Had a feeling that this loco would show up on Michael’s layout sooner or later since it came out 😉

I bought mine about a month ago, i got number 1057 since irl its at the south simcoe railway in Tottenham Ontario and ive seen her in person, its my favorite engine in my actually decently large collection including a rapido royal hudson, though its mostly just bias because ive seen the real thing. Love your vids btw

Finally a new train video and it looks amazing. Are you gonna compare this to bachmanns ten wheeler in your channel Mike?

Probably not, since they're at such different price points (and I need to take this one back to the shop soon), but I do have a couple of videos in the works for my channel as well.

I agree that the wheel squeal is annoying, but it's easy to turn off.

Yep - if I bought one of these, I'd definitely turn it off.

Man I love to come to my local hobby store to browse stuff in the model railroad section and I also acquired a 40 45 ish year old Canadian national diesel locomotive and it appears to be missing some sort off conductor bands for two of its front wheels that I got for about a $100 CAD and I’m wondering if anyone could help me find out the value of the Canadian national diesel locomotive that I got

Michael, thank you for the introduction. I purchased the D10. It had to be sent in for repair newly opened. Frustrated, i so wanted the engine in my hot little hands, that i ordered another engine which i also was told to return for repair. As with you, i had this on order for three years. So i was very disappointed. Being associated with a dealer, perhaps you can tell me how long it will take before i hear from them and have the engines back in my hands.

That's a shame. We had the same issue with the first Royal Hudson we tried to review - shortly after I started test running it, the motor started acting up and we had to send it back. Unfortunately, I'm not in the loop on how we deal with warranty stuff, and I don't recall how long it took us to get it replaced. Rapido's customer service is generally decent, but they are a small company, so it will probably depend on how busy their repair department is.

Unfortunately, I had a similar experience. My long-awaited model arrived with the headlight improperly installed and I had to return it (at my own expense). Rapido advises that the units are being returned to its factory in China for repair and to expect a wait of several months. After 18 years as a customer, I can't say this experience has boosted my confidence in the company's quality control.

Hello again....got my models back and all seems to be well! But i most certainly to agree with you concerning the brake squeal. Can you tell me how to shut it off....and where might i find a listing of the CVs for this engine. The manual has some....but others might be helpful. Thanks so much for any help.

@@bobkaplan7054 I believe it's an ESU LokSound V5 decoder, so you should be able to find a full CV list on ESU's website.

Is it true that Broadway Limited Trains are Crap ? So many videos on problems people are having

For me, they are a hit/miss.
The only problem I have had was a Paragon 2 decoder going all wonky on me, and I'm not a fan of the sound quality of Paragon 3, unless you get a very specific model (N&W A class, Reading T1, etc) and not a generic steam wheel arrangement. I can't say anything about their diesel line.
Their Paragon 4, in my experience, is definitely an improvement in terms of sound quality and adding in a "keep-alive" capacitor was a great addition.
      Overall, your mileage may vary

I wouldn't say they're entirely crap - if you get a good one, they're very nice (although their sound decoders aren't that great). However, they do seem to have a fairly high rate of defective units. I would only buy one if I could test run it first.
