- If you like feeling like there's a rock in your stomach, then you'll love this full movie reaction to The Strangers!
*** If this is really based on a true story PLEASE DON'T TELL ME ABOUT THE REAL MURDERS!
Y'all if this is actually based on a true story 🗣 PLEASE DON'T TELL ME ABOUT THE REAL MURDERS!
It’s very loosely based on real murders and combines a few incidents in one. No actual real life event happened based on the plot of this movie
React to more Chucky
Honestly, I feel that the second film is better than the first one. It’s definitely more slasher than this one. But I like them both.
It's loosely based on the Manson murders and the director's/writer's witnessing to break-ins in his childhood neighborhood ❤️
It's actually not based on any specific murders. The director denied the Manson comparisons, and claimed it was based on break-ins in his neighborhood when he was a child. The burglars would knock on doors and burglarize the homes that didn't answer. If they did, they'd ask for someone who didn't live there and move on. Still creepy af!
I'm watching, but I'm wearing the full armor of god with me cuz this movie left me in shambles
Is Tamara home?
Tamara is the real victim here. Poor girl can’t catch a break 😂 always being mentioned
When are we getting a collab?👀
Lol your reaction to the movie always makes me laugh cause the devil is a lie with the home invasion stuff
Girllll
this movie came out when I was 12 years old. I begged & begged my Mom to take me to go see it. She finally agreed, and it scared us both to death. When we got home from the theater, we sat in the car both too spooked to even get out of the car and walk inside. When we finally opened the car door, the car alarm started going off & we both screamed and ran inside the house. When we got in, we laughed at ourselves for being so ridiculous hahahaha. We talked about it for years.
She was my best friend. She passed in a car accident last year. I still miss her all the time, and this video reminded me of that funny memory we shared together. Keep doing what you do Alanda, can't wait for the next video.
I’m so sorry for your loss, she sounded like an amazing person.
She sounded great, I’m so sorry for your loss
Sorry for your lost
I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope that memory of you guys laughing after getting scared helps comfort you. ❤️
OOOH my heart just broke for you!😔
“Because you were home.” The fact that there was no real motive. That line alone gave me chills. As soon as I heard “see you later” I would’ve dipped. Ain't no way I’m staying after hearing that. 🏃🏼♀️💨
Yeah, complicated motives can be interesting but this is one of the things that makes the Strangers scary: they don’t need a motive. There’s three of them and they will play with you like killer whales play with their food.
I like how the movie had basically no soundtrack, it relied on pure noise, knocking on the door, windows, the screams etc .. Prey at Night is very different in that regard but I still enjoyed it, the trio was definately more experienced but way too cocky
THIS LINE HAS HAUNTED ME FOR YEARS I WILL NEVER GET OVER IT 😭
And then them taking off their masks, implicitly telling them “We don’t care if you see our faces, you won’t get out of here to tell anyone” arguably as chilling as “because you were home”
I worked at a movie theater back in '08 -- my first job -- and I brought my Mom to see this. As soon as that opening voiceover took hold, she turned to me: "Dan, what the fuck did you bring me to?" RIP, Ma. The OG who introduced me to horror movies 🎃
LMFAO
@@brittany5872 That poor woman 🤣 before she passed, I think the last flick we watched together was "The Witch" haha which is terrifying
RIP 🙏🏻💚
I’m always jealous of folks whose parents introduced them to horror flicks. Your mom sounds like she was pretty damn cool.
One thing about Alanda is she’s always gonna serve looks. The outfits, the hair, the skin, mother is feeding us!
Yesss 💕😍 breakfast lunch dinner and a SNACK
The lavender lace, the pointy ear jewelry! She is the moment.
Y’all are so odd with this “feeding and SNACK” shit. Like are you alright? She’s looks amazing but come on now.
@@Sam13806dont be boring
@@Sam13806agreed
“who lives in a house with no way to look out the door” is exactly what I question every time. Like no peephole? Just vibes and a prayer. Even sometimes they do have peepholes and still just swing the door open . Like come on now, y’all don’t tiptoe to the door and look out to see who knocking at your door when you not expecting anyone 😭
"Just vibes and a prayer" 😂
Lol your comment is sooo true🤣🙏🏻
I mean, the peephole would’ve been useless anyway, seeing as Dollface took the bulb from the porch light.
"How dare they ruining the night of your rejected engagement!" 😂
When doll face said, "because you were home," I got chills. I remember watching this movie a few years ago and being terrified. 😭
The Strangers Prey at Night is a fun sequel. There's no connection to this one except for the killers themselves and is an homage to 80s slashers, whereas this one was inspired by 70s home invasion films. A huge recommendation for that one as well!
