Your pants matched your cabinets so perfectly that it looked like half a person floating around. You are so magical 😊
✨💖
Now i cant unsee it 😂
@@ringrocking I know, right!! 😆
Yeah they did. Now i cant unsee it...haha
Haha now that’s all I can see 😂😂😂
The trick with the Vitamix (or any blender) is liquids first- soft things THEN frozen stuff on top! It blends soo much better… it’s insane!
When you make smoothie bowls, HIGHLY recommend letting the fruit sit out in the blender and thaw slightly for about 10 mins before blending. that way you add too much liquid and it not only blends faster but also gets creamier and thicker
For the smoothies add sweetened condensed coconut milk. That makes everything lovely
Yesss, or I just use whipping cream and powdered sugar. I also add in a splash of vanilla and a tablespoon of powdered milk, because I like that back-end texture it gives it. Like in an orange Julius.
I feel that garlic situation so deeply😂 When a recipesays something like "Add 1 clove of garlic." I usually throw in like half a bulb😂🤤
The first few times I cooked I thought a clove was the whole bulb. Haha 😂 love me some garlic
I did that making my own pesto last week and actually for the first time used too much garlic. It was like burn your throat amounts of garlic lmao
It's just like vanilla extract. You're suppose to measurs with your heart, not a spoon! Lol
To get some crunch in that pink pasta you could toast some sunflower seeds :) It goes great with beets and goat cheese.
I feel like we need a revisit every year or so with all the ones you guys actually liked and still make because I always forget 😭
My sis-in-law makes the beet pasta and drizzles balsamic vinegar and olive oil over it! It is delicious! (She also uses fresh mozzarella to garnish with basil)!
This extra hint I feel it needs to complete it compared to the mint! Def trying your version out ☺️
This sounds so much better, I was thinking it needed acid like a lemon juice
A frozen banana to the mango smoothie would add that sweetness you're looking for. I love blending coconut milk, frozen ripe bananas and lime.
I will be trying the milk toast. I dislike french toast because of the egginess. So I am excited to try this new version. Thank you for finding the recipe! =)
I hope you love it too!!
I never thought of that. Which is nice cuz sometimes I don't have eggs and vanilla and cinnamon to make French toast.
Will have to try making the milk toast for my mom cause she doesn't like French Toast because of the egg
I made something like this once but soaked lemon and orange peels in cream overnight. Soooo tasty!
Does any kind of bread work?
Frozen stone fruit like mango, peaches and nectarines blends really well. Frozen banana & pineapple also blends nicely. I add either cold water or milk of choice to get the blender going. 😊
My SIL make us French Toast breakfast whenever we visit her but I'm allergic to eggs so she has always added cinnamon, vanilla and a bit of sugar to cream that she dips the bread in after it's browned in butter for me. (because she's so sweet and never wants me to miss out on what everyone what is having. ☺️🥰).
Also. I think the tiny bit of sugar she adds helps caramelize it and gives it more of a true French Toast texture.
It's crispy and amazingly delicious.
But I never knew it was and actual thing that other people do. ☺️
I’d be curious to know how the mango smoothing bowl comes out when using the ninja ice cream machine. It does have a smoothie bowl setting.
Nadiya Hussain (she's amazing) did a beetroot pasta on her Netflix show with dill, chili, a little lemon. No mint, no pistachios. It's really good!
there have been times where i’m so low and all i wish for when i open youtube is that you’ve posted a video. Rach i know you might not even see this but you’ve genuinely helped me through some bad nights. love you so much
You two are ALWAYS so precious together. Don't ever let him get away.
I agree with Chris. I haven't found anything better than a slice of cheese in a bowl of ramen.
I can't help but be so curious about the cheese slice in ramen cause I see that almost as much as people just chucking an egg on instant ramen because people swear that it makes it better, but I'm also nervous I wouldn't like it and have to dump a perfectly good bowl of ramen...
@@lacytaylor1501 I wasn't sure I would like it either. But, I tried it and it is really good. It gives the ramen a rich creamy taste.
@@robylove9190 Hm I'll probably give it a try one day. Right now I'm more of a simple broth type with my ramen but with my obsession with trying to put cheese in whatever I can, it probably won't be long till I go for it.
