Very nice video, great comparison and pretty spot on opinions. Been carrying a Glock 19 Gen 5 stock (with the exception of a TLR-7a light) for a couple years and like it a lot. Shot a CZ SP-01 at a range and it felt great and wanted to get the smaller P-01 for a new EDC and this helped a lot in my choice, thanks!
No matter what, every Glock I've held in my hand, it always felt like a 2x4 . I'm not trashing Glocks, but for me personally I don't like the fit. On the other hand, the CZ P75 01 feels like a glove in my hand.
This is still the best video for CZ P-01 Omega that I can find. It happens that I also have both and I agree with everything in the video. Glock 19 is pretty much unbeatable in all categories except for how it looks. On the other hand, you just have to have one CZ in hand to know how awesome it is. Even though we know some issues of CZ pistols (mostly pin related, others like springs, etc.), people still love it for good reasons.
Honest and thorough review, well done. I simply like hammer fired metal guns more. Love my 19 and 48, awesome shooters but my CZs are my favorites. Can’t lose with either. Keep up the good work.
I picked up a CZ P-01 today. I like the craftsmanship and weight over the G19. The one thing I do wish the P-01 grip was a bit longer for my big hands.
This was a cool video to see because these are my two favorite EDC guns. That said I find myself gravitate to the Glock 19 with a Rmr more often. Just because of the weight. The CZ is the gun I like to shoot more. But the high beaver tail tends to dig into my stomach when I bend down because I carry appendix. Great video!
I'm glad you mentioned user serviceability. Too often people just regurgitate marketing talking points when talking about the Glock and forget to talk about how its relative mechanical simplicity makes it easier for the user to perform maintenance on their gun. I loved my CZ75 too; the balance and overall feel are superior to the Glock. However, if you got a problem with your CZ then you have to send it back to the factory which is not always the case with the Glock. That's why I sold my CZ and kept my Glock 17.
I’ve have a Gen 4 glock 19 and I just got the CZ P01 and I love them both. I gave my 19 to my fiancé for Christmas and was looking for something to replace the gun as a conceal carry gun but could also be a open carry and so far I’m very satisfied with the P01 if you are looking for a conceal carry gun that you won’t feel naked having in a rough side of town both the 19 and P01 are good choices in my opinion.
My first pistol was a G19, and then I fell in love with the CZ pistols and started to carry the P-10C, then P-07, and finally the P-01, but after 8 years I bought a gen 5 G19 and that's been my carry gun again for the last 3 months. Honestly I think this is going to stay for a long while, it's feels very different carrying a lighter pistol again, it's more comfortable and the reality is that I'm carrying this pistol more than I am using it for self defense and it's made me really think about the weight difference of these pistols
Fair points. I like shooting the CZ P01 better, but the Glock 19 fits me better for EDC. It was also difficult to find a good holster for optics and a light for the CZ P01 compared to my Glock 19 whenever I'm doing the rounds at night around my farm.
I used to be a glock fanboy until I held a cz75. The cz fits on your hand like a glove and the quality is way superior , I now carry my cz75 p01 in the winter and my sig p365 in the summer. Good luck on whatever you decide to purchase.
Been waiting for this comparison review and it did Not disappoint ! Glad i got rid of my czp01 omega. It was a jam-momatic, although it was surely sexy! Now I rock the g19x it’s honestly my favorite handgun of all time! Great job humble!
Excellent presentation. I've had my CZ 75 P-01 since about 2005. I've got, maybe 500 rounds through it. Love the weapon, it shoots great and is accurate. A new subscriber.
Good comparison! I carry the P-01 Omega for all the reasons listed, specifically pinning hammer during draw, ergos and hipster cred. I think I’m going to replace the roll pin and TRS for the CGW versions as well as eventually Cajunize the whole thing
I like and use the CZ P-01 and CZ Shadow 2. Although I also have 2 Glock’s a 27 and 20 and they are both great guns. I have shot both brands in USPSA and IDPA and they have performed great. Another grate video and Analysis! Thank you and keep them coming
Totally prefer the CZ. I have a thing for DA/SA pistols. I shoot it better too - I get bullet hole on bullet hole groups much more easily. There are so many other striker fired pistols that are equal to or beat the Glock at its own game.