They filmed most of it where I'm from. Kincaid Lake is in my home town.
but there’s gonna be a new trilogy reboot (like the halloween blumhouse trilogy) i hope there’s connections to the first and second one but i doubt it
The use of songs is fantastic. Total eclipse of the heart , live it up and in particualr making love out of nothing at all makes the movie a joy to watch i's like juke box horror.
love the 8os soundtrack
2 is after this one.. so there is a connection
“Because you were home” will forever shake me to my core 🥴🥹🤣
Its also a really fucked up thing to say to someone you don't even know!
@@lavendergold6379 if they had knocked on my door, that would have been an accurate statement but they definitely didn’t call her a hoe LMAO 🤣
"they live messy. In a shoe box! Like it's glue sticks for a craft project!" 🤣🤣 I love you, your commentary is always top tier haha
"Do you not have peripheral vision, are you an owl?!" the way she said that had me absolutely dying.
@@Kaltagstar96 she's so gd funny 🤣🤣
"Sinister" would be a great horror film to watch. The music is unsettling, disturbing images, a great story and concept... and very effective jumpscares... one of my favorite horror films of the last 20 years
Yes, I wanted a backstory for sinister 😩
yes! sinister is such a fun watch. but saying the story is great is a stretch lol. the characters are so dumb the decision making is kinda of annoying but honestly the movie is so out there and crazy its still worth seeing it. cant wait to the the new one.
@@nallari411 Well diacovering the tapes, watching them, realizing whats happening... all that is a what I call à good story. The characters acted pretty in situations where they had no contrôle and I dont think it would've changed the endind no matter what. Btw im trying to keep the discussion as spoiler-free as possible
@@thedragon12 is this tape thing on sinister 2? i havent watched it yet so idk
@@nallari411 yes but the second film sucks compared to the first movie
I’ll never forget, the day after I saw this movie for the first time someone knocked on my door and asked for someone who I didn’t live with. Honestly one of the scariest moments of my life
i think that was happening alot after it came out. like that killer clowns trend
I watch a lot of horror and this movie is one that truly terrified me. I saw it in the theater and the moment when Sackcloth Dude just silently comes out of the dark hallway and stares at Kristen in the kitchen was epic. The lower left part of the theater noticed it before everyone else and gasps and screams went across the theater like "the wave" at a sporting event. It was a great theater experience.
The Man in The Mask
The realism of it all was terrifying. Not everyone is a Sidney Prescott in real life and to know that evil like this takes victims like this…it was one of the most terrifying movie theater experiences ever. Luv Tyler was phenomenal though. Staying at high levels of emotion like that…she killed it (no pun intended)
The shot of Man in the Mask in the background while Liv is in the kitchen - legit one of the scariest moments. Ever.
Because that could happen. The realism of this movie is why it is so goddamn unnerving.
I can't stand it.... I walked out the first time I saw it. Ptsd
The director has said that this film was inspired by an incident from his childhood. Someone came knocking on his door asking for someone that didn't live there. Later he learned that a nearby house had been burglarized.
It has been speculated that the film was loosely based on the 1981 Keddie Resort murders.
Random but I’m dying laughing because in the new Chucky series Chucky is being a straight up menance and trolls people asking “Is Tamara home” 😭😭😂
I remember watching this in cinema and I was so blown away. So many horror movies go from drama or a more stylised look, which isn't bad at all, but I happen to LOVE grounded and realistic horror films. This one was so realistic it hurt to watch, because you could so easily see it happening for real.
“Now I know good and well, Jehovah’s telling you to keep it pushing.” I’m actually a Jehovah’s Witness and this was the funniest thing ever I nearly died 😂
This movie was so effective and just so disturbing especially the ending. Like the couple is completely hopeless in a situation like this and there’s no help coming for them.
" Because you we're home." Such a simple yet terrifying line as of today it still gives me chills and goosebumps.😱😰
Because you we are home.
I saw this movie in theaters when I was 16 and to this day is still one of the scariest in theater experiences with a giant crowd I have ever had in my life. Horrifying
Liv should have really been in more horror, she's the perfect actor for it
@Ks she looks like a real elf queen
her eyes lol they portray really well
As I said, I love this movie. In a lot of ways it reminds me of the original Halloween. It has a simple story and it uses acting, atmosphere, and simple techniques to execute it superbly. And girl, what I love best about your videos is that you put yourself in the movie too, lol. And honestly, you are usually the best character 🤣🤣🤣. Anyway, love you girl!
So many good lines from you in this reaction!
