This is incredible but sometimes musicians don't put as much effort into covering their old songs because they don't feel the emotions as strong as when they first wrote them. I feel this is the reason a lot of people think their favorite artists "change' as time goes on.
+FreakyKing2 that's true, like if eminem tried to sing cleanin' out my closet or any other song he wrote about mom he wouldn't sing it close as he used to he's got the respect now for mom he said it in headlights

Nobody talk about how good Eminem was rapping perfectly because everyone know he's the Rap God and will be always be perfect. So let other artists shine.
I from France this song have changed my life in my 12-13 years old, one of the first rapper i didnt know english lyrics and i know today , he is the best alive.
The details on how he composed his lyrics in most of his songs are so descriptive and expressive to the point that I as a listener could picture every verse as a scene in my head so clearly, like watching a movie.
This gotta be the best live rap performance ever. You can hear every single instrument, the drums, the guitar and so on. The melody from the hook, every single word from Eminem's mouth, his flow, his wordplay, his cadence! You're listening to the song and you get carried away with the appalling storytelling. It's like he's just talking to your soul and heart at the same time!
I can't believe how beautiful this is. honestly. the music is bone-chilling, and he is flawless here with it. there is emotion in this that i haven’t seen before when he’s performed this song. it’s like stan is disappointed as opposed to angry. it’s like a new perspective and it’s really beautiful.
This song honestly paints such. A vivid imagery in your mind while listening to this song the artistry and pen game is insane he's always been different and on a whole nother level, LEGEND! ❤️ Em is GOATED 🐐

I know you got my last two letters, I wrote the addresses on 'em perfect So this is my cassette I'm sending you, I hope you hear it I'm in the car right now, I'm doing 90 on the freeway Hey Slim, I drank a fifth of vodka You dare me to drive? You know the song by Phil Collins, "In the Air of the Night" About that guy who could a saved that other guy from drowning But didn't, then Phil saw it all, then at a a show he found him? That's kinda how this is, you could a rescued me from drowning Now it's too late, I'm on a thousand downers now, I'm drowsy And all I wanted was a lousy letter or a call I hope you know I ripped all of your pictures off the wall I love you Slim, we coulda been together, think about it You ruined it now, I hope you can't sleep and you dream about it And when you dream I hope you can't sleep and you scream about it I hope your conscience eats at you and you can't breathe without me See Slim, shut up bitch! I'm tryin' to talk! Hey Slim, that's my girlfriend screamin' in the trunk But I didn't slit her throat, I just tied her up, see I ain't like you 'Cause if she suffocates she'll suffer more, and then she'll die too Well, gotta go, I'm almost at the bridge now Oh shit, I forgot, how am I supposed to send this shit out? My tea's gone cold I'm wondering why I Got out of bed at all The morning rain clouds up my window And I can't see at all And even if I could it'll all be gray Put your picture on my wall It reminds me, that it's not so bad It's not so bad Dear Stan, I meant to write you sooner but I just been busy You said your girlfriend's pregnant now, how far along is she? Look, I'm really flattered you would call your daughter that And here's an autograph for your brother I wrote it on the Starter cap I'm sorry I didn't see you at the show, I must of missed you Don't think I did that shit intentionally just to diss you But what's this shit you said about you like to cut your wrists too? I say that shit just clownin' dog, come on, how fucked up is you? You got some issues Stan, I think you need some counseling To help your ass from bouncing off the walls when you get down some And what's this shit about us meant to be together? That type of shit will make me not want us to meet each other I really think you and your girlfriend need each other Or maybe you just need to treat her better I hope you get to read this letter, I just hope it reaches you in time Before you hurt yourself, I think that you'll be doin' just fine If you relax a little, I'm glad I inspire you but Stan Why are you so mad? Try to understand, that I do want you as a fan I just don't want you to do some crazy shit I seen this one shit on the news a couple weeks ago that made me sick Some dude was drunk and drove his car over a bridge And had his girlfriend in the trunk, and she was pregnant with his kid And in the car they found a tape, but they didn't say who it was to Come to think about, his name was, it was you Damn!

