    You should try the new HEAT DEFLECTORS that came out for the Mesa line of SoloStoves! Thanks for the videos, keep em coming! 👍🏽

    How’s it going Andre, enjoy the videos 👍 so I tried the pellets in our new mesa xl and it was good for about 45 mins or so. But I ended up with a stove full of coal. I kept adding and it didn’t really help much. So when it was completely out I covered it , came back next morning and it was still warm. Next time I think I’ll try wood tinder and I think I like that biomass burn much more. Thanks for the video this was real helpful 👍

    because of you, I invested mesa… waiting for it to arrive… thank you 🙏

    Hi Andre, just want to let you know. I have bought a perfect fit borosilicate glass windprotection for the mesa. Just put it on top of the mesa. On our windy balcony the flame tends to go out with just a little bit of wind. Now with the glass windprotection we can enjoy the mesa even if its windy, with a perfect flame.

    My favorite combo is to start with normal thumb sized hardwood and get the fire established then chuck in wood chunks. If you can't make them yourself then you can find chunked wood at most bbq/smoker aisles of hardware stores.

    I have the Solo Stove Canyon with the heat deflector and certainly need to try it with one of these this winter if they put off a noticeable difference in heat!

    I really enjoy your Mesa videos. Amazon sells stove tops and a small grill that fits them for like $15US. I'd like to see a video of you testing them out.

    I tried this with the Duraflame brand log and the smoke was heavy through the whole burn. Does the smoke vary among brands? I was excited about this for the convenience, but the heavy smoke is a deal breaker for me. Any ideas...

    • @TheMidweekEscapeArtist
      @TheMidweekEscapeArtist  Před 5 měsíci +1

      I recon it’s the accelerant they use. If you try a log without it that might not smoke as much.

    These are surprisingly cheap at $5 per log. Pretty good value, I wonder if the same could work in a charcoal chimney as a cheap alternative to the Mesa?

    I would like to know the cost effectiveness of 500g of each fuel

    • @TheMidweekEscapeArtist
      @TheMidweekEscapeArtist  Před 4 měsíci

      that really depends on where in the world you are, these fire logs are $5 so very affordable here. For an 8 hour fire you'd need 3-4 so virtually the same cost as a bag of wood here.

    Is that not smoke I’m seeing throughout the entire burn?

    • @Laptopdog78
      @Laptopdog78 Před 5 měsíci

      @arcster0101 Yes it probably is, however I have 2 of these stoves in different sizes, and you will always get a very minimal amount of smoke, but trust me when I say this…….The amount of smoke is so small compared to burning a normal fire. I used to have fires in many different ways, and we always had sore eyes and could smell smoke on our clothes and hair etc, but not with these!

    My chimney sweep said don’t use those logs in your fireplace unless you like paying him. You can’t cook with these logs. Sorry. No s’mores. There’s a ton of chemicals in those logs.

  • @Ira88881

    This is a stove. Not a campfire.
    Can you grill burgers or steaks with this stuff? Or will it make your food taste like KEROSENE!?
    You’re a really nice guy, but the way you’re treating and using this ridiculously overpriced thing (WalMart has the same item for 40 bucks), you could just as well use a steel bucket!

      @@Ira88881 You are getting confused by the name of the company. Solo Stove is the company name. This product is not really a stove, it’s a decorative table top fire pit. Yes I believe you can now get cooking tops for it, but that was never its intended use! The world has moved on. People buy things for fun and decoration. We are not just trying to survive by cooking out of steel bins these days! I’d say making derogatory comments about a product that you have no knowledge of is pretty ignorant to be honest.

      Ignorant boomer opinions. Mom I want McDonald's. Mom - we have McDonald's at home. Just some crappy chuck burger that was cheaper because dad says it's better from Walmart.

    • @cricketthoffman9499
      @cricketthoffman9499 Před 4 měsíci

      The Solo stove was probably inspired by people using washing machine drums for bon fires. We use the drums in the desert. Keeps everything neat.