Many people here are choosing the CZ. My first was a glock 19. But I always regretted not getting a sig sauer Mk25 because the MK25 is all metel, was used by the Navy, and is gorgeous. Now, when I finally bought a sig MK25, I realized how much the sig mk25 was just an optical illusion for me. I thought I would like the mk25 more then the glock 19, but i don't. The mk25 is super heavy. Its super big, it needs to be lubed with oil and grease, and it just requires a lot more time for overall maintenance. The mk25 just made me love my g19 that much more. Although, I truly think either one is a great option. Sorry, i can't comment on cz because I've never had one.
My carry gun is the full sized CZ 75B. Yes, it's heavy; it's also 100% reliable, it eats whatever ammo I feed it, the magazines hold 17 rounds (though I only load 16 since I don't want to push my luck,) and it just looks and feels so darn good in my hand. Recently I installed the "Old Style 85c" trigger from CGQ, since I was getting pinched by the original, tightly curved trigger, and also installed M*Carbo's spring kit. It was a good shooter before I did that, now it's an absolute dream. At 10 yards I shredded the bullseye on my 8" target, and at 15 yards every shot was in the black. I'm more than delighted with my CZ! As for Glocks- yeah, they shoot well, there are tons of aftermarket accessories, but they just don't make my heart sing like the CZ does. They also feel like I'm holding a plastic brick, and I'm just not that good when shooting them. Maybe after a few thousands of rounds I'd be as accurate as I am now with the CZ, but I see no point in trying. CZ for me! Thanks for the video. Although I reached the opposite conclusion than you did I always appreciate an honest review!
I picked the CZ I just like the hammer striker fire makes me feel like something's missing. I shot lots of revolvers as a kid so maybe that has something to do with it IDK
CZ...I can’t tolerate the grip angle on Glocks. I’ve tried. And their triggers feel spongy as heck. But in my case it’s not really fair because David Milam customized my gun to the extreme.
Have you tried the striker control device (aka the gadget) for glocks yet? I hear good things about them, and they can help accomplish the same thing as the hammer check you mentioned
I run one on my carry 19. Works great and get the job done. It’s build the same subconscious memory since I rotate between a P07 and 19. Having that thumb on the hammer makes and the back plates makes reholstering a lot safer.
@@TienP1997 I'm looking for an optics ready piatol, so I'm leaning toward the G19. I'd love if the 48 or 43x had optics ready versions, but doesn't seem like that's on the cards.
William Ramirez If you want to keep the 19 stock you should get the gen 5. If you want to do modify it alittle go for the 19 gen 3. Gen 3 are cheaper to mod.
I have it on a 43x and it is great. Put your thumb on it like you would a hammer and you will feel ANY trigger movement. Great for reholstering appendix carry.
I own a few CZs now and have been very happy with them. My sp-01 tactical is my favorite handgun. It prompted me recently to get a p01 omega to carry. I've never liked glocks. I don't hate them so much, and I can respect what they are, but they've never done it for me. I normally can pick up a gun and shoot it well. I can't do that with a glock. So for me it is simple any gun that doesn't pick up and shoot like I've put 2000 rounds down range isn't for me. Maybe for other people its that way for czs. There are other reasons but I've found that to always be the simplest form of judgement from me of a firearm. Not everyone can afford 1000s of rounds to "git gud" , especially now with ammo prices, so I lean towards guns that I naturally shoot well, and can continue to shoot well with less ammo down range. Don't get me wrong id love to dump ammo down range but right now I'd have to spend a whole months wages on a couple thousand rounds.
I just bought the p01, shipping to my local shop now. I’ll do a review on it, I plan to upgrade the trigger. Any recommendations? I am guessing Cajun gunworks.
For all the popular reasons, I prefer CZ. I like the weight (I own an SP-0), and the feel in my hand. But as someone who won't be missing my weapon, other than maybe sights, it's the trigger feel of the Glock that doesn't work for me. I've owned mine for about nine months, and shoot a couple times a month. It's gets a bath and oil after every session, and disassembly takes less than a minute for regular maintenance. Haven't done a full strip. I can appreciate the accuracy test from a far better marksman than myself to show a more neutral perspective, but Flocks jump out of my hand a bit more. That all-metal frame inspires confidence for me, and it shoots really soft. Thanks for the great and detailed review!
The P01 is not much heavier than a glock - but its a bit heavier - just not enough to affect the way the gun shoots. The feel in hand is superior on the CZ for sure - just wish that they were a little more maintenance free for high round counts.