This is how rap/hiphop should be played. With REAL INSTRUMENTS. Not those fucking computer shit of nowadays. THIS is music, not that shit you kids call rap nowadays. See how much more it gives it to the performance?
Wu Tang And that's totally ok man. The fact is that i'm talking about nowadays. Nowadays MOST (don't mean everyone, i said most) are just lazy and relies too much on computers and premade beats to write "songs". That's my issue. I love me some good old rap/hip hop. He's like the only rapper that sounds the same live, and in the studio.
You say this on a song where he sounds nothing like the studio version?
Uhmmmm... NF
He actually has a different tone to him in this. Seemed like a down environment tho.
Nothing like the studio version
As much as I like Eminem, most of the performances I've seen have been lip synced for a bunch of it. This wasn't
He isn't as angry as he used to be.
+cc22ful Probably because there's no reason to be, he's gone through all his shit
em is angry in the third and fourth part but he didn't perform it on BBC
+Cr4nium13 lol
+cc22ful Cause he's got the money now yo!
+cc22ful Growing up does that. Hes a father now.
I don't know who has come up or comes up later Eminem remains the best rapper have ever lived
Goosebumps before he even opened his mouth!
This song still gives me goosebumps

The ability to sound exactly like the original studio version is legendary.
an artist like him cannot be compared to anyone because one sees the experience and the work done!!
This is so upset me when they cut the Dear Mister part.
Jake Fotograffix I don’t understand?
@@youcantseemeyoucantseeme6432 he didn't do the last verse of the song.
He didnt do the second to last verse
@musicalthinker it does make sense though
The part when stan put his girlfriend in trunk?
This is incredible but sometimes musicians don't put as much effort into covering their old songs because they don't feel the emotions as strong as when they first wrote them. I feel this is the reason a lot of people think their favorite artists "change' as time goes on.
I approve this

+FreakyKing2 that's true, like if eminem tried to sing cleanin' out my closet or any other song he wrote about mom he wouldn't sing it close as he used to
he's got the respect now for mom he said it in headlights

@@mrwhippy3756 thanks man ima check em out
eminem is such an amazing artist. Live perf is always on point. Props to all performers here. everyone's awesome
We want mockingbird live AND WHEN IM GONE mah dream.
agreed!
Everybody thinks that he probably would break down in tears in the middle of the song. I think that too.
Wewillnever Forgetyou I've seen it, but he was doing playback, it was really clear. Anyways, I can understand he couldn't sing because he was feeling really sad. I guess from that date he didn't perform Mockingbird again.
the last time he performed mockingbird was at rapture 2014 and you can hear he was about to breakdown and start crying
EpicDude LOLYOLO Oh, I didn't see that part, could you please send me the video link?
Absolute classic tune
Ooo mine too Macheala Gill !! One of his first hits this! Love it still today.. ;-)
Nobody talk about how good Eminem was rapping perfectly because everyone know he's the Rap God and will be always be perfect.
So let other artists shine.
This song must be one of the greatest masterpieces ever. Just pure brilliance.
I from France this song have changed my life in my 12-13 years old, one of the first rapper i didnt know english lyrics and i know today , he is the best alive.

The details on how he composed his lyrics in most of his songs are so descriptive and expressive to the point that I as a listener could picture every verse as a scene in my head so clearly, like watching a movie.
man eminem's voice is so clean feels like im listening the non live version
This gotta be the best live rap performance ever. You can hear every single instrument, the drums, the guitar and so on. The melody from the hook, every single word from Eminem's mouth, his flow, his wordplay, his cadence! You're listening to the song and you get carried away with the appalling storytelling. It's like he's just talking to your soul and heart at the same time!
Its so sad when we see Em perform alone without the sinergy Proof used to give him...as his right arm on everything.
+RoncaBaixo RIP Proof.
damn I was like happy before reading your comments but know I feel this blue / I probably don't know him personally but R.I.P Big Proof
Who cares.

