I never comment on youtube videos but I wanted to thank you for the videos you share. I didn't read the book (always fell asleep while reading) and watched your videos and just studied the concepts you highlighted. I studied for a month and just passed on Monday! I wish I would have found you guys before signing up for NASM. Watching this video in preparation for my exam made me laugh very much. I am a former D1/Overseas professional athlete and spent years training and have been around some great trainers... So I feel I learned a ton in my experiences with them. Because of this when I was going through the book I couldn't help but feel that a lot of it was poorly put together and didn't focus on the things I thought it would. While also highlighting a lot of things I found to be silly. When I got to their program design section I said to myself "I will never do this with any client". Thanks for the video!! Going to dive more into your guys stuff after I am done with the exam, as I begin my journey in the fitness world.
I passed the NASM 7th Ed CPT exam in February 2022 with just the online course (no physical textbook). Watching this video beforehand was fun! Thanks, guys!!! A good review is to print out all those study guides then follow along with all the videos with a highlighter. Then follow along again with all the audio podcasts. I took the practice exam 7 times. I took each end of section test over and over until I got 100% on each one. Whatever I did, worked! Good luck everybody!
Did you read and complete all of the chapters as well?
Where do you find the online course
All these videos helped me pass my test yesterday! Thank you show up fitness!
Thank you so much for the great videos. Yesterday I took my CPT exam after studying for 6 months and I passed!!! If it would not have been for these videos and purchasing the study guide, I would have been so lost.

I also got alot of questions on motivational interviewing, tactical and auditory cues for certain exercises, a question on hypertension, where to check pulse, stages of change, be familiar with different exercise programs if they gave you a scenario on an individual ---> what exercise program would you give? (Ex: horizontal loading, vertical loading, etc), controversial stretches

Hi, my gym offered 80% off for the NASM program, which included the entire bundle . I’m doing and reading the online modules which guide you and have you take quizzes towards the end . I believe it’s 6 sections , and within the sections the ch are divided . I’m in no hurry to take this exam and so far most of the information is very simple . What would you recommend? Should I follow those online modules , or read the book? … i know you will probably say to buy your book, which I could . But why? Does it go over strictly on what I would be tested on? Although I do agree that getting straight to the point for the exam is a good idea , it is also good to actually take proper information and knowledge within this field and actually know your stuff not just pass
How do you know this is proper information? Have you looked up the scientific citations at the end to cross reference what they're saying? I do another CZcams with the citations within the comments section from scientific journals debunking they OPT model (which was developed from a therapist, not a strength coach). There's no need to learn information that you'll never (nor should) apply to a client. Get through nasm ASAP. Then focus on learning how to program and build your confidence via anatomy. If you'd like to sit in on one of our zoom classes, let me know.
Has anyone recently passed off of this. I just signed up for the NASM course and they have a study guide is it similar to this study guide??
Does anyone know what the difference between the NASM 7th edition study guide for $50 vs the Pass NASM CPT monthly course for $77 is??
One is just the guide the other one has classes which includes the guide. It's month to month for $50 vs $77 for just the guide
Dude anybody ever tell you you look like Gary V?

Back and thank y’all!
are the questions on the test similar to the information being learned? when I took my group fitness test, the questions were not even close to what the quizzes taught.
Didn't get a single active/ underactive muscle question. They ask alot about stability exercises. All the questions were worded differently from the quiz and practice test. Still passed.

Hi I’m currently in my first semester of exercise science classes in college and just received a job but they require getting a certification so i just bought the NASM self study and am thinking of buying the 50 a month just so i can get my test done i a month or so. I was wondering if it covers the newest edition for NASM. Thanks!
It does! You'll be able to pass in 3-4 weeks. It's easy patreon.com/showupfitness
Thanks going to go pick it up! Then buy your book.
Good channel for people to waste there time instead of studying the real book
Wasting time would be reading the 7th edition textbook. 800 pages of fear mongering outdated science i.e UPPER CROSS SYNDROME lol. 90% of textbook trainers quit within 12-months, this is why! SUF-CPT trainers turn their passion for fitness into a career! Best of luck.
Should I prepare references for the information that I implement with clients plans that contrasts NASMs incorrect or out of date information for my future employer? I'm figuring they may expect my studies to be kept to if they're hiring me based on the NASM certification. Is that actually going to be a conflict that I'll run into?
No. You will find people who still believe in this so you have to play the game. For example, if you came to show up fitness with a NASM certification, you wouldn't be hired. So know who you are applying too. At EXOS, your instructor may be ACE based, so know that. If theyre NSCA, know that. The certification means NOTHING, if depends on where you go.
Update: I failed the exam. I got a 63 out of the possible 100 (it’s 120 but 20 of those aren’t counted. You won’t know which) I didn’t study consistently. Follow this guided video. I think it would help tremendously. The test isn’t hard as much as the wording used at points. I’m gonna focus on studying, and then I’m retaking it… I’m not going out like a b1tch!
Where do you want to work? $300+ to pass NASM which doesn't do anything or SUF-CPT which will make you qualified? We give NASM fails 1/2 off out CPT to prove we're the best. NASM isn't
@@ShowUpFitness honestly, I’m versed on I don’t know what I don’t know. I landed on NASM cause my trainer started their process there. I plan on going to school for exercise science and expand from there. NASM is to get more familiar so to speak!
