Lyrics:
If he could hold her, so close in his arms...again
If she could show him
The letter her heart forgot to send...why
They're livin' dreams on their own
Ooh they'll never stop running
The girl can't help it, she needs more
He hasn't found what he's lookin' for
They're still standing in the rain
He can't help it, and she's just that way
And when he calls her
She tells him that she still cares
Under the moonlight,
He wonders why she can't be there...why
Why do they go on alone
When they're missin' each other - Hudba
I'm fortunate enough to have been raised in the true generation of Journey with Steve Perry at lead vocals. Steve Perry voice is a true gift. I've been lucky to be front row and center at every concert I went to. I truly hope Steve Perry is enjoying a beautiful life for all the joy he has brought others. 🎶
Lo mismo he dicho siempre...Steve ha dado tantas alegrías a tanta gente que merece ser feliz...Dios bendiga su vida y la de todos nosotros que gozamos de oir su hermosa voz hasta hoy...
Is it just me, or did the summers in the 80's seem to last longer and were just better?
***** I kinda thought so.
It sure seemed that way, and I'm glad they were.
No, not just you....it happened for a lot of people!
THE LAST GOOD DECADE ...UNFORTUNATELY I'M NOT SURE WE COULD FORCE IT BACK INTO TIME NOW BUT IT WOULD BE NICE.
We thought the same thing back in the 60s.
Freaking insane that Perry would and could perform with they intensity and pitch perfection live in concert. Absolutely crazy. Most artists preserve their voices so they don't blow them our on tour, but Perry gave his audiences EXACTLY what they paid for. Unreal.
John Gower Yeah, and he paid for it dearly. His voice never recovered from this tour.
Rick Seely no, he’s fine, he sounds amazing on his new album. He took care of his voice. He burnt out psychologically and the way the band mates treated him was the last blow and killed his passion and love for music. Robert Plant and Steve Perry just have amazing voices that get better with age.
Steve's s a true artist
Steve Perry!
What a voice! What a performer! Amazing strength Natural wonder!
When you're as talented as Steve Perry you don't need over the top choreographed danced moves. Just open mouth and belt it!!! Todays so called artists should watch him and learn.
Perry can NEVER be replaced, EVER
I agree.
Well, He DID get replaced, by Neal Schons doing!
but it's not the same. There is only 1 Steve Perry who can sing like that with that tone, the way he enunciates and projects every syllable in a song...no one else can do that, along with the fact that he is so good looking only added to the presentation on stage.
THE VOICE!
Gary Stuckey The Voice is RIGHT!! His range is unparalleled and it never wavers! He is AMAZING! Best male voice EVER! ❤️🤘🏼
OMG...what a beautiful man....what a beautiful voice...........
Here it is summer of 2016, I am now 60 years old and have never seen or heard of any other human being able to sing without the ear buds, live and so perfect. Steve Perry truly is "The Voice" .
Oh Sheri to have lived through the years of when what I think music was at its best. I'm 20 years old and you can understand my pain if you hear today's music :(
I completely agree with you!! His voice is simply amazing😊 sometimes I can't believe how perfect his voice is WOW!!!
Steve puts his heart and soul in every song. This song may be 29 yrs old but it still kicks Ass
Steve Perry.. nothing else needs to be said...THE VOICE!!! This band in the 80's...could not compete with them.
I remember seeing a video of Randy talking about Steve Perry and how he thought there was no way in Hell that Steve could sing that way without backing tracks, and then when he heard Steve sing live he thought to himself that Steve was the greatest vocalist ever. I have to agree.
You think Steve could run around that stage and belt them out for an hour and a half like Arnel is doing now?.. better think again..
@@stevesmith9983 Arnel has never been able to come close to Perry's range and emotion. And Arnel's voice began to show signs of wear and tear after the first two years. Now, Arnel just sounds horrible.
@Limnia Amen to that
@@stevesmith9983 Arnel is not Journey Steve Perry is!
@@stevesmith9983 Arnel is a great vocalist without a doubt and I respect what he has done (and what is doing) with Journey. However, Arnel will never be a legacy as Steve Perry will always be. Arnel isn't bringing anything new to Journey sadly.