Love it how cool Eminem performs live. Too cool.
i listen to this 10 times everynight while studying in my room. Thank you god for letting me live this time .
Platinum masterpiece of rap. Thanks, Marshall 🙏🏼
I can't believe how beautiful this is. honestly. the music is bone-chilling, and he is flawless here with it. there is emotion in this that i haven’t seen before when he’s performed this song. it’s like stan is disappointed as opposed to angry. it’s like a new perspective and it’s really beautiful.
i miss this voice (:
he sounds pretty angry in his songs now but i still respect him, just nice to hear this.
part of evolving
***** Nah man, he sings the way he likes to sing. Nothing about his voice. Listen to more than 2 songs new songs of him.
+Tiffany Mathers Lol, he also sounded angry before, especially in The Eminem Show. Sounding angry is a part of Eminem.
i agree with you
U serious
I like the fact that Eminem uses 2 different voices in the original song🇿🇼🇿🇼🔥

My tea's gone cold I'm wondering why I
Got out of bed at all
The morning rain clouds up my window
And I can't see at all
And even if I could it'll all be gray
Put your picture on my wall
It reminds me, that it's not so bad
It's not so bad

Dear Slim, I wrote you but still ain't callin'
I left my cell, my pager, and my home phone at the bottom
I sent two letters back in autumn, you must not-a got 'em
There probably was a problem at the post office or somethin'
Sometimes I scribble addresses too sloppy when I jot 'em
But anyways, fuck it, what's been up? Man how's your daughter?
My girlfriend's pregnant too, I'm 'bout to be a father
If I have a daughter, guess what I'm a call her?
I'ma name her Bonnie
I read about your Uncle Ronnie too I'm sorry
I had a friend kill himself over some bitch who didn't want him
I know you probably hear this everyday, but I'm your biggest fan
I even got the underground shit that you did with Skam
I got a room full of your posters and your pictures man
I like the shit you did with Rawkus too, that shit was fat
Anyways, I hope you get this man, hit me back,
Just to chat, truly yours, your biggest fan
This is Stan

I ain't mad, I just think it's fucked up you don't answer fans
If you didn't wanna talk to me outside your concert
You didn't have to, but you coulda signed an autograph for Matthew
That's my little brother man, he's only six years old
We waited in the blistering cold for you
For four hours and you just said, "No."
That's pretty shitty man, you're like his fuckin' idol
He wants to be just like you man, he likes you more than I do
I ain't that mad though, I just don't like bein' lied to
Remember when we met in Denver, you said if I'd write you you would write back
See I'm just like you in a way
I never knew my father neither
He used to always cheat on my mom and beat her
I can relate to what you're saying in your songs
So when I have a shitty day, I drift away and put 'em on
'Cause I don't really got shit else so that shit helps when I'm depressed
I even got a tattoo of your name across the chest
Sometimes I even cut myself to see how much it bleeds
It's like adrenaline, the pain is such a sudden rush for me
See everything you say is real, and I respect you 'cause you tell it
My girlfriend's jealous 'cause I talk about you 24/7
But she don't know you like I know you Slim, no one does
She don't know what it was like for people like us growin' up, you gotta call me man

