- As we celebrate the 20th anniversary of Nickelodeon’s hit superhero cartoon, Danny Phantom, we are saddened by the passing of Martin Mull the voice actor behind Vlad Masters/Blade Plasmius.

Martin Mull was part of my childhood in Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Seeing him in Danny Phantom was great since he played a more serious bad guy role and not just a goofy antagonist. Rest in peace, Martin Mull. You will be missed.

i will miss him
For me, there's two Vlad moments from the show that stick out right off the top of my head.
The first is where Danny meets Vlad's ghost self for the first time as that really built him up as this imposing presence and showed just how much more powerful and skilled he was compared to Danny.
The second moment is the bit in The Ultimate Enemy where we see Vlad ten years later, now a broken man without his powers, and how he says "If any good came out of this, it's that ten years without ghost powers gave me the chance to see what a fool I'd been."
There's also a great moment in the graphic novel A Glitch In Time where the main timeline Vlad finally realizes how his quest for power is what drove those closest to him away.

Mine was when Old Vlad from the Ultimate Enemy said “if any good came out of this, it’s that 10 years without ghost powers gave me the chance to see what a fool I’ve been”.
It was the first time it was shown that Vlad can be redeemed, which finally came to pass in the “A Glitch in Time” comic