Another great home invasion movie: Hush. It's directed by Mike Flanagan, and written by him and his wife, Kate Siegel, who plays the main character as well, a deaf writer. I love the movie.
Mike Flanagan also just makes amazing things. You've stuck to movies on the channel, but it would be awesome to see you watch The Haunting of Hill House. 10/10 show.
Seconding HUSH!
Everything by Mike Flanagan is gold! Hill House is amazing! And I loved Hush!
Yesssss Hush was horrifying but so good!! I need her to watch that too!
when she said "wrong house b itch keep it moving" i died lmao
While it’s never been my favorite home invasion horror movie, the “because you were home” line still remains to be beaten as one of the best moments of the sub genre
When she said “Because you were home…”😮 I died the first time I saw this! 😂 from that moment on it became my favorite home invasion till this day.
My fav horror movie honestly. It never fails to give me chills on the things that can happen to you “because you were home”
I’ve been struggling a lot lately, and I’ve been finding comfort watching your reactions.. they feel like we’re just hanging out and watching a movie together. thank you so much for being so great and doing what you’re doing. ❤️❤️
Hope you find the way to rise above whatever it is you are going through. Her videos are amazing.
Virtual Hugs bro
She has a very comforting energy.
I’m glad you found something to comfort you. I hope you can get through it & find peace. You’re doing great so far 🤍
OMG YES GIRL YES!!!!!! this movie seriously had me on edge the whole time. the lack of background music made it SO realistic omg
GIRL‼️ THIS MOVIE took me for a ride! I was on the edge of my seat. That scene in the kitchen where you can see the person in the bag mask lurking behind…I WAS SCREAMING 😱
The best shot from the whole movie.
Tackling her in that moment was devotion and true love. ❤
I remember seeing this in theaters… even as a young teen it left me speechless and afraid to be home alone for awhile. 😂 Great movie!
Purple is such a cute color on you!!! Stay flourishing queen!!! I think this story is scary for the mere fact that they are not supernatural. They are just regular ol crazy.
The "true events" that its based on is Charles Manson murders and the unsolved Keddie murders. The part about asking if tamara is home is based on something the director went through as a kid. One night when his parents were away, he was at home with his sister. After hearing a knock on the door they asked who it was and were asked if someone who didnt live there were home, obviously they said no the guy went away... They learned later that those people were doing that because if they didnt get an answer, they broke in and stole stuffs..
wow , that’s actually dark as hell-
@@yugen8195 I read it and now can’t sleep 😭
Is this the same guy who made Black phone?
@@callherfoofoo no the director for "The Strangers" is Bryan Bertino
This movie terrified me. So bleak and tense. I loved experiencing your reactions. I laughed so hard alongside your anxiousness and frustration. It's so infuriating that they didn't fight back much at all and let fear paralyze them.
You've become a hardened horror veteran! Love it
such an iconic movie!! the tension is built so well!! and i personally think "Because you where home" should be up there with some of the most iconic lines in horror movie history - fab reaction as always
I loved this movie when it came out. And your reaction to it is so hilarious. We can definitely tell you've been on a slasher journey on this channel based on the way you react to this. This has got to be one of my favorite reactions of yours so far!
I was SO excited to see you react to this!! The tension of the movie itself combined with yours....I've seen this movie several times and I was still clutching my pearls!! And may I add, beautiful as ever girl! Much love 💜💜💜
So happy you reacted to this movie. This is my favorite horror movie of all time. Very realistic and scary still to this day. So unexpected. Thank you so much. 😊
While I don’t rewatch this movie at all just cause I’m not that big about home invasion horror movies this is definitely iconic. From the simple masks to the continuous build up to it being based on a true event or at least inspired by one.
My favorite home invasion movie! It gave me nightmares, which doesn't happen usually and I even wrote a song about the movie 😁
Love your reactions as always Alanda ❤️
And that outfit? An absolute serve!
I watched this movie at the theater when I was 12-13 and it was amazing! It had everyone scared and nervous. I absolutely adore these kind of movies that scare you without needing a ton of blood and gore
The sequel isn't as tense or bleak, but "Prey at Night" is still a fun watch. A glorious, over-the-top callback to classic 80s slashers.
Your reactions are hilarious!! I definitely recommend "The Haunting" (1963) and "Fright night" (1985) :)
You reading them to filth brings me so much joy! 🤣 No one invades this house without hearing something from Alanda!
