I remember that scene!! I thought the same thing when i would watch it many times years later like...what happened to the beach scene?? I think they made it disappear because it made people afraid to take their families to the beaches..i know i wouldn't take mine after seeing that scene!! lol

Cheers mate for filming the locations. One of the things that makes me love colours is the grittiness of east la. I especially love the opening credits with the song one time one night by Los Lobos. And l love the scene where the camera pans down from the city skyscrapers to the 21st street gang walking down the alley. “Two one homes”. I remember when the DVD came out l thought to myself that some scenes are missing compared to the vhs version l’m used too. Like when Pac-Man comes to pick up Maria and some young vatos (including the kid he sprayed in his face) start hassling him and scratches his car and when theres a Mexican/American guy at the beach with his wife and kids and gets stabbed because his not affiliated with a gang and when the scene before Sean starts to choke the guy saying “spit it out” you see the guy dealing and then swallows the drugs because the cops just drove in. I’m glad l download a uncut version off the pirate bay.
One memory that stands out about this film was when it released here in Australia on vhs. After that there were kids at school with Raiders caps. I was 13 at the time and l tried so hard to get one, but never could. This influencing also happened to some kids with the film Romper Stomper. I remember after that came out, some of the Greek kids at school started shaving there heads. I went to a very multicultural school, which l appreciate, because l learnt to judge a person by what they say and do. Not because of there race.
I forgot to mention that it’s a shame that the Jesus muriel has gone. I remember seeing that in Falling Down and Blood in Blood out, which was filmed in the similar locations.

    True Story:
Colors had came out when I was a year and a half old,I didn't turn two until June of that year. Anyway,my aunt and her boyfriend at the time wanted to see the movie but couldn't because they were both underage. Because of this, my grandmother had to take them and my mother was also curious about the film as well ,so she decided to tag along. Only one problem: They didn't have a babysitter for me,so they ended up taking me as well and to say the least we were the only civilians in the theater, compared to the hundreds of gangmembers that were in the audience. To make a long story short,Colors was one of those movies that stuck with me for the rest of my life and I get giddy every time I watch it.
