What's Going On Guys? This is VinylicPuma and I finally have the Top 8 Worst Sniper Rifles in Borderlands 2 and The Pre-Sequel! Video for you guys! I think we can all agree that all 8(possibly even more) are fairly bad. :)

Its not a knight armor. Plz dont mind if i m writing this, i dont mean that bad. Its called lobster armor and it was used by my nation, germany, in WW1. Heavy machine gunners and infantry used it in trenches as a shield from bullets and shrapnell. I dont even have to say that this was more dangerous than helpfull. The allies used at tbe end of WW1 and nearly similar armor, which was actually even worse. But german soldiers in that armor never went on no mans land or in a open battlefield with that armor tho.

it's almost like bolt action rifles are designed for those who stay far away from combat, and it helps the gun jam less than automatic weapons

Really all E-Tech weapons in general. The only decent ones I can think of are Hyperion and Maliwan Plasma Casters.
But the e-tech snipers improved from the latest community patch.
Jakobs Blue Sniper is not bad but elpahant gun is crap ...
sure they are powerful when they hit but I would rather find that out after the first shot not the sixth

brendan feagans just aim decently with the iron sights, I went throught Hero's Pass multiple times with the buffalo as my main sniper and I died less them 4 times, keep in mind I was underleveld by 2 levels, and most enemies on my runs where or SGT loaders or RPG loaders, with the ocasional constructor and a shiton of hyperion personel, I was 1 shoting headshoting the hyperion personel and I was slaughtering loaders, left right and center, and I'm talking about the buffalo, havent had many experiences with other blue jakobs snipers

The Volcano kicked ass in Borderlands and it came back to kick more ass in Borderlands 2

EXReimu the bl2 volcano was underwhelming. the bl1 volcano, which i just found in a random chest, is beast
EXReimu In BL1 it was practically a rocket launcher. Maybe it was nerfed, but the one I got playing BL2 Handsome Collection seems to have very little splash damage.

@@lesslighter Having a Hyperion barrel doesn't give the gun it's attached to the reverse-recoil gimmick. Only Hyperion guns have that. The Hyperion barrel just nerfs Jakobs rifles damage output, which since that's the whole point of Jakobs rifles means that one with the Hyperion barrel are trash.
To pull of those sick nasty trick shots...

Bolt guns are easier to make, more reliable, easier to use, can take higher pressure loads compared to autoloaders, and are substantially more accurate than autoloaders if set up correctly.
Most games give bolt guns an extreme boost in accuracy and damage to compensate for their low rate of fire. Guess Borderlands overlooked this idea.
Anyway, don't let a video game influence your opinion of real life firearms.

If Gearbox did with bolt-actions, as Blizzard did with D3...Take the damage, then double it!!! I wouldn't mind slower fire rate, IF it has one-two shot potential instead of 6-7 shot. Derch said it really good in one of his wish-list vids. I really do like the Hammerlock weapons. Not to use them, but i love the idea and the skins on them. One shot, one kill. Then scaling got fuc*ed up, and they became crap....

I love these “worst” Borderlands 2 videos. I can only assume that many of the weapon designers simply do not play the game. I get it that there are so many factors to consider between characters, builds, normal/tvh/uvh modes, and more......but it sucks when you get what should be an amazing weapon and its just a steaming pile of fuck.
Just going to throw in my two cents about Hyperion sniper rifles:
The only reason you seem to have trouble with weapon sway on them is that you're expecting them to work the exact same way as other Hyperion guns, which gain accuracy as you FIRE them, but their sniper rifles work a bit differently: their sway decreases as you AIM them, which means that, with a little bit of patience, you can almost guarantee that your first shot will go EXACTLY where you point it (whether you actually hit the target or not being entirely dependent on your own aim), which makes Hyperion sniper rifles arguably the best ones for engaging enemies at super long range when they can't detect you (and are my personal favorite sniper rifles). Granted, after you've gotten that first shot off and you're detected, you're better off switching over to something else in most cases. Special mention goes to the Invader though, as while I'll agree it tends to suck against most regular enemies due to how much ammo you'll usually waste (a problem it shares with Dahl sniper rifles) and the difficulty of getting all of its shots to land on target (a problem shared with Dahl sniper rifles and the Skullmasher), it's actually pretty powerful against large, slower enemies (bosses especially) with easy to hit critical hit spots (this proved vital the first time I managed to beat Eclipse and EOS on UVH in the Pre-Sequel as I had the luck to get a corrosive variant of the gun).
Also, maybe it's just me but I kind-of like certain bolt-actions (I'm mostly talking about unique ones) with certain builds, particularly if you're using the Razorback or Plunkett on Nisha in the Pre-Sequel as her action skill effectively aims the gun for you, negating the risk of missing your shot and being vulnerable for the couple of seconds it takes to cycle the bolt.
Cobra is a bad copy of omni cannon. Omni cannon is better atleast when you miss you still hit enemy if it hits the floor near an enemy it dies

If the cobra were a loyal copy of BL1 cobra... man, will be the best sniper rifle ever...
two things. 1. I actually like the buffalo. Once you learn how to use it, it's actually not all that bad. 2. It kinda sucks that the Cobra isn't as good as it was in the first Borderlands. It's also kinda funny that the Cobra was an orange rarity sniper back in Borderlands 1, but came back in Borderlands 2 as a blue rarity weapon and was still harder to get.

As far as I know, they fixed the drop rates for the Cobra so it isn't that hard to find now.

I loved the storm. Mainly because of the fact that I used an OP 8 one on normal mode. That, and I like its looks.
So you love the Storm because you can easily wreck any enemy in normal but can't man up to play on ultimate vault hunter mode to realize the storm is a bad weapon?

The Godfinger is a real piece of shit in my opinion. It has half the damage of a Jakob's Muckamuck and its special effect is too impractical to use.

superarmandbros probably be great if UVHM2 wasn't so hard...thank God in TPS they brought the difficulty down to a 1.5 difficulty and we don't have to rely off of a stupid element that is necessary in every fight.

On a recent UVHM play through I got a couple of LLM and both dropped pearls. I was excited until I realized that both were Storms. Thanks Gearbox.

I like how gearbox took the time to give the elephant gun "self aware" red text but spared not a second to improve its fire rate
I would argue that they weren't being "self-aware" there, but referencing that some people don't like it and the one from the first game. A lot of us like those rifles, and there's actually nothing wrong with them. It's personal preference.

I like bolt actions because they teach you to actually aim, not to just fire in the vague direction of the enemy critical location like with some sniper rifles (Vladof comes to mind). Also, the buffalo is awesome as a mid-range weapon.

In real life bolt actions can actually be really good, the round doesn’t expel without you choosing when to expel it. Depending on what your doing that could be important

Yes, but it's way better in the first game. Pretty much an entirely different gun. No Hyperion barrel, and much better accuracy. Also has something of a sight on it.

You actually can get the Storm in TVHM too :D At the Lootsplosion machines if you get 3 Vault symbols or roll a twenty, the machines give you a random legendary or pearlescent. That's how I obtained a level 50 Storm
