Stores that close at 6 pm forget the rest of us are working, stores that don’t stay open on weekends forget we need fill’s before a dive trio
Good points. Air fills are key to a dive stores business. Thanks for sharing.

The shop I worked at was open Friday and Saturday 6:00 am to 1:00 am, Sunday 6:00 am to 7:00 pm, and Monday through Thursday 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. There was no bathroom in the shop, so if I had to go, I locked the shop for a few minutes while I walked to the bathroom around the corner of the building. There always seemed to be someone waiting at the door when I returned.
Ok that is something I would expect a dive shop to have especially with customers. Take care.

I remember diving in an area a three hour drive from my house, checked for dive stores in the area and there was one near by, checked the hours and when I went there nobody was around so I went for a coffee came back 30 mins later , place was locked , as I was leaving a woman came out and said to come in her husband would be back any minute. So I started looking around, was looking for some dive weights, was using a new drysuit and felt a little under weighted, husband came in looking annoyed and says what do you want, like it better be good or your wasting my time kind of deal, so I looked at him and said from you, nothing, and walked out. I guess when your the only shop in a hundred kms he felt he could drop a big steaming one and I'd say how much.
Sadly that attitude is fading away as shops like this are squeezed out by online and brick & mortar stores that really care about divers. They wrongly picked 'you're lucky I'm here' vs 'so glad you came in'. Thanks for sharing.

Love these. I was wondering when you'd upload some more of em!
A few more ready to go (so Kevin tells me).

Tips for all stores not just dive shops. Consistant hours are vital beasue you'll lose business to the competition, but especially if there is no competition and your customers have to drive a considerable distance to get to you. The closest dive shop to me is over an hour away. This is quite a drive just to get some tanks filled. I've shown up on more than one occasion to find them closed, their website hasn't been updated in years, and training availability is wishy-washy, equipment selection is pretty weak. I ended up buying my own compressor and using the dive shop twice the distance away for any training or equipment needs that I can't get from the web.
I hear that from many who are treated like interruptions, not customers. Maybe email this video to them to read all the comments.

Times printed large enough to see when you pull up in your car , ideally in the parking lot, would be the one thing Id want stores to do many dont even have hours on the doors and if they are they are such small print you have to park and walk up to them. Many stores that are not busy Ive gone by thinking they were closed turned out later I found they were open just poor lighting.
Don't get me started on micro-fonts. I consider 14 point a minimum today! Good points made and hope all LDSs read these comments.

You would think that this would be a "no-brainer" for ANY business, but sadly not. I have gone to several shoppes here in the States and even though the sign on the door showed they should be open, they were not.
I went down to the next store and gave them my business and never looked back.
If you posted hours, say you are open, be open. ESPECIALLY, in these days of internet convenience.
same. also been in a shop where i was in there well before closing time, but the customer in front of me decided to make a mountain out of a mole hill and i wasted an hour of the shop's (and my) time, didn't leave until it was "closing" time and didn't buy anything either. the LDS stayed open for my business after closing time and didn't make me feel rushed.
I agree that all business need to remember customers can and will leave for a competitor, even if a longer drive (read these comments to hear sad stories). Face to face customers are becoming rare and good, not just OK, service is the minimum to survive.

My LDS is a house, so never really any set hours, helps to ask ahead of time. Although if he isn't there his wife can also fills tanks and sell stuff. But they both can be gone and people that don't frequent there show up time to time and get frustrated when no one is there..
That's a strange situation where locals all know their special times but someone new just goes by the door sign and gets no answer.
Maybe just add a mini-sign saying "know or call if no answer, we are filling tanks and its noisy".

There was a GNC in S. Florida that never opened on time. I ended switching to an independent supplement store. GNC lost my business.
Many viewers have shared similar comments on how inconsistent store hours are. Hope that LDS is watching this series.

@@AlecPeirceScuba_SeaHunter it’s close 24/7 plenty time to sleep 🛌

Yes, good point.
