As per the Excise Policy of many States only permit the Liquor which is bottled in that state to be sold. Some times the local bottlers dilute or change the recommended direction of blending.

I agree that Grants is a fantastic and one of the most under-rated whiskeys. I first had Grant’s Triple Wood from Duty Free and fell in love with it. I then bought Grant’s in Gurgaon for ₹1000! Difference is chalk and cheese!

My additions in list, as per my personal experience. 1. 100 pipers original: taste was worst than any cheap local whiskey, it was like neat spirit 2. Dewar's imported: after having half bottle no Nasha. 3. Bacardi white rum: having it now, already consumed more than 180 ml, still no impact 4. Budweiser Magnum: taste is completely different 5. Thunderbolt: taste is different Will add more, I used to try different beers and whiskeys from Gurgaon

I don't know where you can get a genuine whisky man. Recently got a fake Red Label for 800/- in Chandigarh in sector 8 or 9 (I don't remember) and then got Red Label for 1000/- in sector 37 (taste totally different) and the 37 sec guy said some people are selling fake whiskey. I mean it was not expected in Chandigarh. You are right some kind of fake whiskey scam is running all over the Northern part of India I believe.
Never trust a shopkeeper about their comments . They are the most disingenuous and disgusting people who always bad mouth others and lack any respect. As a business owner I never ever bad mouth competition or say shit about competition. Anyway.. red label mein panga hai .. 1700 waali seriously good hai. :)

I too have encountered this problem in Gurgaon. A very big out let in Gurgaon is also selling fake whiskies. Once i bought JW Black Label. Its taste was totally different. I raised the complaint to the shop owner who flately refused to accept my complaint. All he said was raise the complaint on company website
I agree with you..same applies to whiskies or liquor bought from Daman , Silvassa ( UT ) though they are almost 30% cheaper than that of Maharashtra...One more Old Monk ( Tetra Pack ) which u get only in Karnataka, tastes completely different than anywhere in India
see the form of packaging also determines taste...plastic/glass/tetra/can all have a different imprint on the alcohol and that is obvious as the preservatives are used are different.

If people feel liquor price in delhi is high, they should come to bangalore. Straight minimum 2X approx. You need courage to drink and finish a bottle of 8-9k on regular basis. 😂
As someone who has worked in liquor industry, I agree with what he has to say, when it comes to IFML the taste varies Frim state to state, as it is being blended in different plants and also whiskey are imported in vats and then it is watered down to prescribed ABV, so the water also plays a role in taste. However fakes are also being sold but when it comes to hangover or headaches that can happen even if you are drinking genuine liquor. To avoid fakes purchase from reputed shops and try liquor which is not very popular. A slight difference in taste is acceptable in the industry.

Also G-Town ka stock no all liquors are genuine. Under 2000 are suspected. It is better to purchase 180ml or 375 ml bottle. Bcz I have tried black dog , compared to a 750 ml bottle , a 375 ml bottle tastes better and you get notes as per description.
I bought gentleman jack and many others together. The store "Discovery" gave me a bill wherein gentleman jack was excluded from computerised bill and wrote with a pen... I am not sure if it was genuine
Bought toki and double black from gurgaon. Unfortunately toki was not great and it felt so different than the previous 1 i had. Interestingly it had that party pack which i didn't see earlier anywhere. It had a glass and all along with it. Double black was original no doubt.
I did get a whiff of the spurious stuff happening in Gurugram. However, I’ve followed a simple thumb rule and it has held me in good stead for many years. I never ever buy the ‘popular in India’ brands. But I always buy exclusive premium brands like Ardbegs, Laphroigs, Auchentoshen etc. I simply stay away from the popular stuff like JW, Chivas, Glenlivet, Teachers. Luckily this has worked for me. I am subscribing to your channel with a genuine request that kindly aim at making shorter videos. If this was a 5-7 minutes video then perhaps many more people would watch it. Your content is important and interesting but 20 mins is too much to spare at normal speed (and 1.5x is not enjoyable). You are smart enough to condense this same video in under 8 mins. Best wishes 👍
I’ll try but some videos need their spacing and timing. Considering that this video got 80k views and counting I see no reason to make them smaller. Also I barely talk for 1-2 mins about each whiskey.. I’ll try and keeping a more linear detailing in next video and also creating chapters for you to navigate easier.

I wish you get 10x views and 20x likes. From viewer's point pls understand that we all watch dozens of videos on YT daily, and we all have the same limited time at disposal. I am not suggesting that you make very small videos but my humble opinion is that try to make it as precise as possible. Watch your own videos and try to figure out the unnecessary parts or if there are unnecessary repetition of dialogs (if any) etc. Even pace of your speech can be slightly faster. Dear ek baat batana chahta hu aapko.. maine October mein delhi se govt liquor shop se teacher highland khareedi thi.. kaafi halki thi as compared to Mumbai.. Mumbai is best.. costly hai but sahi hai.. 1000% geniune. Mumbai waale teacher's highland mein smokyness aur peatyness proper tha..aur fruity bhi..but delhi waali kam smoky aur kam peaty thi.. In Mumbai teachers highland is for 2700 😅 but geniune hai.