Harmonies are out of this world. Always has been for this band. The harmonies at 2:59 and on will give you goose bumps. They make it sound as if there is a whole chorus group backing them and its just a 4 part fluxuating harmony. No band is suppose to sound this good live...
+MrRadar1967 I was lucky to see this tour in seattle in 87 it was thier last one with perry on lead vocals I knew it was there last one and I was in tears when it was over and you are correct the harmonies were out of this world nailed it live. they always have saw the frontiers tour as well in 83 im a huge journey fan
I saw this tour, the tour before this and the latest tour at the 100th running of the Indy 500 Carb Day concert. You could tell Arnel was nervous. In an after concert interview he said that it was the biggest crowd that he had performed infront of. an estimated 120,000 people...
Its pretty likely this was all touched up in the studio. I can hear Steves voice in the background vocals. Regardless, you can bet it wasnt auto tuned, and that speaks volumes in itself.
I felt it
MrRadar1967. very true
The whole damn world will forever love Steve Perry, even after all these years...he is just one of those people that personified a generation, simpler times, a magic feeling...he is forever ingrained in our hearts.
Amazing. Beautiful. So happy this band, and especially this album, was a part of my life in my early 20s. As a young airman, stationed in Georgia, listened to it all the time. 1986/87, great time to be a young, single man, serving my country, hanging with buddies from all over the U.S., cruising my 1968 Impala fastback. The good ol days... This band has given me some of the best memories of my life. Especially this album!
Amen brother! I was an A1C stationed at Beale AFB, CA when I went to this very concert. "Mountain-Air" '86 in Calaveras Count. Great time to be a single guy in his 20s for sure! :)
We were VERY lucky to get rock music like this. Listening still gives a beautiful body rush, that's what rock at it's best is supposed to do. Man, three decades later this FEELS so good....
This is one of the most romantic songs I have ever heard. And when the vocalist hits the high note it is pure rapture.I love listening to this song again and again not only the arrangement the melody and the harmony and the guitar conspire to create a masterpiece in contemporary romantic music. Truly a jewel they don't make them like this anymore!!!
"The vocalist"...are you serious?! He's The Voice!
I know the guy who replaced STEVE PERRY is a very nice, talented man. But I could never see Journey without Steve Perry. EVER. I saw him when I was 15, and I can't ever go back...it will be with me forever!
His replacement is good but its not the same Journey without Steve.
+Darcy Peters Steve Augeri was the best replacement they have had. Before his voice problems acted up,he was awesome and made me willing to forgive Perry not being there. Not so into Arni.Lost interest since Augeri left.
I feel the same way. I saw them 5 times in the 80's and I could never see them without Steve..
Are you kidding me!!?? Do you see how much fun these boys are having jamming a HIT!!??
The Best lead singer in the history of music....
I saw that very concert, and even now after 30 some years the guy still brings tears to my eyes. He deinitely has the the most angelic male voice, hands down best voice ever. His voice range is incredible, he hits every note. Nothing like the autotune junk they got going on now. I ask now that everybody pray for Steve, he recently had a cancer removed from his face and has a scar from his eye down to his jaw. They think they got it all, lets please pray that they did. I love you Steve Perry. Always have and will.
How could 76 people dislike this?????? Classic Journey, classic Steve Perry! Absolutely awesome in my opinion!
for one reason only. Once you see it, randy jackson in those butt hugging spandex pants can't be unseen.
littlegoobie LMAO!!! you know that's right!! ;)
This is live no lip syncing, I love it!👏👍
You're right and wrong. They didn't record it in a studio first and then lip sync to it on stage afterwards. But they did "sweeten" this performance by recording some studio vocals a few weeks after the show, and syncing them to the tracks that were recorded live. So kind of a "reverse lip sync", you could say : )
journey at its best! No one can ever replace Steve Perry. They actually looked like they were having the best time. They have such awesome chemistry. Everything was perfect.
Not really. Chemistry was shot to hell. Steve started doing solos. Neal answered by doing solos. They stabbed long time Journey men Steve Smith and Ross Valory in the back by firing them. Far from perfect.
