  • Every Ejection for Joe Girardi as New York Yankees skipper! He will be missed. He’s one of the greatest managers of all time and had some of the most epic meltdowns in baseball. 10 years strong as Yankees manager. Won a World Series in 2009. Won manager of the year. Made the playoffs 6 of his 10 seasons.

    No matter what you think of Joe or the Yankees you can’t deny Joe always had his players back. Right or wrong he would run out of that dugout in a second.

      tinyman520 isn’t his cold relationship with his players why he got fired

    • @tinyman520

      Noah Culbreth maybe? But he still ran out faster than any other manager to try and save his players from ejection...

    • @hterbluc
      @hterbluc Před 6 lety +1

      tinyman520 sure but clearly at the end of the day it wasn’t enough. If it was they would’ve resigned him. For all you know he is great at defending his players on the field but does little to nothing to connect with them off the field. The example I remember hearing was he had a really cold relationship with Gary Sanchez, which I’ll give joe credit, Sanchez kinda seems like a douche. That being said though it’s joes job to connect with him and build an effective relationship with him and understand his needs as a player, and according to the Yankees he did not fulfill that job to a satisfactory manner. So all these people sucking joes dick kinda look stupid considering even the Yankees organization didn’t think he was that great

      That's a hard one. He's definitely one of the more animated managers. I also know Lou Piniella, Jim Leyland, Don Zimmer, and Billy Martin were very animated with their arguments as well. Martin was even suspended for throwing dirt at an umpire.

    the YES Network did a piece on Girardi once where they revealed that he and his youngest daughter had a tradition that any time he gets fined from an ejection, he'll give his daughter the honor of mailing off the check for the fine. He's a consummate family man and I'm sure he makes it a teachable moment for his kids in showing them that his players were like family to him too, and sometimes you have to stick up for your family even if it might have consequences.

    I'll say it, if the Yankees never got rid of Girardi after '17, they would probably have a world series or two by now. Girardi only got one real go-around with the "Baby Bomber" Yankees and managed to get them to within one game of the World Series. The team had so much potential then, most of which has been completely wasted by now. It's a shame.

      Agreed. The Yankees made a big mistake in that regard

    My favorite Cubs catcher and was one helluva manager. The Yankees have been so lucky to have him.

    Say what you want about Girardi but he carried the Team he managed in his heart like it is his Family.

    I always laugh at the 1:29 clip because judge is just out of focus in the background looking like he's afraid someone will yell at him next.