Was thinking I wanted a glock, so I rented one, than rented a p01 and I am picking up a new p01 in a couple days! Both shot straight but the feel of the CZ was like no other. I have a 1911 & a s&w shield but I dream about the CZ!
Very fair evaluation, Thank you! Owned the G19 & G17 gen 5 mos, both very decent guns, sold them both after 6-12 months to buy CZ'S, I agree with HM, it's a personal preference, for me, I shoot the CZ more accurately! I still appreciate and respect the Glocks! buying the G45 mos next. Glocks are solid and dependable guns!
I agree with your assessment for shootability ... a lot of these compact guns can be shot with similar performance ... it's just a matter of practicing with your chosen flavor. My personal favorite in this size is the M&P 2.0 Compact (4" version). That thing is a shooter.
I started out shooting CZ and I love them. However, I’m a simple man and prefer simple machines so I switched entirely to Glock and have enjoyed less headaches. I will say though, I’ve bought and sold quite a few Glocks over the years and hardly gave any of them a second thought. Selling my CZ’s was like breaking up with a girlfriend.
L R They weren’t lemons, I liked both my 75B and SP01. The P-01 I have shot on loan was also great. CZ’s are very reliable but are more ammo sensitive than Glock. They also have twice the amount of parts a Glock has, and the CZ aftermarket is not as robust (especially 10 years ago). Plus you actually have to clean CZ’s and that’s gross.
Lol! So glad there are lots of options. I wouldn’t own a glock if someone gave me one. I’d sell it the next day. Hate is too strong a word, but I’m definitely not a fan.
I shot several Glocks at my buddies place 9mm, 10mm, 45ACP. Shot good but always felt weird in my hands and didnt care for all that plastic and sounds. Discovered CZ and yea I'd take a free Glock but it would go into storage much prefer CZ for shooting.
I’ve always been a S&W guy so the M&P 2.0, 3.6 is my choice there. Glocks just never did it for me. As for CZ, the PCR is my favorite, love everything about! Great video, two totally different types of pistols but definitely worth comparing.
Nice comparison, both are excellent guns. Another option to consider ... if you do run out of ammo, the CZ will probably do more damage as a throwing weapon. :)
I've watched a couple videos in which polymer pistols blew up when faced with double charge reloaded ammunition, whereas a CZ Shadow 2 survived (except for the extractor which blew away). Like you said, they're both reliable guns until they aren't. In case any ammo I shoot is accidentally double charged, I think I'll rely on a full metal pistol to save my hands.
Good thorough review and comparison. I’m a new female gun owner. Have a gen 5 g19 which I love and was looking for a hammer fired option. Obviously more moving parts means more complicated, but you really opened my eyes to some cons that I hadn’t considered. May just keep CZ on my wish list until I get more experience. Thanks!
I have a PO1 and G19 gen 4. Both go bang in a pinch, so both are a good choice in that regard, but as in the video each has different pros and cons. I personally now carry the P01 because I prefer the trigger and ergonomics so the extra weight is an acceptable con. If you've a smaller body type like most women bear in mind both are heavy and not great for tighter clothing, if that's your thing. If you want to spend about the same I would also highly recommend the Sig P365 or XL version, or a Glock 43 ,or 43x or a 48 for which there are aftermarket mags available that bump up the capacity to 15 rounds [same as the G19 and P01] but still fits flush in the gun same as the standard mag. Hope this helps.
Evil Black Cat Thanks for the info. I do have a g43x as well but can’t seem to find those S15 mags anywhere in stock. I’ve seen vids where you can make one, but again being new, not as comfortable with doing my own conversions just yet. Prefer to buy something that’s proven and tested. Thanks for the recommendations 😊
The broken return spring is VERY common and has become the Achilles heel for me and my CZ’s. Also The regular P01 is the NATO certified handgun. Not the omega
Funny I own five different CZ handguns, put tens of thousands of rounds through them, and have never had a return spring break. For a "VERY common" "Achilles heel", I'm amazed I have not had that issue. I had a slide stop pin break at approximately 10k rounds on my SP-01, but otherwise no failures.
The only reason is it isn't certified is because they made minor changes to it that make it even better, but different enough it would have to be recertified.