@@kperk1959 other way around. Neal did solo stuff first. And this was the first stop, a warm up show, for Raised on Radio tour. That is why they looked happy. Know your stuff.
@@kperk1959 I have that album with Hagar and Schon
kperk1959 actually it was the other way around. Neil was doing solo albums and Steve decided after a couple of Neil’s, he’d do one too and it became a multi platinum album Street Talk. Smith and Valory were fired because they weren’t playing right, not personal, and they admit it themselves.
Wow. Steve Perry---best lead vocalist ever.
He's spot on here and then some. Fantastic voice.
Not only spot on, but he also just makes it look so effortless. I've got nothing against Arnel, but it often seems like he is trying SO hard to belt out an imitation of Perry. Yet, Perry just stood up there -- at least back in the day -- and casually knocked it out of the park.
Darn right. No one exuded the same kind of stage charisma and effortless vocal talent as Steve Perry in his prime. I think even Arnel would admit he's no Steve Perry, and I have nothing against Arnel.
Perry's a trained vocalist/musician that actually studied music theory, studied voice and knows what the F he's doing.
Arnel needed vocal lessons when he joined Journey and he STILL needs vocal lessons. Arnel's voice is getting trashed for sure. but what I thought was really F'd up was Arnel remaking old Journey hits that Perry made famous. It was out of spite from Neal as Neal didn't want Steve Perry getting royalty checks for his vocal performances from record sales, so he had Arnel remake them so Arnel would get royalties from his vocal performances on their biggest hits. And Neal's trying to figure out why Perry won't talk to him anymore. Neal turned out to be the big asshole. Cain too. It's a drag they got to the point where they won't talk to each other, but remaking old Journey hits to sell albums so that a second rate hack cover band singer is F'd up. I lost all interest in buying newer Journey albums and attending their concerts after Perry.
But what got Neal back was that the Arnel versions simply don't sell and the old recordings STILL sell. I guess the majority of Journey fans know the difference. :-)
amen
"Raised on Radio" came around in my life right on cue! Was living in
Flagstaff AZ (1986), and dating this little Country Girl from North
Florida. We would go explore the area, Sedona, and Oak Creek, Williams, Walnut Canyon, etc, listening to this in my big 77 LTD II! It was a VERY euphoric 3 or 4 months with her, and this album, in Flagstaff, so surreal! Thank you Steve Perry, and Journey!! :)
Agree!!!!! It helps us through the bad times later on!
well put Bambi
Yup. These songs remind me of my first taste of titties!
ha..my uncle's company (bank) bankrolled this album and tour. I got backstage passes to meet the band at the Cow Palace in San Francisco in '86 that night..nicest guys ever..
tensphreak your so lucky
Best vocals and video ever, hands down.
Steve Perry had a very powerful stage presence on top of the unparalled vocals when he was with Journey. A true bandmaster with talent and leadership. He's simply irreplaceable!!!
Journey's songs are like a time machine for me, when I start listening to it, I feel I get back to those days. It's fantastic!
Levi Oliveira and this song brings me a lot of good thoughts too!
Same for me. Most of there songs take me right back to that era of time. It's like a great escape for me.
Journey at their pinnacle. They're having an absolute blast up there!
My favorite Journey song.
I was born in 1970. The 80s and 90s are by far the best era in music for me! These great voices, the sound, their energy! I wish I could go back in time and live those years once again ❤❤
The quality of this video after 3 decades is amazing
The first year we started shooting in what was known as the Dig-Alog years...Digital was just becoming a standard...the thing is we still recorded on to a tape...hard drives were just making the transition into the standard . But you are right on..the quality is pretty much as good as todays..on some levels...
Journey was so in their prime!!! Freakin awesome to watch! !!!!!!!
This one brought me to tears. Absolutely amazing. Beautiful and devastatingly heartbreaking at the same time.
That in my opinion is the one thing no one else has been able to capture for Journey since Steve Perry's self-imposed retirement/exile from the music biz:
Only Steve Perry's voice could EVER break my heart so wide open with just one song like The Girl Can't Help It.
The other singers could do the falsetto and get in the vicinity of his tone...but none of them NOT ONE has ever broken my heart like Steve Perry does on this song right here.
