Nope, you can use the new Z1 turbos, a tune, stock air boxes with dry, high flow filters, and the 2.5" Speed Culture studios catback will get you to 600hp for around $5000.
I want the SCS catback on my M35 so bad. It sounds so good
You’re gonna run into fuel cuts to do it properly and reliable you will need fueling upgrades
Damn 5k is way too much. Laughs in bmw
@@Dbrizle1🤓🤓🤓
So I always wondered after this the does the reliability go down? Like the life of the engine/transmission are you going to be doing repairs much more frequently?
next video make a tutorial on how to take out a $11,000 loan without a down payment so I can afford it
Buy one from the auction
That's easy asf😂
7k$ 2018 q60 in copart 🤑
😂😂
@@JohnWick-wd9jkthink he means the parts not the car
I have a Q50 that I’m rebuilding from a salvage yard . I plan to do my own custom exhaust with down pipes, cold air intake and a tune to make it as fast as the Red Edtion
how's it going now ?
How’s the process?
All q50s with the vr30 make the same horsepower. Only difference with the red sport is the boost is a about 2psi more with the addition of an oil/trans cooler and big brakes
@myke1256 Also has 2 water pump
Boost is a bit more than 2 psi from silver sport to red sport. But the turbos are the same. Just speed sensors slapped on and improved heat management
I’ve seen a bunch of them blow at my shop but it’s the earlier model years. 2019+ seems to have gotten better about it.
You're exactly right. In 2018, they upgraded the housing for the turbos.
@@N1CKL337 I didn't know that!! How were they upgraded?
The pre-2018 model had turbo seal issues. It wasn't uncommon for them to need to be replaced after just 30k miles. After 2018, you rarely hear of the turbos going out. Very reminiscent of the galley gasket issue the early g37's had that was rectified in 2012, I believe.
@@N1CKL337 thank you for telling me about that!!! I keep telling people the newer VR is ok to get(turbo wise, engines is the).
And the gallery gasket problem was solved in 2013.
Like ANY engine, especially a turbocharged one, problems will always happen. And sometimes it can take a few years for the problem to be solved 🤷
So I shouldn’t worry about getting a 2021 3.0t?
Psstt! Tomei exhaust has better air flow 😉 BUT GOTTA GET THE Y pipe as well
and brakes!
Yeah make sure you get some head gaskets ready 😂😂😂
Are headgaskets a weak point on the Vr30?
Now do a parts you need when you blow a hole through the block
No seriously though I just blew my block and it’s a stock 2018 q50 79k miles😭I financed tho so I’m gon have to fix it I’m gonna get a newer block and instead of going crazy just keep it under 450hp should be plenty of fun and not too expensive to make reliable.
It’s a luxe by the way not a red sport😂either way aluminum blocks are garbage.
@@troy3223_ damn, that sucks. Hopefully long blocks aren't too much $ for that car. 450hp is plenty to have fun, should pull or keep up with most sporty cars at that level. My car makes like 350whp and it's plenty fun, granted my car only weighs 2700lbs.
thank ya! 🤪
I went v2 rt turbos instead because in 6k above sea level and pure turbos suck up here
What if you don't have access to flexfuel? Bigger turbos/injectors?
Don’t forget new engine also
😂
Fr tho you need to build the engine and make it stronger or else its going to blow fast
I pushed 560 and blew the turbos and engine wouldn’t recommend if your pockets can’t hold it
well get new turbos then
Not wise to push power in turbos that are known to fail. Get new turbos and a upgraded oil cooler
Did you upgrade the turbos?
u know i did 545hp on a sr20det with only a 2 inch exhaust and when i switched it to a 3.5 inch it only gained 7hp -_-
Out of genuine curiosity, what even makes the red sport 400 horses while the regular makes 300 horses?
It’s a tune really
extra water pump, extra transmission cooler, boost raised from 8.8 - 14.8 psi, and shorter gearing for better acceleration/torque
Is it still reliable?
🔥
thats going to cost another 10k plus 2k+ in labor
I recommend everyone stay away from ethanol or methanol conversions with this engine. It's common that the injectors get clogged with alt gas, blowing up the engine. If you get a 2018+ and stay on 93, catastrophic failure is very unlikely even at 600whp.
mine is a 2016 but i still want to build it will it be fine if i get everything in the video
Rip trans-axles-driveshaft…. Don’t forget about the brakes to slow you down or the tires and suspension to keep you on it 🤫
This 600hp ?
The car costs 10k and the mod costs 12k💀
Every boosted JDM ever.
Q50s don’t go for 10k 😂
It goes @@Trrser
@@Trrsereven the ones with 100k plus probly gonna cost around 15k, mine was 20k
U don’t need intake or catback. Helps a little but fuel and cooling and downpipe are where the power is. Intakes are a gimmick don’t spend more than $300
So, lets be serious. How much is that parts list compared to just oredering a TT kit for a 3.7?
Still cheaper lmao. A $11k turbo kit + supporting mods will be WAY MORE than some $3.5k turbos & $1500 worth of bolt ons 😂😂
Можно подготовить сразу список запчастей, которыми этот мотор отрыгнёт на 600hp ?
Sure give me that 15k please 😂
You need a m340
Then 💣

