  • This is a quick look at the LinQ rack and the top case I purchased thanks to the Can Am customer service and the gift card they gave me.

    I have been hoping someone would show this bag! I am not sure which one I would want either. The SR-71 Blackbird, Love that plane, still looks like it should be from the future even though it is old tech!

      Tom right on my fav plane by far. They have not made anything like it again. Also I ended up going for the smaller bag as a few days later I realized this bad was digging into my back. So I will bring a quick video on the sport bag soon.

      @@RideAboutNow I was worried it may hit the back wrong or that the LinQ base would dig in. While sitting on the Ryker in the showroom, I found the small bag felt good on my back.

    The opening is for rain shed. In inclement weather it allows rain to move around the lid and not go in

    Loving the content. To update you on the windshield. I received and installed the Madstad 20 inch, sport style. Absolutely love it. With the Sport style, it can be at the lowest setting and you can still open the frunk as long as the wheels are straight. Got on I-65 yesterday (your neighbor here in Alabama) and was able to hit 100 MPH and feel minimal wind resistance.
    I am considering the handguards, how are those holding up, can you tell a difference? I don't typically wear gloves, was hoping those would save my hands from debris.

      Nice Richie thanks for the feedback post a pic if possible or a quick 60 sec vid from your phone. I think I will get the madstad as well in the future. The hand guards is a must have it works and keeps the wind off your hands. I took a short ride without my gloves to test and I was super comfortable.

    I just purchased my Ryker 900 ACE and love it. My biggest gripe is the cost the Can Am accessories. Buy the Max Mount and some the accessories will work BUT you have to buy the Linq Rack for others to work. Seems like they are gouging us for every penny they can for their accessories. I know I can get other brands and make them work but come on Can Am give us a little break. $400 just to get that rear case and the rack is uncalled for. They should have made the case to work with the Max Mount.

      Yeah I feel you on that. I felt the same way. Seems like they gave us a cheaper option vs a spyder but by the time you're done buying accessories you realize you could've bought a used spyder.

    You’re obsessed with the opening it’s designed like that so snow/rain doesn’t get in easily

    • @RideAboutNow
      @RideAboutNow  Před 3 lety +1

      I am obsessed because it has a roll top opening which is supposed to be water proof and the top cover goes around the edges so why the large bezels around it. In my opinion not a practical design. I now have a smaller linQ bag but it can fit more in there than this one. Granted the new one is only water resistance but riding it in the rain I've had no issues. Check out that video. Thanks for watching.

    You can correct me if I'm wrong (and I hope I am wrong) but one of the things I don't like about the Ryker is that they seem to make too many things proprietary. I would like to attach a standard top case plate so I can buy and install a lockable top case by GIVI or SHAQ, etc. I hate having such cases that do not lock. You can stop at a gas station to use the bathroom and come back out and your case was either broken into or stolen altogether. Gas station, quick run into a store, etc. All it takes a a minute for someone to steal. So the question is - is there such a plate that works with the Ryker?

    • @RideAboutNow
      @RideAboutNow  Před 4 lety

      You know I feel the same way. As a matter of fact I am debating If I should ditch the LinQ system and go back to the top case that BRP offers, I can drill a small hole in the locking tab and perhaps put a small cable lock on it. with the Linq I will have to put 2 holes in and I am finding it hard to lock the LinQ rack. I just cant believe they did not think about the locks!! There are a couple of videos of people putting a universal top case on there that is lockable and attached via nuts and bolts on to a plate and then to the Max mount.

      FYI-I added a top GIVI case by drilling a hole in the bottom of it and didn't need to add a case plate.

    Why did u choose the 900 over the 600 ?

    • @RideAboutNow
      @RideAboutNow  Před 4 lety +1

      I wanted the Rally to begin with because of all the upgrades, also I chose the 900 so I could do highway speeds or above comfortably for longer periods of time as I plan to take longer trips. Now there is nothing wrong with the 600 as it’s lighter but it all depends on what kind of riding you want to do I guess. If you’re in the city most of the times with occasional highway rides then there is nothing wrong with the 600.

      The Knight Ryker ok that make sense. I live in Houston. So I’m still trying to figure which one would be best to drive on the road out here.

    Update on the ryker.
    So I call the dealer tell them it's broken again and the salesman starts getting mad at me. Lol preceded to hang up in my face.
    Then text me the # to can-am to bring it in kmsl.

      Okay this is ridiculous. I would note all this down and speak with an agent to address all of this and ask for compensation. I did all of this with such kindness that I made them feel responsible and they took care of me. I heard they were really bad a year ago but this year started to hear that the customer service has kicked it up a notch. Hope it all works out and you can start enjoying your Ryker.