Unbelievable. So powerful. So incredibly moving. Journey may find others to share a passing vocal similarity to Steve, but no one can do vocally what Steve Perry could:
Convey truly heartbreaking emotions like absolutely no one else.
I miss your magical voice Steve. Yours was a true gift from God. Thank you for sharing it with us for as long as you did.
Wherever you are, whatever you are doing, I hope you have found peace, happiness, and joy.
Thank you for the gifts you gave us. God bless you. We will cherish these songs in our hearts forever.
And lest this sound like a eulogy, should you ever decide to come out of hiding or retirement and sing for us one more time, we will be there for you and with you forever.
No one sings like you, Steve, simply because: No one else IS you.
...and he did come out of hiding. :)
Well said!!!! He is the absolute best when I want to reminisce of my h.s. days, when life was such an easier, wonderful, worry free time!!! ♡ you Steve!
It teared my eyes as well. Great band, great music, great singer, and most of all, great memories.
Same Here Todd...With the passing of time (55 now & Very Tough to Type), Great Heartfelt songs like these become stories of our lives. We ALL Desperately want our Youth back and songs like this gives us that feeling we had way back when...God Bless You All !!!
🌹
This video not only provides the amazing work of the entire band, but also provides a glaring glimpse into how music could move an entire crowd to be so caught up in the sound of the music that nothing else mattered. Not pictures, not recordings, not gossiping, just so far deep into the music that it was all that mattered and you could see the entire crowd was feeling it. That is what is lost on new music today, instead people are too busy trying to capture a moment via their phone, that they end up missing the entire feeling that the show gives to a person. .
Steve Perry is argueably the greatest voice in Rock music!
TRUEFUNKSOULDIER Yes - lots of argument there...
you'd be surprised...
Arena Rock. Journey. It doesn't get any better. Bring back the 80's. My god what happened to music
WHAT HAPPEN GREEDY KIDS THAT WANT EVERYTHING FOR NOTHING AND CROOKED RECORD COMPANIES AND ATTORNEYS AND MANAGERS FOR STARTERS.....ETC....SICKENING..
ERIC EDMUND So in other words... your generation, in CEO positions?
CZcams User EVERYONE IS FUCKED UP FROM EVERY GENERATION PERIOD.
This tour with Randy Jackson on bass and Larrie Londin playing drums was absolutely awesome! I just watched this video AGAIN! SO powerful. SO clean! One of Journey's BEST!
That's not Randy Jackson from American Idle
@@rockysteel4910 Um, yes it is.
@@rockysteel4910 I like how you spelled Idol as Idle...it's very fitting. :-D
Yea Randy Jackson's presence and bass playing really fits nicely in the band. Funny how after the years still so many people don't know Randy played in Journey
@@rockysteel4910 Are you new or something? Yes that is Randy Jackson for America "Idle" SMDH
And yes! That's Randy Jackson!!!! Former judge for American Idol!!!!
I saw Journey in 1984 in Phoenix. Randy played with them then.....it was an amazing show!!! The drive back to Tucson was outstanding!!!
They're smiling a lot and carrying on because they know they're the very, very best. Watched them on this tour in Fresno, Perry's home turf. It was electrifying, and they sounded 3x better live--if you can believe it--than here on tape. And they sound heavenly on tape.
Still get chills when I think back almost 30 years when Journey came out with this song - still one of my all time favorites.
I was too "busy" back then, never saw a Journey concert -- what a huge regret!!! I can always watch this and other videos, but I'd give anything to step back in time and be there!!!
THERE WILL NEVER I REPEAT NEVER BE ANYONE THAT CAN EVEN COME CLOSE TO STEVE'S VOCALS
Who could have known that this music would define a decade? Awesome performance.
The mans voice gives me cold chills. Damn he can sing. Live or studio it's the same, awesome.
I was born in 1990 and always feel like I should have been born in the 70's. That way I would have been old enough to see all the great bands play in sold out stadiums like this. Journey, Bon Jovi, Def Lepard, Whitesnake, Aerosmith, Foreigner etc. I like some of today's rock bands a little, but I don't think these sort of bands will ever come again. Just watching these old performances gives me this almost feverish feeling of excitement that I don't get at all with today's acts. So to those of you that got to experience these awesome musicians in their heyday, I hope you realize how lucky you are. Cherish those memories.