@@hochhaul easy remedy with aftermarket spring, same with the firing retaining pin. Cost 10 bucks shipped for both. I also recommend the czc or CGW floating hammer pin. Then the pro defensive carry package. 5-6 lb double action, 2.5 to 3lb single very short and crisp. Turns an already very accurate pistol into a tack driver. I’m talking same hole groups at 20 or 25 yards if you do your part. Also if you use the pro mags you can put the 10 spring czc internals in and get 16+1 in the same size. No added dimensions. The CZ p01 and 75d pcr are imho the best compact 9mm ever made. With a little aftermarket work you sacrifice absolutely nothing and get everything you’d want in a defensive, competitive, combat firearm.
Which gun would you choose?

Honest and thorough review, well done. I simply like hammer fired metal guns more. Love my 19 and 48, awesome shooters but my CZs are my favorites. Can’t lose with either. Keep up the good work.
Great comparison! I've been contemplating the CZ-P01
they are awesome guns for sure.
They are both great options. I’d like to add a P01 to my collection.
Just picked up a P-01 omega today. So excited!
Enjoy it
I picked up a CZ P-01 today. I like the craftsmanship and weight over the G19. The one thing I do wish the P-01 grip was a bit longer for my big hands.
yeah the CZ feels better put together.
Yeah they're both great guns.
What appendix rig are you using?
Joshua Darisse A LAS concealment holster
I'm glad you mentioned user serviceability. Too often people just regurgitate marketing talking points when talking about the Glock and forget to talk about how its relative mechanical simplicity makes it easier for the user to perform maintenance on their gun. I loved my CZ75 too; the balance and overall feel are superior to the Glock. However, if you got a problem with your CZ then you have to send it back to the factory which is not always the case with the Glock. That's why I sold my CZ and kept my Glock 17.
The long term maintenance on most striker guns is stupid easy, especially glocks.
Life is simpler with a glock.
Great comparison video, thanks!
GREAT VIDEO!
I'm going to buy CZ, but my friends prefer Glock here in Brazil.
Right on they're both decent guns
Cristiano Lima
You're the smart one of the group.
I used to be a glock fanboy until I held a cz75. The cz fits on your hand like a glove and the quality is way superior , I now carry my cz75 p01 in the winter and my sig p365 in the summer.
Good luck on whatever you decide to purchase.
@@gardnerrosseto same here, shot the Sig P320 X5 legion, prefer the CZ Shadow 2, for me the Shadow is more accurate with less rocking muzzle flip
Been waiting for this comparison review and it did Not disappoint ! Glad i got rid of my czp01 omega. It was a jam-momatic, although it was surely sexy! Now I rock the g19x it’s honestly my favorite handgun of all time! Great job humble!
Glad you enjoyed it. Cheers!
Love both. I go back and forth on which one I like better 🤷🏻♂️
P-01. I have had its predecessor (CZ P-02) as well as multiple P-07s, and I have always preferred DA/SA.
I own the CZ 75 P01 Omega Compact and it is an absolute must....very reliable, safe and recoil is very manageable! i love the CZ
You just solved my dilemma, thank you!
Honesty in reviews, superb. Ty sir
Glock 19=sufficient
PO1= perfection
I have both.
With my technique I don't see any difference in performance - the glock is more maintenance free and more holster choices so glock it is.
Excellent presentation. I've had my CZ 75 P-01 since about 2005. I've got, maybe 500 rounds through it. Love the weapon, it shoots great and is accurate. A new subscriber.
They're great pistols to be sure.
Good comparison! I carry the P-01 Omega for all the reasons listed, specifically pinning hammer during draw, ergos and hipster cred. I think I’m going to replace the roll pin and TRS for the CGW versions as well as eventually Cajunize the whole thing
hammer checking is fantastic.
I like and use the CZ P-01 and CZ Shadow 2. Although I also have 2 Glock’s a 27 and 20 and they are both great guns. I have shot both brands in USPSA and IDPA and they have performed great. Another grate video and Analysis! Thank you and keep them coming
Shadow 2 is amazing.
Excellent comparison reviews.
If I had to have one: it would be a Glock 19. However, I have two of them soooooo...I bought a CZ P-01 Omega w/ night sights and suppressor ready 😁
I picked the CZ I just like the hammer striker fire makes me feel like something's missing. I shot lots of revolvers as a kid so maybe that has something to do with it IDK
Excellent review ! Good honest opinions without the bias .
I try to stay objective when possible.
Good to know about the spring!
Out of these two I’d go for the cz. Currently deciding on the p01 or a beretta 92.
