    It took almost 7 minutes to get to the actual tutorial 😧 so if you know kind of what your doing regularly skip to 7 minutes

    I have been looking for a new way to cull, your video was very helpful! Thanks!

    Just purchased PM this week. Your video was very helpful, especially the ideas around creating the initial EDIT and DELETE folders. I shot a ton of photos at sporting events and it can take me days just to import into LR and build previews. Using LR to cull the images and then only import the keepers will help me substantially. Thanks for your post.

    Emily, this is excellent information; however, can you please public a simple 2-minute video that JUST talks about how to upload, label, and off load photos from Photo Mechanic. Most people coming here know what PM is used for so that information isn't useful. Just saying this because all the extra information is not pertinent to folks who just want to know how to work PM. I DID learn a lot after I watched the entire thing, and I have to be honest, I had to skip through a lot. Thank you for taking the time to do it. It seems like you put a lot of work into this video. :-)

    Thanks for the time and effort. I would highly recommend to "get to the point" rather than talk about personal preferences as that used over 10 min. Most people lose interest.

    Thank you for showing us your work flow. I'm new user to Photo Mechanic and just wanted to point out there some other good videos that cover the ingestion of pictures. It includes loading pictures to to your hard drive and sending copies to other sources that would help eliminate some of the manual steps taken in this video. Just wanted to throw that out there. It should save even more time.

      @shuttlemanfl Před 7 lety

      +OliviaF check out the videos at the photo mechanic website. I know it is overwhelming and Im still in that position. I just havent had any time to walk back through it all. There were some other videos I found once that were really good but I cant find a link. If I come across them I will shoot you a note.

    Hi Emily, is it possible to do a slideshow and tag the photos at the same time in PM? I'm asking this because when I had Breeze Browser you could do that so you didn't have do anything other than arrow buttons to tag or untag, basically never looked at my keyboard for nothing. ..It was incredibly fast

  • @marliesdekkerfotografie1749

    thanks for the vid.. is it true that the rates are lost when you shut down the pc? and can you give a picture two labels? (for example one for the total selection and one other for the blog?

    • @emilysacra3262
      @emilysacra3262  Před 7 lety +1

      I wish I had the perfect answer for this! Sometimes my rates will still be there when I close the program, and sometimes they'll be gone. I'm not exactly sure why that happens! I just make sure I always cull the whole wedding in one sitting. You can rate something twice - once with a color label and once with a star label!

  • @skyiswomb1

    May I ask what cloud storage you use?

  • @amiramaxwell
    @amiramaxwell Před 7 lety +1

    when you export from lightroom, where do you save them? back in the "move to external" folder, but in a subfolder?

    • @emilysacra3262
      @emilysacra3262  Před 7 lety

      I just export them to my Desktop, so they're easy to find! Once the gallery has been delivered to the client, and the photos have been blogged, I put them into another folder (I categorize folders by month / year).

  • @MaryamMorrison
    @MaryamMorrison Před 7 lety +1

    Thanks for the video! You mentioned that you move your images once a month from Move To External folder to your external hard drive. Doesn't that make the photos missing in Lr because you moved them after you imported them? Thank you!

    • @emilysacra3262
      @emilysacra3262  Před 7 lety

      Yes! So right after I move them to an external hard drive, I go back into Lightroom and find the missing folder :)

  • @fioell1

    Just looked at your video on Photo Mechanic. Why do you then export to LR - why not edit in Photo Mechanic?

  • @MyMoneeTV
    @MyMoneeTV Před 7 lety

    When you import the images to LR do you Convert as DNG, Move, Add?

  • @lisahinzman2137
    @lisahinzman2137 Před 7 lety

    Just a friendly comment, you stated that Photo Mechanic doesn't store your images but Lightroom does. Lightroom does not store images, it just stores the data for the adjustments you made to the images. Hope that makes sense. (you do beautiful photography!)

    • @emilysacra3262
      @emilysacra3262  Před 7 lety

      You're absolutely right! While the photos themselves aren't stored in LR, as long as you don't move the original files you are able to edit/export the images. That's what I meant, but thanks for clearing that up for others if it was confusing! :)

    Hi Emily and thanks for the video, is great. Just wondering if you can edit or redo your video because every 3 seconds you say "aaaah" and it is really annoying and irritating to the ear to hear that thru the entire video. You are not the annoying one, is that sound that's killing your video. That's all. Thanks again.