I've always felt the taste was off for Gurgaon black label because I used to buy that a lot, tried other whiskeys but still the same thing. I am wondering if you would like to do a test, I am coming to India in 2 weeks and can try to bring the whiskeys that I tried from Gurgaon that I felt were fake from here and we can try tasting them side by side. The one's I've tasted from Ggn are Black Label, Double Black, Monkey Shoulder, Grants, Black and White, Glenfiddich 12 Years Single Malt, Ballantines, Red Label, Chivas 12, Singleton, Glenlivet 12, Ardmore. I also bought a bottle of Royal Salute from the Delhi Duty Free some 3 months ago, haven't opened it yet but we can try and see if it feels like a 20k whisky or if the airport is scummy as well.

Brother you may be right for initial whiskey brands like Imperial Blue and Teachers. But have difference of opinion for Gurgaon based Red Label, Ballantine Finest and B&W which are really fine quality drinks❤ ❤❤
Thanks for bringing out the truth. Red Label, which is good only for a whisky cocktail, even that cannot be ₹800 in India, by any logical means. In the end, you get what you pay for. Please also add Indri to this list. Such a wonderful whisky, but I suspect that my Gurgaon purchase is suspect.
In uttrakhand taste of whiskey same as delhi (in 95 percent shops you will get genuine products..) Red label costs 1600 and black n white rate is 1490.. 100 pipers 1440..

Whats your review on Ballentine and Dewars White Label?
I did get a whiff of the spurious stuff happening in Gurugram. However, I’ve followed a simple thumb rule and it has held me in good stead for many years. I never ever buy the ‘popular in India’ brands. But I always buy exclusive premium brands like Ardbegs, Laphroigs, Auchentoshen etc. I simply stay away from the popular stuff like JW, Chivas, Glenlivet, Teachers. Luckily this has worked for me. Always and everytime. Cheers!

I am subscribing to your channel with a genuine request that kindly aim at making shorter videos. If this was a 5-7 minutes video then perhaps many more people would watch it. Your content is important and interesting but 20 mins is too much to spare at normal speed (and 1.5x is not enjoyable). You are smart enough to condense this same video in under 8 mins. Best wishes 👍
I’ll try but some videos need their spacing and timing. Considering that this video got 80k views and counting I see no reason to make them smaller. Also I barely talk for 1-2 mins about each whiskey.. I’ll try and keeping a more linear detailing in next video and also creating chapters for you to navigate easier.
Dear @@KanwarAnand 80-90k views is definitely a reason to cheer up but more views also mean that people got attracted to the thumbnail or the topic. Number of likes is more important than views. I wish you get 10x views and 20x likes. From viewer's point pls understand that we all watch dozens of videos on YT daily, and we all have the same limited time at disposal. I am not suggesting that you make very small videos but my humble opinion is that try to make it as precise as possible. Watch your own videos and try to figure out the unnecessary parts or if there are unnecessary repetition of dialogs (if any) etc. Even pace of your speech can be slightly faster. Overall you can optimize the content in a smarter way. Pls take my suggestion positively as a critic's comment 🙏

Dear ek baat batana chahta hu aapko.. maine October mein delhi se govt liquor shop se teacher highland khareedi thi.. kaafi halki thi as compared to Mumbai.. Mumbai is best.. costly hai but sahi hai.. 1000% geniune. Mumbai waale teacher's highland mein smokyness aur peatyness proper tha..aur fruity bhi..but delhi waali kam smoky aur kam peaty thi.. In Mumbai teachers highland is for 2700 😅 but geniune hai.
Bro I got a black label for 2200 from Gurgaon. It was surly fake. Never seen anything above 12 years to adulterated though.

There’s a place named the cellar. Not sure of the exact address but I’ve never been duped there. Purchased over 10 bottles..

Very true....I am from rajasthan...I also find there is mixing in whiskeys from gurugram, harayana n Delhi...same brands we can take 5 to 6 large peg without headache but from these places in 3 pegs we got headache

you should add Hibiki and Tallisker to the list. I have then lying in the corner of you want to taste and include. Ps. Wjhen I wrote back to the company they initiated an email to test however never came back.

I've always felt the taste was off for Gurgaon black label because I used to buy that a lot, tried other whiskeys but still the same thing. I am wondering if you would like to do a test, I am coming to India in 2 weeks and can try to bring the whiskeys that I tried from Gurgaon that I felt were fake from here and we can try tasting them side by side. The one's I've tasted from Ggn are Black Label, Double Black, Monkey Shoulder, Grants, Black and White, Glenfiddich 12 Years Single Malt, Ballantines, Red Label, Chivas 12, Singleton, Glenlivet 12, Ardmore. I also bought a bottle of Royal Salute from the Delhi Duty Free some 3 months ago, haven't opened it yet but we can try and see if it feels like a 20k whisky or if the airport is scummy as well.

Brother you may be right for initial whiskey brands like Imperial Blue and Teachers. But have difference of opinion for Gurgaon based Red Label, Ballantine Finest and B&W which are really fine quality drinks❤ ❤❤

Bro, I have felt a different taste & feel in JW Black Label, I purchased from Gurgaon and Hyderabad.
Thanks for bringing out the truth. Red Label, which is good only for a whisky cocktail, even that cannot be ₹800 in India, by any logical means. In the end, you get what you pay for. Please also add Indri to this list. Such a wonderful whisky, but I suspect that my Gurgaon purchase is suspect.
I got it for 3700 from delhi and trust me it’s not all that..
I have also experienced this when ever I drink Haryana liquor always face headache, when I drink Delhi liquor never face headache
