- A week today, the world lost a gem of entertainment. Peter Sallis was a British icon with 'Last of the Summer Wine' - the longest running TV comedy in the world, and then a global icon with 'Wallace and Gromit'.
He was absolutely brilliant in these shows, and it is such a shame he has left us. He was one of my many inspirations of acting.
See Ya Peter.

Still watch the repeats on Gold/ Drama . Just love 💕 them as I’m from Yorkshire n was a Bus Driver for 36yrs n drove once to Huddersfield.
I started balling and couldn't finish watching, I used to watch it with my mom here in the states on our local PBS station, we were actually lucky to get a total of four different ones in the new York new jersey area so we got all the British shows, mom passed away in 2014 at 92 years of age and I miss her everyday, I have 50 or so VHS tapes full of British comedies and they still play as good as new, RIP summer wine cast members, you were loved the world over.
Wonderful actor and gentleman. The best British comedy ever, God bless all who took part, xxx

my favorite character. rest in peace cleggy, hope to meet you on the other side.
Great series. Boys who grew into men but never really grew up, or lost their love of life and sense of the ridiculous.
Deep down that’s what we all crave but life is not always like that unfortunately. Shame, people would be much happier .
Beautiful tribute 👍
Thank you so much for sharing this video, Peter was a lovely and charming gentleman. 😥😥😥🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Please bring the show back on !!!!
Im sad that there are all gone
Didnt even know cleggy died... loved the original episodes
My favourite was Blamire..but if I’m not mistaken Peter Sallis was the last surviving original cast member
See ya Cleggy!
In Getting Sam home the film. They play the theme tune with the words at the beginning. Just so you know

Gostei 👏👏
" I don't Believe It!!"
a great show even to this day as its still shown nightly on drama on freeview-sadly most of cast now deceased-as a great fan im sorry to say it lost its way near the end of production with certain cast members leaving and others of poor acting ability being brought in-- peter and tuly of the yard appeared less and less because of ill health and mostly insurance reasons----scripts where very poor by 2010 and it rightly ended
🥰😪
What a pity thee are no subs - can't understand a word.
