I wasn't born a Hindu, but I started following Sanatan Dharma when I was a teenager (around 2005). At that time in America, public celebrations of Diwali were few and far between. It's so great to see how many more people are discovering this holiday and with it the beautiful philosophies of Sanatan Dharma as well as the rich history and culture of India.

Light a oil lamp in your house and let the light brighten up your life with hope and prosperity and love.
    Happy Diwali 🙏

In the India it has some tradition, on the 1st day of diwali known as “Dhantera” it means we used to buy something like utensils, electronic, jewelry, etc on this day. On 2nd day, it comes “choti diwali”. 3rd day is celebrated as “DIWALI OR DEEPAWALI”. In the evening of diwali hindu people worship lord ganesha and goddess laxkhmi. Goddess laxhmi is known as goddess of wealth in hindu mythology. After worshiping, we lit candles, diyaas, making rangoli, putting diyaas at every place of our house. Ayodhya, a city in india, celebrate diwali since time immemorial when lord Rama came back to his home ayodhya after defeating the evil Raavana, that's what the 2nd mythology says....So both mythology are equally important.... Happy diwali ✨🕯️🪔🏮

People think Diwali is just a festival of lights. But it's a Scientific thing happening. Basically in the month of October, slight cold winds start to move and temperature also drops a few °©.
Solar system also creates hormonal changes in humans in October month. This all leads to depression, low energy, mood changes.
That's why from 5000 years, Indians find out way to light fire, Diyas, dance, sing, use colors for rangoli and many other things which will boost mood and increase energy level. It brings happiness and it prevents people from going into depression