This movie terrifies me. I was 19 when someone broke into my home while I was there alone. It was truly the worst experience of my life thus far (hopefully nothing worse ever happens). I heard noises at the side door and checked the window to see a large man coming from the back of my house, onto the side porch, and then I hear these loud thuds and banging. He was breaking down my door. My scrawny ass grabbed a big kitchen knife, my cell phone & my elderly dog and hid in a crawlspace upstairs while calling the cops. Still not sure if her knew I was home or not, I like to think he didn't know and truly wasn't intending on causing me any harm. The police got there and found him hiding in a closet with a 'weapon' in his pocket. Still don't know what that was to this day. Try not to think about it. Literally never felt safe again alone and have PTSD to this day about it. That is a sacred space and it is so violating to have someone do that and ruin my home and security. Now living in a new house with my husband, but my parents still live there. We have a security system now and I have much more peace in my new space, but still jump at the smallest sound. Fuck home invaders.
I remember when this movie first came out. The "because you were home", I swear this is why I do not answer my door.
If you want another realistic, slow-crawl horror film I strongly suggest the aussie film Lake Mungo. It's done like a documentary, and is quiet and introspective, but imo it is well worth the watch. It doesn't bother with big action scenes or CGI demons, and instead leaves us with more 'real' horrors like grief, secrets, and unanswered questions.
Yeah! Slow burn, but I loved how the story did a 180 and turned out more realistic than you'd expect
This is one of my all-time favourite movies and your reaction (as always) was everything!! "I guess they're meant to be witnesses" had me cracking up!
I remember watching this in the theater. The entire audience was shook. They both (especially James) do some stupid things but the set up is still creepy.
This movie scared the hell out of me when I saw it in theater. Needless to say, I still check the doors and windows to this day.
I remember seeing this in theaters... Those sharp loud noised boomed so loud in the theaters. Man my whole entire theater screamed in unison soooo many times. I feel like everyone that watched this back then bought extra security means... We were SHOOOOOOK!!
I'm not too sure if you watched the extended version, but there's a scene where the friend’s cell phone rings and Liv Tyler all bloody and stabbed crawls across the floor but they snatch it from her and leave to bleed out
I am fucking dead!! They open the door the very first time and the girl goes “hiii” and Alanda said “shut the damn door!!” 😂😂 same
Skin glowing, hair poppin, fits fabulous, demeanor sweet 😭😭 you’re literally the best Alanda ❤️❤️
Live for the soft, pastel fashion 💗
"Because you were home" is an introvert's nightmare. Sirs and Madams I am always home, please go find an extrovert they'll definitely open the door for you. I army crawl to the back of the house to avoid being spotted through windows on the regular so good luck trying to make contact.
What makes it even more tragic was the helplessness we the audience feels for the couple. All you can do is watch it all happened. And for what? Just because. THAT... is scary. No real reason at all. Just random. They didn't know these people at all. Things were bad enough already beforehand because they'd just had a fight. Then they had to fight for their lives and lost.
That shit is heartbreaking but also more believable since stuff like this do and does happen in right life. It's scary to think about. Sometimes its easy to forget that humans are the biggest monsters of all.
Now you gottaaaaa watch the sequel, The Strangers: Prey At Night. It’s more of a fun chaotic slasher than a moody home invasion movie, so I found it a lot more palatable to my taste of horror genre (even though I do love the og). Definitely recommend because the scares, set pieces, everything is just soooo fun and exciting. Messed up and brutal as is expected, but still a very fun sequel.
forever one of the scariest movies of all time. and ACTUALLY scary, it creeps you out so good and leaves no redemption at the end. True horror at its finest!
This is an absolute modern classic , I love it ❤️
After this I'm going back and watching @ZZAVID reaction again that is one of the best reactions on YT
I love the Content , always here for more 🙂
Hope your having an amazing Spooky season Girl
Keep it up an keep it 💯
"Guess it's their job to be a witness..."
ALANDA!!!! THE WAY I SCREAMED
I remember an actor I like talking about how this movie terrified him because it made him think through so many scenarios in a home invasion and whether he would head straight for his family or straight to his guns.
the atmosphere in this movie is crazy. been waiting for you to finally react to this
I saw this movie for the first time a few years after it came out when I was in college. It was the first horror movie to truly terrify me in a long time. Also...watching this now, it infuriates me that James came in, didn't believe her, and took her weapon away! Like, sir! I would like to live, please! And the fact that he lied about knowing how to use the gun? Mm mm, no sir.
"Nothing about this is giving 'best friend!Mike can handle it'" Love your commentary.
Saw this in the theatre and my shoulders were not lowered for weeeeks from the stress!
The way they should have drove tf away from the house after she said “I’ll see you later”
Your reactions are always great 🤣Also love the elf ears! 🥰
This is the only movie I've ever seen that really got to me. Like truly, deep down, got to my soul. So it was tough to watch Alanda go through the same thing. This is a rough one and not one I would ever care to revisit on my own (or even with my husband or friends present).
