Not sure about that. But women who put up with that behavior teach that behavior to be tolerated. She didn't like Jaye working. She wanted her solely dependent on Tim. It seems she wanted Jaye's independence stripped away because then she'd be solely dependent on Tim and stuck putting up with it. This is why men resent women who are educated, make their own money because these women have less chance of tolerating their bullshyt.