Cz for sure!!
well informed and helpful video.
CZ all day long..
I have both, love them both like I love my children. No favorites.
4:49 Can I say that the way you brought that up so naturally is strangely funny?
Awesome video thanks keep it up
CZ...I can’t tolerate the grip angle on Glocks. I’ve tried. And their triggers feel spongy as heck. But in my case it’s not really fair because David Milam customized my gun to the extreme.
Have you tried the striker control device (aka the gadget) for glocks yet? I hear good things about them, and they can help accomplish the same thing as the hammer check you mentioned
I haven't - I keep threatening to then never do it.
Just got the Omega black. Nice, bought Lok grips and new sites.
Good thorough comparison.
Just subbed bro, I'm going to check your video out on soon as i finish this one.
Armed Rebellion47 thanks man!
My mcarbo trigger is awesome and cheap
Nice review...thank you
For all the popular reasons, I prefer CZ.
I have both lol just ordered my cz so haven't shot it yet but sexy af
The CZ is the beautiful child, whereas the Glock is the child who always gets things gone.
@Jeffrey Woods Except the cz has been used by many militaries world wide and actually tests better in reliability tests lol.
@@milesdavidson3465 lol indeed.
@@milesdavidson3465 sources?
Was thinking I wanted a glock, so I rented one, than rented a p01 and I am picking up a new p01 in a couple days! Both shot straight but the feel of the CZ was like no other. I have a 1911 & a s&w shield but I dream about the CZ!
Great review thank you. I have the 19 and I just really like it fits me well. But may be a CZ will be my next next one.
P10C for my striker fired pistol, M9A3 for my DA/SA pistol
M9A3s are awesome
Great review man, really appreciate it. Between these 2 which one had more felt recoil? I know subjective, but worth asking.
CZ- the frame is rigid and comes to more of a point in the backstrap - the Glock flexes and is blunt across the back
When you said the hammer fire thing I burst out laughing. lol
I agree with your assessment for shootability ... a lot of these compact guns can be shot with similar performance ... it's just a matter of practicing with your chosen flavor. My personal favorite in this size is the M&P 2.0 Compact (4" version). That thing is a shooter.
Those are awesome - I wish they'd do an optics ready one.
Yeah - It takes falling in love with a CZ to appreciate what Glocks offer.
Headaches from a CZ?! Lol you must of had a lemon.
L R nope - you just begin to understand the deficiencies with the design after you have put 15k+ through one
Threaded P-01 Omega with an Olight on my night stand. Thinking about a G19 Gen5 as well which is how I came upon this video.
This was great info.
Can you do the same with that Glock vs
Ruger Security 9
Discovered CZ and yea I'd take a free Glock but it would go into storage much prefer CZ for shooting.
glocks are the tupperware of firearms.
I’ve always been a S&W guy so the M&P 2.0, 3.6 is my choice there. Glocks just never did it for me. As for CZ, the PCR is my favorite, love everything about!
Great video, two totally different types of pistols but definitely worth comparing.
I love the 2.0s - wish they hadn't dropped the ball on the optic ready ones.
I just traded in my Glock for a 2.0 Compact. It's a nice addition to my CZ's.
"I know, ive read all those things too" lol
Nice comparison, both are excellent guns. Another option to consider ... if you do run out of ammo, the CZ will probably do more damage as a throwing weapon. :)
Today we're comparing a Corolla to a 70's Challenger... What even is this? P07 or p10c is what you should use.
Outstanding video! I have a Glock 19 Gen 4.
Nice work!
Thank you! Cheers!
I'd take the CZ. I even carry one because I carry appendix and I protect what I love. There's less chance of a ND with a hammer fired gun.
I do like the hammer fired gun for carry for that reason.
What does ND mean?
bill watson ND=nut destruction
@@teevee231 gotcha. That's why I'm afraid to carry that way
@@billwatson5400 he meant to say negligent discharge.
I sold all my Glocks, and CZ's for a Highpoint 9mm, rattle can paint job, and its amazing
Yes!!!! We shall now begin the Holy Quest of converting All to High Point Fanboys. Our cause is just, our Victory is imminent. We shall not fail.
@@hochhaul well that’s awesome to hear! Maybe everything I’ve read isn’t as big of a deal as I thought. Glad you had good luck
I've heard of the same problem in other reviews. It sounds like it's worth the effort replacing the trigger and firing pin.