Dear Mister "I'm Too Good To Call Or Write My Fans"
This will be the last package I ever send your ass
It's been six months and still no word, I don't deserve it?
I know you got my last two letters, I wrote the addresses on 'em perfect
So this is my cassette I'm sending you, I hope you hear it
I'm in the car right now, I'm doing 90 on the freeway
Hey Slim, I drank a fifth of vodka
You dare me to drive?
You know the song by Phil Collins, "In the Air of the Night"
About that guy who could a saved that other guy from drowning
But didn't, then Phil saw it all, then at a a show he found him?
That's kinda how this is, you could a rescued me from drowning
Now it's too late, I'm on a thousand downers now, I'm drowsy
And all I wanted was a lousy letter or a call
I hope you know I ripped all of your pictures off the wall
I love you Slim, we coulda been together, think about it
You ruined it now, I hope you can't sleep and you dream about it
And when you dream I hope you can't sleep and you scream about it
I hope your conscience eats at you and you can't breathe without me
See Slim, shut up bitch! I'm tryin' to talk!
Hey Slim, that's my girlfriend screamin' in the trunk
But I didn't slit her throat, I just tied her up, see I ain't like you
'Cause if she suffocates she'll suffer more, and then she'll die too
Well, gotta go, I'm almost at the bridge now
Oh shit, I forgot, how am I supposed to send this shit out?
My tea's gone cold I'm wondering why I

Dear Stan, I meant to write you sooner but I just been busy
You said your girlfriend's pregnant now, how far along is she?
Look, I'm really flattered you would call your daughter that
And here's an autograph for your brother
I wrote it on the Starter cap
I'm sorry I didn't see you at the show, I must of missed you
Don't think I did that shit intentionally just to diss you
But what's this shit you said about you like to cut your wrists too?
I say that shit just clownin' dog, come on, how fucked up is you?
You got some issues Stan, I think you need some counseling
To help your ass from bouncing off the walls when you get down some
And what's this shit about us meant to be together?
That type of shit will make me not want us to meet each other
I really think you and your girlfriend need each other
Or maybe you just need to treat her better
I hope you get to read this letter, I just hope it reaches you in time
Before you hurt yourself, I think that you'll be doin' just fine
If you relax a little, I'm glad I inspire you but Stan
Why are you so mad? Try to understand, that I do want you as a fan
I just don't want you to do some crazy shit
I seen this one shit on the news a couple weeks ago that made me sick
Some dude was drunk and drove his car over a bridge
And had his girlfriend in the trunk, and she was pregnant with his kid
And in the car they found a tape, but they didn't say who it was to
Come to think about, his name was, it was you
Damn!
Eminem is such a great guy, you can just tell he gets lost in his songs they mean so much to him.
2020 I'm still on the VIBE zone. 🤘
Anyone think Eminem should release this on an album? The bassline and the drums are to die for. What a song. LEGEND.
Em sounds so fire with real drums and instruments crushing a beat. He should do a whole album like that sometime
This song means the world to me. Heard it when I was going through some dark times. Not sure what kind of emotional impact this will have on me when Eminem comes to Cape Town to perform. His music resonates with me so deeply. Empowering to listen to it. Imagine when seeing it. x

The song is very long that it takes 6 years to recommend me on my youtube
Beautiful just beautiful
After so many years his voice still soft singing this song.
This is how rap/hiphop should be played. With REAL INSTRUMENTS. Not those fucking computer shit of nowadays. THIS is music, not that shit you kids call rap nowadays.
See how much more it gives it to the performance?
Your my man!
DAT bass and drums tone guys. no computer can replicate that.
They both sound good
Wu Tang
And that's totally ok man. The fact is that i'm talking about nowadays. Nowadays MOST (don't mean everyone, i said most) are just lazy and relies too much on computers and premade beats to write "songs". That's my issue.
I love me some good old rap/hip hop.
It hasn't to do anything with liking rock or any other genre. It's about MUSIC.
*****
True. Tho in my book, real instruments played by people will always be better than a machine reproducing binaries.
And in this performance of Stan, is undeniable.
This is fire❤️🔥

It feels quite weird seeing Eminem rapping to this in 2013. I feel like Em's evolved way beyond Stan and it's almost like he's a different artist in this video compared to the artist he was back in 2000 when he released Stan.
His old tracks are his best work
@@lionezrsik I guess we can't avoid being nostalgic. I feel the same about almost all things from the 90's and early 2000's.
yeah I agree but he was trying to probably channel some of his old self at this time as seen with the haircut and the song to match
Well well . This guy was a dope since he dropped his first song .
