      Oh good question! I haven't got a schedule going yet but I did do it a few times in the late afternoon and evening EST and realized very quickly I have no idea how to run an entertaining live stream haha, the world of live streaming is a whole nother animal! I'd like to get something going though this year on that front, I think it could be a lot of fun to just sculpt and chat, get feedback and ideas and learn new stuff.

    Got to say this looks awesome. I'm learning programming right now and don't want to split my focus, but I will come back to this at some point. I really want to dive in right now, but I want to learn one thing at a time. Once I feel I have a good grasp of C# then I will be binging this series. I am 44 days into C# development for Unity, so it may be a while. but i'm subscribing. Thanks for the seemingly amazing content.

      Thanks Books! Yeah getting into this stuff is like stepping foot into a giant amusement park with a thousand rides, games, shops, food trucks, shows, and mascots all buzzing around haha, such a strong pull to run around and get to all of it at once. I feel like I'm on the other side as you haha, I'm still getting the grasp of modeling and animation and keep pulling myself back from jumping into programming and getting a game going haha, all part of the fun though! Well when you got your game on beta release let me know! :)

      @@RussellMidfield Yes that is a great analogy of what it is like to get into game dev! I'm going to keep an eye on your channel and hope to see more stellar content like this. One day I may make a programming/game Dev channel, but for now i'm in the learning faze. (Even though teaching is a great way to learn more deeply) When I have a game that is worth finishing, I will certainly let you know. Thanks for the knowledge and the encouragement. I love the game dev and art community, its full of creative, smart, people spreading love and support for one another.

    Hey I'm really enjoying this tutorial. My plan is to following along, but creating my own character instead. I'm trying to create a kraken/octopus like creature and in doing so, I have started out with an octagon. After extruding a tentacle the way I like it, I wish to duplicate them all the way around. Now, I have tried duplicating, and it works, however I cannot align the duplicate leg to the vertices of the octagon. I also tried the mirroring tip you mentioned, but once the leg is mirrored I can no longer mirror another? Any tips on what I should do to create the rest of my symmetrical legs all around the octagon? Thanks in advance!

    • @RussellMidfield
      @RussellMidfield  Před 3 lety

      Oh "radial symmetry" may help here. I'm away from my computer so I can't quite remember exactly where it is haha sorry. It's on the right side panel in the symmetry section though when in edit and sculpt mode if I remember correctly. It allows you to edit and sculpt with symmetry in several different directions at once. Is that kind of what you're thinking?

    • @RussellMidfield
      @RussellMidfield  Před 2 lety

      Oh yes, it should appear automatically once you add the cube, or any shape for that matter. If you don't see it, you may need to change to the Sculpting or Modeling tab along the top. Keep in mind this menu can be expanded and collapsed, so if you dont see it right away it could be that it is just collapsed into a single line in the bottom left corner. I believe it will also disappear if you click after clicking to confirm the add as well, so once you left click to confirm the object, check in the bottom left corner before clicking again or it will be gone.
