the guns themselves.
Another of PillowBlaster's great mods. I never get tired of this guy's mods :D
Now we know how powerful monsters on clusterfuck really are by playing this.

So I watched another video of this mod, and I commented like, "huh, this kind of reminds me of Liero." But then I got here and saw that you had an autocannon which shoots tiny planes that drop bombs, which is EXACTLY like the larpa from Liero, so I'm thinking it may have had more than a passing bit of inspiration.

I remember playing Plutonia Experiment with this, it was alot of fun in the second to hardest difficulty in the mod, blowing through hordes of enemies with insanely overpowered, believe it or not though, MAP11 - Hunted was still paranoia inducing in spite of the badass arsenal though, because even when you have badass weapons, Arch-Viles are still goddamn scary..
You can tell this modder loves both the Command & Conquer franchise and the Dark Forces Saga with some of the visual and audio assets such as the gun at 4:43 being ripped from Dark Forces or how the Planet Cracker is literally Renegades Handheld Ion Cannon.
I love that the game says the player outsmarted himself if you accidentially suicide...

Would love to see a revisit of this mod. There is so much more to show about it, also some of the weapons were taken from Command and Conquer Renegade, like the tank cannon.
I think the most tame mod Pillow Blaster has made is the TrailBlazer.

Just played through the okuplok slaughter map with this. It's honestly so overkill it makes one of the hardest slaughter maps ever made a complete pushover. Next up; Holy hell
This + Colorful Hell + Maps of Chaos is my complete fave currently. They somehow balance out.

My first exposure to this was in combination with the Holy Hell map. It's a match of peanut butter and chocolate: a huge arsenal of over the top destruction with a map actually big and insane enough to warrant using just about all of it.

That's my first Mafia City ad I've seen in a long time.
One of my all-time favs. A single use of the hindenberg beacon item can kill over 7000 of the roughly 11000 monsters on Nuts.wad if used in the center. That should give you an idea of the sort of power you're working with here.
I'm pretty sure NUTS.WAD has around 100,000 monsters, not 11000. I could be wrong but I know it's a lot higher than 11000.

I love this mod. It is the ultimate stress-killer. Testosterone- fueled total annihilation. Makes me want to pump some massive iron and inject anabolic steroids into my eyes. Then I will drink a bottle of vodka while crushing a pinkie demons skull in my other hand of course. My favorite weapon in Russian overkill is the automatic shotgun with the shell-belt. Amazing video dude. Great job.
These guns would be fun to use on that one custom map which has shitloads of enemies.

one of the best mods i've ever downloaded. would highly recommend to anyone just stumbling upon this (be warned: some of the super weapons have a pretty great chance of crashing the program if your computer isn't very powerful)

The sound that plays when charging up the fart attack is the yamato cannon sound from SCII. Genius. :-)

The best way to enjoy Russian Overkill...
Get a set of slaugther maps, load it together with Russian Overkill, enable Infinite Ammo from settings, use IDFA/IDKFA and goto town.
