For such a cheap board, it looks really good, personally, i think u should do a video testing it, and then doing a giveaway, but really it's up to you!

My local zumiez has like 10 decks and 5 pairs of wheels the rest is clothes and weed socks.

I recently ended my 18 year hiatus with a longboard. My daughter has showed an interest in skating now. She loved that board. I think I'll have to buy more boards now.

The reason you should support your local is not the quality of the boards it’s because local shops are small and usually go out of business because people ignore them.
Def facts. It good zumiez exost for places that dont have small shops but if people suppoerted them more maybe smaller towns would have them. Sucks cus mom and pop shops are fire.
I bought a revive board some Amazon trucks and independent hardware I got the grip tape from revive. And spitfire wheels,bones bearings including spacer and washers. For those who care it was all a total of about 160 bucks for everything I did not skate it yet but this is my first pro board and I wanna say spend a little more because when you get a new board you won’t have to by everything brand new if it is in good quality. I only just found this guy's channel. It's refreshing to see that he knows the products. A let of stores. In Australia we call the surf shops. 80% clothing 20% skate and surf gear
Where a skate shop. 80% skate gear 20% clothing. Not sure what type of shops are in America. But the best skate shops in Oz are little almost hidden stores own and run buy skateboraders. But unfortunately. They can be expensive compared to a franchise store. So sorry to just jump in.

hiii! i just ran into your channel and love it. I just started skating so i bought a cheep cal 7 board not knowing if i would have time to put into the hobby but am very much enjoying it! i’m thinking abt building a board once i get more used to skating. at the moment i can generally skate pretty good as well as kick turn and i’m working on my ollies:)
The thing about zumiez is they up their prices so it’s more expensive than local shops
On certain things that may be true but on a lot of skate they are the set price from manufacturers..for ex. Rush abec 7 bearings are sold for $10.00 if you go to most local skate shops they are going to be priced at the same price or sometimes at $14-$15 when it comes to reds bearings the price for those used to be $17.95 but after covid they raised the price to $18.95 in order for the distributors to make more money since they lost a lot of money from closures and such...same thing happened with trucks and decks and for most places prices went up to offset the profit margins and keep people in business...but that being said zumiez also offers a discount for when you build a board that actually cuts the price down quite a bit sometimes now for local shops most of them stayed at the same price during the pandemic but once everything goes back to normal I see prices dropping for everyone and going back to normal hopefully 🤷♂️ but you are correct there are some things that are more expensive for sure
@@Keegan_Co that’s weird the zumiez by my house ups their prices by about five dollars reds are 23 dollars their and baker decks are about 70-75 so I went with my local but zumiez it’s all that bad they have lots of stores.

When I got my first 7.75 board it was a plan B from zumiez w/ independent trucks and redz bearings+wheels and it ended up being around 120
Thats about what the old discount price would've put you at but now thanks to covid prices went up for everything
I went to a store in korea called “stallboards” they dont have independents, bones or any high quality stuff because shipping it to korea is hard for the business. They said they were around for 7years and nobody in korea really skateboards, they mostly longboard. Overall the stuff I got from them was nice. The bearings are abec9s and the trucks are calibers which he said was a great brand.
Dropped a nice $200 on the board and plan to spend more before leaving to help support that shop and hopefully get them to stock trick skateboards😁
Calibers are long board trucks and they are really good so thats awesome! Hopefully you can help get them into more skateboard style stuff but longboards are still cool too!

Superior are often overlooked/underrated. They are probably the best value standard wood board you can get. They are from the dsm/dwindle camp(almost, enjoi, darkstar, globe, blind, etc.) and as far as I can tell, they just don’t have pros so they pass that cost savings on to the consumer. Good boards, good shapes, good price

I get mini logo blanks from zumiez, and slap a sticker on it. works just like any other deck, and i like the shape of it

I got my first board at a thrift store about 3 months ago, I've loved it ever since and only got it for 5$. It's not the best board ik, but I'll have enough money soon to get a new one. :)
I did the same when I was a kid too! I had an old school lords of dog town shaped board and then my brothers friend broke it 😂
Many years ago there was blanks, Team board and pro boards.
Blanks everyones got in a pinch. But didn't have full plus in the middle. I'm not sure about wood glue (PVA) but I'm sure blanks where still resin.
Team boards. Some people say it's a step up from blanks. I didn't like the team (logo) decks. I assume there different quality timber but and in the top and bottom of the press and stack. I never seen any with half plys like blanks. But there was something off about it.
Pro modal (including pro stock logo boards) best shape and wood. mid press. Most time going into the cut and finish.
And let chance of sitting on a loading dock or shipping container so less moisture or heat warping.
Now days the companys like blind and darkside are doing team board at blank pricers. In Australia anyway.
Blanks $60 - $80Aud
Team logo $80 - $100Aud
Pro stock $100 - $150Aud
Tbh I'll skate anything. But like anything you get what you pay for. There is nothing wrong with cheap wood blanks. Alot of the time there rejected pro stock ie 1,2,6,7 in a press stack. Or have a ply gaps in the mild plys. But team logo boards are from the china press and tend to have different rock maple. And depending where it's printing will don't there could be shipped twice from China to America the be printed then say to the UK. And that's when boards feel soggy.
All high end boards are pressed in Mexico or I think there is one press in the USA still. But there are 5 major board pressing factory and they press boards for the the top board company's.
Keep skaters in jobs. Buy from skate shops.
i love my setup it is the spirit animal doug des autels revive board, black ace trucks, idk the hardware and bearings but am grip black grip tape and finally purp ti dye orbs wheels

