Astounding footage, fascinating history, superb narration...with some device drama mixed in lol....again, one thumbs up is not nearly enough here. Definitely not a cheap country for sure. I wonder what's more challenging..sticking to a budget, or trying to pronounce some of the names of those places omg. Well so glad you retrieved your drone. Great job guys. Understating it. Great vlog, learnt a few things for our upcoming trip. Interesting comment you made about flying a drone, also helpful as I had wondered with all the drone footage you had. Tempted to buy clothes for the colder temps over there that we don't usually get in Adelaide.
There are some stores over there that sell good quality warm clothes! I found it hard to find stuff here in Australia too! Luck ALDI had a snow clothes sale a few days before we left!

Oh definitely. Can I ask how you guys are able to travel for 6 weeks is it? Financially that is. Plus taking time off work.
@@Thebeach22 hey good question - it was a combination of a few things! we saved for it $$, i get 6 weeks of paid holidays a year, Braden works for himself so he is very flexible with his time, we flew standby everywhere so took advantage of extremely cheap airfares as well as cheap accommodation and travel insurance. And finally it is something we value and prioritized above doing other things. In saying all of that - I don't think we will be going a big trip like this for a good couple of years :)

When going to Iceland, you need to embrace the rain, you'll get used to it, and the warmth later (especially in your high end logdings, I'm used to standard hotel rooms or B&Bs) will be even more relaxing.
I see you fly a Mavic 3 as well ;) (Sorry, after your drone comment in the video i deleted my sentence about it not being allowed in some places...)

we went in may! from my research i thought may was a good time to go - but i guess thinking about it there has to be a lot of rain for iceland to be so green and beautiful.. so i wonder if it rains all year round?
This trip looked incredible! #1 on the bucket list for sure. Interested in what the drone laws are like there if you had any experience to share :)
I remember looking into it before we left. Can’t remember exactly what the rules are now, but I remember we were fine to fly the air 2s as long as we weren’t flying over people etc (similar rules to australia). It’s more nuanced than that, but as we were only ever flying in open areas without people then we didn’t have any issues

I genuinely love the way you’ve structured the vlog. My wife and are are traveling to Iceland with our two kids in two weeks. This video has been very helpful. Any chance you can tell me what camera you primarily used? iPhones don’t seem like they will do Iceland and I’d love to look bad on great quality video with my kids in the future.
Hey! I used the Sony zve10 for majority of the filming, but we also used the canon r6 mark ii for the really nice shots and we used that for photos too! I hope you have the best time in Iceland it is such an incredible place!!

thanks for the video :) can I ask how cold it was when you were there? I'm planning to go end of August and I was told to take layers&waterproof parka which I thought would be sufficient till I saw your video :D
It might be warmer around august time!! average was around 10-12 degrees Celsius. But the rain and wind made it feel colder. waterproof boots are a must as well! I would just Bring extra warm clothes just in case!

Did you hire winter jackets or you bought them with you from Australia?
We bought them from ALDI before we left!!! Haha and the shoes too! But you can hire stuff over there if you need! We ended up shipping our coats and boots home at our next destination because we didn’t need them anymore!

Is it true the water in "The Blue Lagoon" damages your hair or is that just a myth that someone on Tik Tok made up?
I’m not too sure - but when visiting the blue lagoon they suggest putting conditioner all over your hair like a mask & recommended to not put your hair in the water!
