- Here is some of the footage I captured while in Iceland during the end of October to November. All footage was captured with a Sony a7s, Canon 7d mk ii, iPhone 5 and DJI 3 pro.
All northern lights footage is real time with no noise reduction. Some clips were time warped to show the movement. I will be working on the time lapse northern lights and other footage from Iceland which will be posted in the near future.
Lo mejor que he escuchado estos últimos 10 años... Un verdadero delirante poema musical..

Awesome video! Thanks for sharing. Iceland is the most amazing place I have ever been.
Lucky enough to have visited Iceland 4 times since 2016 and am still yet to see the Northern Lights. Am hoping on my 5th visit in March next year I will finally see them. Iceland is my favourite travel destination and I just love visiting.

Thanks for this amazing video.
Lots of people say the weather in Iceland is kinda unpredictable, but is good for me to have an idea about exactly this time of the year (october and november), specially seeing plenty of places not covered in snow.
Goose pimples......Just stunning, Thank you

Went to Iceland back in 2019. Saw the northern lights 2 times. I love it there I want to go back. The landscape there is breathtaking and the northern lights will take your breath away.
This is incredible.
Excellent!! Makes me want a drone 😍 for my trip to Iceland.

Want to go back!! Iceland is absolutely stunning
VERY BEAUTIFUL
O my GOD!!!
I just love it..........😍
Great footage, is there any chance you’d allow us to use some in our next music video? We are an indie Glasgow band. Best wishes.
You can see the northern lights in Iceland from September to April. I went at the end of August and into early September. The weather was cool but not cold. Some days were rainy/ drizzling but it cleared up in a couple of hours.
Amazzz dis video ❤️!! release my stress💋
Best Video 😍!!😮
WOW! That footage from the plane! I am traveling to Iceland in November this year and traveling over night. I hope to see this while flying.
why is it not green like in other videos? is it coz of the time of the year?
Spots to best view the Northern Lights in West Iceland please? Thank you 👍🏻
name of the soundtrack that you use on this video please thanks..great video!
Awesome! You got the NL on the flight 😇
Music, please?
WOOOOOOOOOOOW
Great!!!! and Thanks for Video, Can u tell me how to setup camera to take real time aurora video.
Not many camera's can capture real time aurora borealis. I used the Sony a7s as it is great with low light as well as a f/1.4 lens. Then I set the camera to extremely high ISO's to capture the video.
Wesley Liikane thankssss for answer
Probably the best island on earth.
May i know which area that found the northern light?
Yini Teo we found northern lights across the entire island, with the north eastern side having a great chance of clear skies. I recommend renting a camper van, checking the weather and drive for clear skies. That is what we did while driving around the island and managed to get many nights of aurora.

Hi Wesley, Such a beautiful video- your footage is out of this world! We have been planning to do a camper van or motor home trip in Iceland over the same time of year (last week of oct, first week of nov 2017). I couldn't WAIT and was about to start finalising all the bookings when I came across a whole lot of EXTREMELY negative posts on trip advisor by locals saying that due to the wind and snow and ice etc that doing such a trip is way too dangerous, reckless and "suicidal" (an actual quote), and they posted lots of scary videos of vans being blown off the roads and down cliffs... I was considering cancelling the whole thing. I've been looking for reviews of trips from that time of year to try understand the situation better which is how I came to your video. Was wondering if you wouldn't mind giving some first hand insight into just how much truth there is to the terrifying warnings? Clearly you had an amazing time, which makes me want to not cancel and still go! Of course we would pay close attention to weather warnings etc, but the posts genuinely made it sound like "go to iceland in a camper van anytime later than mid october and prepare to face your gloomy cold ice death".
Jessica du Plessis I rented a camper van from "Campeasy" the staff were great and very helpful. My friend and I lived in the van for 13 days traveling around the entire island from the ring road, west fjords and even got into the highlands for a bit. The wind in Iceland is like nothing I have dealt with before but living in Canada I have driving in much worst snow/ice conditions. You must drive according to the weather is all. We had no issues but one time along the southern coast, near Vik we did stop and took a longer break due to the wind, we could have kept going but we figured better to be safe than sorry. A side note is the southern coast tends to be the windy area and the north east tends to be the greatest chances for clear skies
Hello, so did you go ?
Planning pretty much the same thing.
Did you have a good time ?
Thanks
wonderful video !!!!!! music by ?????
Breathtaking and beautiful. Great drone photography. We're going in Nov. 2018, can hardly wait. Thanks a million, Bill in Pittsburgh, PA.
Great video. What's the song?
Thank you Mike, the song was from a royalty free site and I think it was called "emotional background - malinconi."
Can I ask what type of camera are you filming with.
sharon love this was captured with a Dji 3 pro, iPhone, Sony a7s and a Canon 7d mkii.
Is oct or nov a good time to see northern lights?
Ich möchte auch nach Island gehen 😍
Nice video! What song is that? So sad but amazing at the sime time.
VRV Shazam it!

Amazing video! I'm planning to go there the last week of October. I really hope we can see the northern lights. :) Do you think a point and shoot like the RX100 M5 be enough to capture the northern lights?
Arman Mislang almost any modern camera, especially under good condition in Iceland will capture "photos" of the Aurora. A long exposure and tripod is the basics to get the photograph but if you want really good northern lights images I would recommend a mirrorless or dslr camera and a wide angle lens with a fast aperture. I this trip I used a Sony a7s and a Rokinon 14mm f2.8 and 24mm 1.4 for photos and used the 24mm for the videography in this film.
Very nice, was all of the grass brown by this time of year?
John much of the grass was yellowing at this time of year October/November.
Such a great clip! May I know where the waterfall is @ 6:54s in this video? :)
Thank you. The waterfall @ 6:54 is in the Westfjords and is called "Dynjandi".
What settings did you use to capture the lights?
thedownsclan the northern lights in this film are live video using a Sony a7s and Rokinon 24mm 1.4 lens with the ISO settings varying from night to night.
Beautiful video! we also travelled a week in westfiorjds this july - such an incredible place! loved your video, very inspirational
I want to come back again in October, for one more wedding and want to visit north part of Iceland. And I really liked this place - 8:54 cave with water. could you please tell me where is this place?
Katya Mukhina thank you! The cave is located near Myvatn. It is a really cool place to see just make sure to bring a cloth for the lens and allow the glass to adjust to the temperature inside the cave.
Beautiful ❣😃
did you travel in a van?
Jessica Gutiérrez yes we did. We rented from Camp Easy. It was a great experience.
A Islândia é o país mais lindo do mundo
8:54 WHERE IS THAT AWESOME PLACE????????????????????
Raphaël Cloutier that place is called "Grjótagjá" and I located in the north, near Myvatn.
Awesome. A pleasure to watch. I'm visiting for a week in November and wondering how far to travel around the country. How many nights/days did you stay?
Susan George my friend and I stayed in Iceland for 14 days, 13 of which we lived in a camper van.
@@WesleyLiikane were you able to sleep anywhere or did you have to go to a campground?