I remember when I first watched this movie. My God, the main character pissed me off in the 2nd half of this movie, she had SEVERAL chances to run and get help or break into a neighbour's house and call the cops
This movie is one of the most unsettling I have ever seen. Why? Because there is no motive for the behavior. If ever there was a movie that demonstrates the trauma that can result from a violation of boundaries it is this one.
Omg those elf earings are life... If I wore earings I'd ask where you got them from.
I know we never know exactly how we'd react until the situation arises, but I'd vote Alanda in charge IMMEDIATELY in a situation like this.
Saw this on a whim, in a mostly empty theater (which added to the creepiness) and was the most scared I had been at a horror movie in over a decade. So much tension in this film, and they accomplished the rare feat of not always being able to predict where the scares were going to come from.
Yoooo I was totally freaked and
annoyed with this couple. Your reaction is amazing as always.
You should watch hush! I think you’d love it! Or when a stranger calls remake is super fun
And I also love how much you are so in to this movie when you react to it. And I was so into to this movie too. And I love just watching movies with you a lot Alanna Parker.😊😊😊😊❤️❤️❤️❤️
I'll never forget seeing this in theaters when I was a 11 and going home absolutely traumatized
"Please turn around and see this mfn sack face!!!"
This was all gold.
the ear cuffs are gorgeous!! You'r horror videos give me an extra boost
I watched this movie at 13 years old in my garage. We had a computer in there and I came across it somehow lol in the dark, headphones, wasn’t suppose to be awake lol scared the hell out of me!
Woww this is probably one of the only horror movies that made me want to lock my doors at night. The part where he plays the same piano keys as her at the ends gave me chills. Like he was there the whole time 😵💫
Good luck girl, I remember watching this movie with my dad. We rented it but he left to go get something from the store so I was by myself watching this movie. I don't remember what time of day it was but let me just say it left a lasting impression. I only will watch reactions to this movie but for me to pop this on at night by myself...I don't think so. My favorite aspect is that there's no actual motivation, at the end she just says "It's because you were home" and I love it. No back story. Nothing complicated. It's just something that has happens.
This is one of very few horror movies that has actually scared me
I love how she was about to throw hands with Doll Face 😂
Yay!!! So excited!
The Strangers: Prey At Night was super good as well!! Definitely give that a watch if you can! ☺️
It's always a joy seeing a girl as genuine as you 😇
your videos and commentary give me life every time ILY ❤
Yaaaasss! Commenting before it starts - The Strangers is one of my favorite movies of this genre; I'm excited to see your reaction! The first time I watched this, I had asked my older brother to recommend a good movie. He knew I was going to be watching it at night while alone at home 🤣. I had my surround sound on, literally speakers surrounding me, and I'm telling you, that very first knock on the door, and then the knocks when Kirsten is alone, with surround sound...! And with the narration at the beginning, the premise and the setting (so, seeming like a realistic possibility of this happening to oneself irl), coupled with the sounds, just add to the fear while watching! Also, all of the music is so creepy, and telling; not to mention when Dollface tells them she'll see them later when she first appears, and she likely unscrewed that lightbulb, and the way she looks past James to look at Kirsten to check out who is in the house...
"I guess it's their job to be a witness..." OMFG!!! I AM CRYING!!! Alanda you are so funny!!!!
Yes! One of the best scary movies that's pretty scary. Watching this in the theater you could feel the tension in the audience. Part 2 is more funny, not scary, unfortunately; but, some good kill/action sequences. Also, the duo are in Jame's father's house so he didn't really use the gun or know where the bullets were being in his dad's house. Although, maybe his dad should have or would have shown him at some point. Lol Your reactions are the best! Always enjoy your videos and responses.
“I guess it’s their job to be a witness” pls 😭
Another home invasion film that is worth a look is Funny Games from 2007. It is actually a remake of a film from 1997. It stars Naomi Watts and Tim Roth.
Yes, Funny Games is great; I was wondering if anyone mentioned it. If she checks it out, I hope she sees the original though.
@@viviandarkbloom4339 Yeah. I just like the cast of the remake more.

also, love the Arwen ear jewelry!
The first time I watched this I was in high school with my two best friends. This movie scared us so bad that me and one of my other friends had to drive home and we stayed on the phone with each other until we got inside and locked our doors 😂 fond memories
"I guess it's there job to be a witness" plus the guilty chuckle... I was wtching this on break at work and had to hold back my horse laugh. Those boys were Mormon but that joke was too good to pass up.🤣🤣🤣