I'm sure there is a special blessing for you Steve Perry for sharing that voice with the world that God blessed you with and all of journey.
when the concerts were REALLY lit.
..with truly great, REAL musicians.
2012endofanerror what was a concert back then without Bic lighters?
Musicians that actually played their own instruments and had actual talent.
So excited that Journey are up for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and have the most votes, and probably will be the number one winning group! One of the greatest concerts out of many I've seen and would love for Steve Perry to rejoin!
THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE R&R HOF AT LEAST 10 YEARS AGO!!!
When and where was this concert? Thanks!
Couldn't define the date of this, but did you notice that is Randy from Star Search is playing on bass!
I saw them on this tour November 21 1986 they sound. Better in concert than studio such passion. Like every song they sing is for you
I think this is my favorite Journey song.....Steve Perry looked absolutely amazing and sounded absolutely amazing. The band as a whole sounded so tight.
This one and I'll be alright without you. My two favs.
As a musician, it is what we all strive for. Leaves me speechless and that's a real fucking tall task.!!!
You are so right Carol queen they kicked ass I was born in 1967 was part of the late 70's and 80's rocked with a girl like you
Mine too boy we had great music like journey
Journey was able to do all kinds of work most bands then or since simply cannot. It's really loving your job.
You know a band is kicking some serious butt onstage when a guy, in the audience, pulls out one of his crutches & starts waving it around in the air. (2:37) Haha.
Tobias Chance I know, I thought the same thing. :) To go through so much pain/pain in the ass to walk on crutches & in a PACKED venue..Says it ALL!! SUCH an INCREDIBLE BAND & concert!!! Journey is one of the top 5 I wanted to see perform live before I die..Even though their front man sounds a lot like Steve, he's not & it will NEVER be the same w/out him. lt's like Foreigner trying to replace Lou Gram, NOT happening!!
I really don't think he has anything wrong with his leg, but it has a meaning of 'break a leg' when shows/concerts are being performed. They are waving it around to tell the band 'Good luck!' I've seen this at several concerts.
+KoolCat ! that crutch guy's in a lot of Journey's live video. I wonder why. Wow
sky stryker it means break a leg, or good luck
Michelle Kopecky but he;s in a lot of Journey's live concert videos, which of course were filmed in different years. No way the same crutch guy went to each concert and coincidentally got filmed for a live video.
Steve's voice was made for arenas !
It's great we have all the music of Journey when in their prime available to us. And Steve's voice being young and strong.
My dad took me and my friend to see them in Hampton Va Nov. 6, 1986, I was 15, I will never forget! Great concert!! My friend kept mentioning how Steve Perry’s voice pierced the concrete! Powerful and great voice!!! Thanks dad! R.I.P. Dad. Still LOVE Journey!!!!
This is real music! I loved growing up in the 80's!
Still the best. That voice, those harmonies. Heaven still.
Journey - Girl Can't Help It -Released: 1986
I was stationed at Kadena Air Base,Okinawa.
Amazing times
************************************************
I was a room service waiter at the Biloxi Hilton when Journey stayed there in 1980.
Yes,I actually met them and shook hands with them the next day after their concert.
"The Babys" were their opening act.
I was SO in love with Steve Perry when I was a teen. No one will ever fill his shoes in Journey.
The Voice Steve Perry will forever be the greatest singer of all time. God bless him!!!
1986 ... thirty years went by faster than I had anticipated.
Same here. I was only 15 and 16 years old (my birthday in July) in 1986. I'd give anything to go back in time. I'd have all of my hair back, if I could do that. Getting old really sucks. We will still have our precious memories forever, though.
Ditto ☺
Amen to that.
Back then, I saw them on 12/30 & 12/31/86 at Long Beach Arena. First night was sold out, but the second night, the arena was only half full, which surprised me because it was New Year's Eve, & the tickets were more expensive than the previous night. The price ? $25.00. If Steve came back (he won't), I bet the half full arena wouldn't happen today, regardless of price.
