    I had a similar experience putting back my jag skid. Only had one set of washers I had no idea where they went and the schematic was of no help. It works so it’s a win. Hope to do the bearing on the driveshaft this summer and the chain case.

    I built a nice 1994 680 xcr last year in October. Mine is stupid fast and I did it alot different from the way you guys did yours . I'm pretty sure the outcomes was the same. Hang on hard Brad. I do . Keep the skis up in the air boys

    FINALLY! A video with content I actually understood! I replaced at least 20 bearings this season tearing into 4 different skids, so I felt like I could've actually contributed to the efforts if I were involved in the project! You made me feel good by forgetting the springs. I thought I only did palm to the forehead stuff!
    I have a new skid challenge though... I have a '92 Trail and the upper torsion carrier wheels don't want to come off. It's like the washers have fused themselves to the shaft. Have you got a trick up your sleeve for getting them to break free? And when I replace them, would anti-seize work to prevent future fusion?

    • @nuttersspeedshop
      @nuttersspeedshop  Před 2 lety +1

      I'm not sure exactly which skid you have. Some have set screw collars on the upper wheels like the one in this video. If it's not set screw collars I don't know what to tell you. Heat and penetrating oil and hammering. Worst case find a donor skid. We find stuck shafts on skids all the time so be sure to check any potential donors over carefully.

    • @kennethgoin628
      @kennethgoin628 Před 2 lety

      @@nuttersspeedshop The '92 skid precedes the upper torsion design of the skid in this video. Should be the same as your TX suspension upgrades. The wheel and bearing are different, smaller bearing and flat surfaced plastic wheel.
      I have had to get creative to get some of the shafts free and removed in a couple situations. Hadn't thought of heat. I'll give that a go.
      Donor skids... talk about a love/hate relationship! lol

      Pipes and clutching. If it's a mono block (XLT style) motor look into adding the 4th oil line to the PTO bearing before you pipe it.
