I did the exam before finding this channel and I failed by only 2 points, after my first try I knew what to study because the print out says what % is going to be on the test so I studied the bigger % of the exam, even though I read the chapter 2 times before taking the test again I dint really understand the concept, then I was looking for a better source of studying and tip, I came across this channel and I loved it, I found it easier to understand everything and even more interesting than just reading it, I watch every video no matter the length or if I thought I knew it, I watch every playlist on this channel, thanks for explaining everything in a way that everyone would be able to understand and thank you for making videos like this, I am now certified and I would recommend this channel for everyone taking the course or planning to take the exam, 🙏thank you 🙏

THANK YOU FOR THIS! I purchased the Self Study guided and should've purchased the guided study....because I failed the first attempt last year and recently purchased a retake for August 2023. I got a 61 on the first attempt...I was so devastated. But my issue was trying to memorize the questions and answers, which is most people who took the test said not to do. When I got my score back, I saw the Content Domain broken up in 6 sections and I was like...how am I suppose to know what to look for? This is not in my self study guide. I'm thankful I came across your video with the guide to help me know what to study for and really understand it, not just memorize it. My highest score was 70% in Professional Development and Responsibility, and my lowest was 33% in Basic and Applied Sciences and Nutritional Concepts.

As I get closer to retirement, I have decided to become a CPT. Perfect post-retirement career. However, I do not have a fitness background except for my experience with my own personal trainer. After going through all the material in the NASM online course, I wasn't passing the practice tests - just needed a few more points each time to pass. Once I started following Axiom Fitness Academy and using the videos and practice materials, I began passing the practice tests. I am happy to say that I passed the NASM CPT exam on my first attempt. I love this study guide. I intend to do the program within a month and a half. Recently coming out of nursing school, unfortunately did not pass on my 3rd semester. I have always loved fitness for the physical, physiological care and mental health aspect. Going into this, I am very familiar with the cardiovascular, endocrine, respiratory and musculoskeletal system.
My biggest question is, are 3 month’s anticipated for those who study casually and have no prior knowledge to these subjects?
I plan to watch review videos of each section to get a basic understanding. Read chapters in the book and focus on key terms and questions after each section. Then complete the practice tests, Quizlet, flash cards over and over and over again until the information is engraved in my mind.

With this video & your study guide, is it possible to pass the exam? Do you have any other resources that will also help me develop skills to actually teach/train people in real life, not just textbook knowledge? (i suppose that also comes with having my own experience too) any advice is appreciated. Do i also need the 7th edition NASM textbook along with this study guide or can i just use this? trying to avoid paying money when i dont necessarily need to. thank you so much in advance

    • @Axiomfitnessacademy
      @Axiomfitnessacademy  Před 5 měsíci

Hey there! These are pretty tough questions to answer for you because the answers are heavily based on your existing knowledge/experience. Someone with previous anatomy/physiology experience may be able to pass with just a study guide and videos, but most probably will not. The book may also not be necessary, but it really depends on what kind of learner you are.
In regards to other resources, you'll see that we have hundreds of videos here on the Axiom CZcams channel and we offer hands-on and in-person courses. I just finished chapter 5. Very frustrated. Having such a hard time retaining the information and the terms.

Chapter 5 is a tough one, no doubt! You can do it though!

I just started about 4-5 days ago. First two sections were a breeze, it's starting to ramp up a bit now though. What study habits have you been using that has helped you so far? It seems like I have 30 pages of notes already and it's starting to get a little overwhelming

@@aaronbeaver3647 I have been going off the study guide making index cards. I’m also listening to the podcast at the end of each chapter. Taking the practice quizzes for each section. Moving forward but also going back to take test to make sure I don’t forget any information. It’s definitely a lot!

@@emilysisk5163 Yeah that's the same basic study strategy that I am doing as well.
Seems like we're in a similar point so definitely reach out if you need help with any of it!

Idk if I'm alone but the stuff you study on the book are wondered very unusual when questions are asked. It's like the book didn't really go in depth to answer the questions with some of them at least. Idk of I'm alone in this

The wording of the test questions is notoriously tricky. It's important to read each question multiple times for comprehension.

Is the digital NASM textbook CPT CERT 2023 printable?
I only will have a smart phone, so reading 300+ pages on a phone could be a challenge

      Thanks, Axiom!
I bought the course with just a digital textbook. Saved several hundred of $$$, that I will use for a Precision Nutrition course later!
And this course with just a digital textbook has a highlighter feature that I use, so it works great, and I don't even need to print out the chapters. The handouts are downloadable, and so, I guess, printable if needed.
I will be using heavily your EXCELLENT videos, and the study guides to guide my review preparing for the exam, because THEY ARE AMAZING, BECAUSE YOU ARE AN AMAZING COACH!👍