Don't you know she still cries for you?
I could watch this over and over again, cause the girl can`t help it :)))
I Love this video. I was there at thst concert. Damn he looked so good. But at the end of the song I gave him a rose that he held up at the end. Neal Schoun was amazing and showing how much he was enjoying himself. Will never be erased from my mind. Love you Steve 💜 💜 💜 💜
Wow, that's cool that you're the one that tossed the rose. I always like that part when he holds up the rose.
I know this to be true the 1970's and the 1980's were a one time event for music like this song never to be heard again; I feel lucky enough to have lived in these decades when music was original and the lyrics were sung that meant something.
me too Braxton, it was the best time for music. No doubt.
I'm 54 and love journey now more than I did when I was young I wish I could see Steve Perry live
Braxton Oertwig Me too!♥️
Born in 57, I got to grow up thru all the 60s,70s, and 80s Rock. Then overnight...... it all went away. What We all wouldnt give for a wayback machine. My daughter will tell any one shes an "old soul" My music is what she Rolls to. Shes 16 by the way.
Steve Perry=Best. Voice. Ever. Always so effortlessly phenomenal.
LOOOOVE HIIIIMMM!💓 Seriously from the very first line, he takes my breath away! I screamed myself hoarse at that concert. And all these years later, I'd do it again.
This is my second favorite Journey song of all time, only second to Don't Stop Believing
They were in their vocal primes during this period.
So true.
0:50 Steve is in his element
This instantly brings me back to 1993. This sounds amazing. The vocals.....not just Steve Perry, but the harmonies are spot on...strong and balanced. You don't see that much anymore in a band playing live.
David Martone
David Martone that's true.I don't know any band plays that great nowadays.80's and 90's music are phenomenal.
David Martone .... This takes me back to 1986!!! I was there!!!! Was truly blessed to see Steve Perry/Journey 5 times... Miss him!!
David Martone fair point, but even more fair is the point that there isn't an environment for this type of music any more. Not in America, anyways.
I am so glad I got to see the Steve Perry Journey!! He may not sound the same but he still has that component in his voice that makes him unique. I am so glad he came back one more time! Muah!
One of the best rock songs ever and the video is way up there as well. From Steve Perry's "for the ages" lead vocals to the back-up vocals and harmonies by Neil, Randy and Jonathan to their superb musicianship, it all works perfectly. A lot of people who only know Randy Jackson from American Idol may not know that he was a world class bass guitar player who recorded and toured with Journey for a couple of years and also played with a lot of big names in the music business. Arnel Pineda, Journey's current lead singer, is very good but there's only one Steve Perry and he will always be the heart and soul of Journey.
Best singer of all time.. !💜
It's like he is singing directly to you.Love Steve perry. THE VOICE .Those eyes .Just truly The Most amazing singer ever.
American Idol judge and former Journey member RANDY JACKSON DESERVES A WHOLE LOT MORE CREDIT for his kick ass bass slapping skills. Funny after the years SOME still don't realize it's RANDY'S BASS PLAYING THAT REALLY WOKE UP JOURNEY'S LIVE PERFORMANCES. Raised on Radio period is as good as it gets. Steve Perry makes it look damn easy in this video. NOBODY SINGS OR WRITES LIKE STEVE PERRY!!!!
BAM !..the vocals gave me goosebumps
PERFECTION, Steve's Vocals POWERFUL and crystal clear and the Harmony with the Band was just Awesome !!!
Awesome! Ahhhh, concerts before cell phones, when you could let the music take you over, without pausing ever 5 seconds to take a photo........ to bad the youth of today reallly is missing something powerful
Raised on Radio Rocked... Steve's BACK... !!!!
"Fire. . . There's a fire in his eyes for you. Do you know she still cries for you?" Heartbreakingly beautiful!!!!!
Such beautiful harmonies at the end.......Perry's voice really comes alive and soars when supported by harmonies as in this song.
fligemon
My absolute Favorite song by Journey ...AND.. Yes Steve come back
PLEASE
Journey best group ever during the Steve Perry era
Yep same old beautiful, PRODUCED harmonies as occurred with LOVIN', TOUCHIN' SQUEEZIN' with the exact same CUT OFF of the instrumental parts as well!
he rocks the hell out of his voice
The amount of awesome 80s music new to me I have found here on CZcams is ridiculous. Thank you, global company!