Brakes add so much hp
This is why b58 or even n55 better but never get a n54
Why

Heard q60s are really unreliable when tuned
It’s Nissan bro they not reliable
Vq engines are reliable, just tune them right and you’ll be good
@@I_Am_Ln723 that’s a VR not a VQ, but yeah if you don’t push too much PSI you should be good
@@louie88580 thanks for the correction, but i was talking about VQs in general, not the motor in that q60 in the video
if you get a shitty tuner and kill the car everyday then ya. go with the goats 🐐race box and sonictuned the car will be fine.
How much would it cost to get the new turbos and install them. And how much would the stock turbos sell for
how much is all this. i’m either copping a 340i or a q50. and i’m trynna weight out the options
340i are quicker but q50 sound a lot better. Q50 can get really fast. I’d say get a non red sport cuz u can add a tune, upgraded turbos, and downpipes and push 650hp.
I’d go with a 340i those b58 motors can push so much power more reliably the the vr30
@@pr4b486 it’s just the over heating. Put a big ass heat exhanger. Your chillin
The new Supra cost about 22k just to make 100 more hp than this...and people are happily paying it on top of the 60k price tag🤡 For that much money you can make a 1000+hp c6 vette and still have maybe 20k left for another car all together
You don’t need all of that 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Fuck that too much $$$ for 600hp
If you built you car like this video that’s it 2 months blow the engine
What do you recommend?
What😂
No need, you'll just have to deal with cops and tickets anyway lol
wait, is it for the 3.7 or 3.0t?
3.0
3.0!
Idk I mean I've never seen a 3.7 Q60 LMFAO 😂
@@bdoquietdoom4488 oh yeah you’re right, 3.7 q60s are just like g37 coupe
@@bdoquietdoom4488 2014-15 Q60 is a rebadged g37 with the 3.7

Gets gapped by a downloaded 5 minute tuned m340i💀
maybe just build the engine first?
What about an aftermarket transmission? Infinitis transmissions are unreliable too!
These trans are bulletproof, unlike the vq. I haven't heard any stories of them blowing up even at 600+whp.
misleading
I'd rather drive a base model Corolla than be seen in that Crack dealer cheesy looking ride
Or you can sell your v6 and get a zl1 💀
Don’t forget reinforced pistons and crank. The VR30 wasn’t rated for more than 550hp
I’m glad I seen your comment cause my goal is 525 and I was nervous cause I still got stock internals
@@lathanpankey2173 my local performance shop specializes in Nissan / Infiniti and as much as they rave about the VR30DDTT, they have mentioned that you’re okay to go for bigger turbos as long as you also install reinforced pistons, connecting rods and crank to improve longevity and wear.
@@jay-ham5649Yeah alot of people overlook that, but better safe than sorry😂
@@jay-ham5649do you habe a recommendation on a crank for it?