Which zumiez do you work at? I have a really bad trick board (Ibought the complete at goodwill for like 5 bucks and got new trucks with wheels which was like a 30 dollar combo) I was thinking of saving up for a better board once I nail my ollie down. I'm thinking of saving up about 150 for a new board ( I have 70 dollars right now)
I currently ride a 8.0 ccs deck, 139mm independent trucks, ricta sparx wheels and bones reds. Pen grip tape. Ccs deck is nice. I like them.
This deff changed my veiw if zumiez
Only thing I would change is keeping the grip tape in 1 piece

Practice as much as you can and start with the basics so you can learn balance and board control before you start getting into crazy tricks...I have a few videos on how to start skating and how to ollie
The good wood s are a good deal they are light and some are bamboo I will honestly never get baker or deathwish unless you’re a beginner I broke both boards in less than a week the good wood I had for a year

Really good break down. Seems like yall have pretty good stock. Zumiez has a bad rep. I do think the cloths are overpriced even tho they have cool shit. But the skate shop seems decent. Def would buy from you personally.
Good wood goes crazy I skated those for hella long I'd jump off fat ass drops and it would be perfect I went with a diff setup I had to the same drop and broke a primitive board and a enjoi board

Baker and almost impacts are the best. They last forever, amazing pop and they are so hard to actually break

Buying from a local shop has always been about supporting the store in your community not necessarily about quality. I do salute Zumiez for typically more selection
I got a bob ross rip n dip deck, not because I like rip n dip as a brand, but I like bob Ross and the rip n dip cat, but I would come to find out I like rip n dip decks. Keep in mind this is my 2nd time building my skateboard complete
Im a starter and I want a decent skateboard are the zumiez prebuilt good or do you recomend me buying the parts and assemble it by myself?
Reccomend a prebuilt and slowly upgrade parts as you continue, also invest in a skate tool so you can loosen up your trucks or be able to replace your bearings.

No your questions were good! Alright soo...it really depends..sometimes when its removed from the website its because we are sold out....this doesn't 100% mean its gone forever..sometimes we'll get a restock of a specific item and then they will put it back on the website...what board were you looking at getting? If its a specific release or a collaboration most of the time those are a limited release and once they're sold thats it..so it really depends 😅 i hope that helps answer your questions once I know what deck it is I can maybe help you a little further

7 layer laminated with wood glue has been industry standard for all brands for pretty much ever. Pro decks are built exactly the same as the team decks (shape wise is really the only difference) and shop blanks.
The "new" way decks are made is with resin its lighter and creates a stronger bond in most cases so a lot of brands have switched to using that instead of Woodglue

Idk why I’m watching this. I don’t skate - though I want to and may start this year, after turning 33. But I got recommended a Powell peralta skateboard because I’m a little heavier than the average skater. Interesting video though! Subscribing now.
Welcome to the channel! And Powell Peralta flight decks are really amazing but they get kind of expensive...I recommend an impact series deck if you can find one they have a carbon fiber layer and are just as good as the Peralta decks (almost impact or double impact are great for weight)

Dude are the complete skateboards the same good wood quality?
Some companies use wood glue and some use resin so it kind of depends on that..resin makes a stronger bong so it'll have more pop and last longer but for the most part the deck quality is about the same for completes

You pay for 1 each sadly so your total for trucks should be around 40-50 bucks

The cheapest board in zumiez is better than my board 😅 in Portugal those trucks go for 85euros and spitfires for 65 euros so the trucks and wheels alone would be about 160$

It’s true tho, that the quality of Some of the cheaper wood glue decks aren’t as much there. You pay for what you get… like last time I bought one, because they are so cheap, I skated it for a week, then snapped the tail off, skating flat ground. A reason I tend to go for the more high quality of boards, anymore
Same here they can still be good but resin is usually a lot stronger and most of the times lighter as well

I can't even lie... I bought Danny's deck to display it, 3 hours later I was setting it up in the skate park car park 😂 was genuinely surprised with how good it felt, was probably just as good if not better than most of the pro decks I've had 🤷🏻♂️