Man, what a song!! Great video...Steve looked good! God, I miss my youth, and the 80's....such a magical time!! Randy Jackson on bass too!
there is no substitution for Perry ever...this was Journey
I agree man 100%!
Totally agree. Anything after Steve Perry is just a Journey tribute band.
amen Boss,he is Rock&Roll
jimmy shine I'm liking your picture! Greeen and wrinkly?😂😂😂
You got that right!
I miss the 80's so much and the music was truly fantastic! Journey was and still is the best.
I love the spray bottle at 3:36 hahaha! Legendary! This show is buck WILD!
Saw them 29 times..omg Steve and niels hair even outgrew the 80s..ive nothing but LOVE for probably one of the BEST BANDS EVER. it will NEVER be put back together again though.
I love the stage chemistry that Steve and Neal had, like the part at 1:49 where Steve walks up to him, looks down at his guitar, and has this look like "c'mon, let me hear it." Awesome!
Fell in love instantly when i heard it the first time! ^_^
He's the best
Vega Libre me 2🤙🤙
Randy looks like big papi
Vega Libre me too.
mee too & it was few days ago..thnx god they have done this song in last century.Where was I exactly in 1986?!I am sorry Journey I didnt know U that time..hmmm
Steve Perry is phenomenal, and so are the rest of the group-- "Love JOURNEY" And this Girl Can't Help It "!!!!
Journey was at the top of their game here. Steve Perry, what else is there to say? When a band sounds better live than they do on the lp, you've got something special. And to make it look sooo effortless! This came out in 1986, the first year of my Air Force term, and gave me soooo many good memories. My favorite Journey album, and one of the best out of all the 80s iconic stuff! We miss ya, Steve! Journey is nothing but a cover band without you. Neal, Jonathan, give him a call and do a small stadium tour! You know you'd sell out! I'd buy a shitload of tickets and bring all my friends.
Love crutch dude ...he is so happy waving his crutch he forget about his hurt leg. The guy is a hero.
Den Boe. Luv Crutch Guy.
He's got a huge fan base!
🤗
Those were some days in 86! Shame some of that fun isn't coming back!
You are so right!
Some of that fun needs to come back!!
NO ONE WILL EVER BE THIS GREAT AT SINGING ROCK WITH THIS MUCH SOUL - STEVE PERRY - THEE VOICE
luv this vid ~ reminds me of seeing Journey on their ROR tour @ BSU Pavilion, '86... I was 15 y.o. & it remains my fav concert of my life; kid u not, every song Perry sang he sounded perfect - his voice irl was absolutely phenomenal. I could not appreciate his gift of voice had I not heard it live.
I saw it too in California. Cow palace
Was my favorite too, until I saw him solo in 1994 on FTLOSM tour. Both tours ended prematurely, so was lucky to see both.
Steve Perry is, hands down, The Greatest Rock Balladeer of All Time. Who in their right mind could argue otherwise? And the fact that he is just as effective with banging, up-tempo material (think "Separate Ways") makes his talents all the more astonishing. Robert Plant may be the canonical standard by which all male rock singers are judged, but it seems pretty clear to me that Perry has always been his equal, and in some ways possesses a more interesting voice insofar as he sings in a high register yet still has a pronounced rasp. It is such an unusual and beguilingly effective combination.
I can't be more pleased that Journey was announced this week as one of this year's six inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It is a long overdue accolade, as the band was first eligible in 2000. Better late than never, however, and I can only hope that Perry is willing and able to sing at the induction ceremony in 2017.
My second favorite Journey song. From a time when live bands and singers sounded just like they did on their albums. Thank you, God, for bringing these talented people together to form such a unique sound.
Definitely wish I would have made it a priority to see the original group in the 80's. Will always regret that. So glad we have CZcams to watch these shows...
The greatest of all time.!! If it brings you to tears of joy, then you get the meaning of life. If not, sucks to be you!!!!
