  • Warwickshire Hunt - Talton Farm - Saturday 11th November 2023
Despite illegal hunting and numerous foxes hunted, hounds causing havoc on the roads, assaults on sabs, Warwickshire Police had the audacity to tell us to leave the area. This would have allowed the Warwickshire Hunt to carry on and break the law as much as they wanted. We weren’t going to let that happen so refused the police request to leave and ended up filming even more illegal hunting. What this has done is further damage trust in Warwickshire Police’s ability to deal fairly with the issue of illegal hunting.
They met at Talton Farm, part of the Ettington Estate. Convicted criminal huntsman Will Goffe predictably took the hounds along the dismantled railway, a place he has found foxes many times previously and even killed one here a few years ago. The waterlogged and oversaturated conditions meant he drew a blank.
It wasn’t until he was almost at the road that the hounds picked up on the first fox of the day hunting it across to Crimscote Downs where they lost the scent after the fox crossed the road. Goffe then took the hounds over to Cllr Mark Davies’s land and hunted land where again Goffe has previously found foxes. Again he drew a blank and headed over to Rex and Rosemary Harding’s Preston Bushes. Once again a place Goffe has previously found foxes and this time he got what he was after when the hounds picked up on a fox that broke cover from the woods and crossed the road. The hounds hunted it across the Harding’s land down to the brook and across Rodger and David Hawkins land. Here the hounds again hunted it across the road spewing out onto the road with hounds and riders holding up traffic and weaving in and out of cars.
The road havoc continued round the corner with hounds running about all over the road holding up waiting traffic. None of this would have happened if Warwickshire Police had had the courage to stand up to organised crime instead of doing deals with an illegal fox hunt and torn up the Community Protection Notice. How safe do you feel on roads in Warwickshire knowing the Warwickshire Hunt may be out there somewhere? Warwickshire Police are clearly prioritising enabling illegal hunting over your safety.
The fox took cover in a drainpipe in a hedge and the hounds marked it to ground. Members of the hunt then began assaulting us, pushing and grabbing sabs and attempting to stop them filming what was going on. One hunt member then reached up and hit one sab in the face. Meanwhile some sabs had managed to get into the ditch to get the hounds out.
The hunt eventually left this fox and moved on but they weren’t finished causing antisocial behavior on the roads. Huntsman Goffe on one side of the road began blowing his horn and calling the hounds across the road in front of vehicles that were forced to wait.
After quickly swapping to a fresh horse at the Hawkins Rotten Pot, Goffe took the hounds onto the Alscot Estate where the next fox was hunted from the aptly named Foxhill Bank. Sabs saw the fox take cover in the woods nearest Preston Lane, the hounds ran into the cover but overshot and came out the other side and carried on meaning a third fox was safe from the hunt.
It was at this point that the hunts private security turned up, no we’re not talking about hunt supporter Adrian Crofts Dinah-Risk but Warwickshire Police who it seems can always be counted upon to get the Warwickshire Hunt out of a tight spot. Crofts and Brett Easter had apparently made up some assault allegations, perhaps pre-empting their own assaults on sabs earlier in the day and got in there first. The police were completely unwilling to deal with all of the illegal hunting that had been going on, literally moments before they arrived, simply telling sabs to report it to the Rural Crime Team. With sabs prioritising doing Warwickshire Police’s job for them and stopping an organised crime in progress foot sabs carried on in land.
Warwickshire Police then had the audacity to order sabs to leave the area despite the Warwickshire Hunt being the ones illegally hunting all day, putting motorists at risk with their dangerous antics on public roads and assaulting those people trying to stop them. This follows a recent trend of Warwickshire Police making a complete hash of anything hunting related and trying to protect the hunt at all costs.
Aside from the fact that the police demands were unlawful sabs weren’t going to leave the hunt unattended and it proved the correct decision as soon as the foot team caught back up with the hunt a fox was filmed escaping the hounds on George and Anthony Heath’s Heath Farm with the hounds the other side of the dismantled railway on the Hawkins Brothers Ailstone Farm.
With the light fading, four foxes escaping to safety and desperate attempts to get rid of us failing we left the hunt to drown their sorrows at their hunt ball.

    Truly distressing viewing.
What a rotten little country Britain is where entitled fools can break the law to hunt down wild animals for support.
And a useless police force does not carry out the law.
Keep up your good work to disrupt these bastards.
    Best wishes from Toulouse, France.
And before anyone comments, yes, hunting is widespread here in the winter, but mostly on foot and for food and not as a rich man's sport.

Makes my blood boil they allow this illegal hunting. Laws made with loopholes to allow it. Disgusting.

You should get the RSPCA to attend a hunt see if the police support the illegal hunt then. I thought the police took an oath to uphold the law🤔🤔🤔🤔

This demonstrates Warks senior police ranks sitting at the same dinner table with hunt organisers and for some unfathomable reason, turning a blind eye - old chap...I'd be arrested if i hurt a wild animal directly or indirectly...

I'm sorry to see part of our heritage destroyed by snow flakes. "Causing absolute chaos on the roads in warks" i don't think so. You obviously don't travel by road at rush hour very often

Does your heritage involve running after toffs like pups, getting all flustered when they kill small things?
Or are you one of the fancy dress brigade? You know, the ones that spend thousands of pounds on horses, nice tight pants and whips, then get dominated by kids in balaclavas.