@@lacytaylor1501 You might try putting a piece of a slice in a bowl and add a small amount of ramen to see if you like it without making a whole bowl. That way you waste a whole bowl if you aren't a fan.
@@lacytaylor1501 I tried the egg in ramen and had to throw it away. It made me so queasy! The texture was very strange.
I've never added Greek yogurt to ramen, but I have added sour cream before! It cuts heat, and makes it nice and creamy!
I've made a version of the pink pasta with beets, ricotta, and lemon with walnuts on top, and it was really good!
Okay so Rachel I have the perfect Indian recipe for you!! Super easy too. The milk toast right- If you want to make it into a top notch dessert, here's how you can make a 'shahi tukda' that's pretty famous in India (and maybe Pakistan too)
Ingredients:
2 slices of bread
Butter
Milk/ water (will explain later)
Sugar
Nuts (pistachios, almonds, cashews), totally optional
How:
You take the bread, and butter. Now you almost have to fry the bread in this butter (like a shallow fry). Make the bread really crispy okay
Now take the milk (or water doesn't matter. In my opinion it tastes much better with milk) and sugar. Put this on the stove and get the milk just hot enough so that the sugar melts. For water and sugar, it should make a pretty thick sugar syrup
Next, pour this milk/ water over the crisped bread. DO NOT soak it, just enough to cover it.
Lastly, top it off with the chopped nuts (again, absolutely optional)
VOILA!
Unfortunately she has peanut allergy
@@rebel1612 oh it can be made without the nuts too! Thank you for pointing this out, I'll edit the comment :)
That sounds absolutely delicious, and I just want to thank you for the recipe because I am very much looking forward to trying it. 😁💙
If you are allergic to nuts like Rachel and I are, pumpkin seeds are a good choice and in cookies, hemp hearts give a pecan/walnut vibe. I make a biscotti that had a nut and cranberries in it. People swear there are nuts in them but it’s pumpkin seeds. Sunflower seeds are also an option.
By buttering both sides of the bread, you can do it nicely in the air fryer and then put the milk or simple syrup on.
My hubby and I love spicy foods but we often joke, “Is it spicy spicy or Minnesota spicy?” lol! A lot of people in Minnesota are often like, “Ooooh that black pepper is spicy!” 🤣🤣🤣
That's hilarious! It's true about the Minnesota spicy and they're feelings behind pepper. I have to remember to hold back on the pepper spray when cooking because of my boyfriend can't handle it lol. I usually cever my food in pepper because I love it.
if your not minnesotan i’m offended
if you are minnesotan that’s funny
@@ellieknutsen8217 Born and raised! 🤣🤣🤣
Oh good old Minnesota! Fellow Minnesota resident! I knew a family who thought taco sauce was spicy!!! So they used western dressing!
Same here in East Texas, I love spicy hot and most East Texans are like that’s too spicy and it’s just white pepper! Lol
I love jalapeños, hatch green chilis come on.
Love these. There's always a shot of sideways entertainment. Today's: Chris goes full rogue mukbang at the end. 😄
When we had milk toast, when I was kid, (50 odd years ago) it was toast, soaked in a bowl of warm milk sprinkled with a little cinnamon sugar. Not crisp/crunch - totally soggy. Mom made it when we were sick as it was easy to digest. I like your version better.
lime-fan here. try a glass of 1/3 cold black tea, juice of 1/2 lime, some ice and fill it up with sprite. 🍸
Hmmm 🤔
Maybe you can do a video testing those Pinterest videos that are “hacks to fix a baking fail”. I know one turns a dry cake into a swiss roll. Or some recipes using oreos
As someone born and raised in Massachusetts, I’ve never heard of milk bread. However, I haven’t lived there in about 13 years.
As someone who has lived in Massachusetts all 34 years of my life I have never heard of milk bread/toast. Ever. So confused lol
I’ve lived in Massachusetts for 26 years and have never heard of it either! 😉😂😜
That ramen must be really good judging by how eagerly Christopher's eating it 😄👏
The yogurt’s protein helps lessen the heat from the capsaicin from the 🌶 red chile pepper in the spice mixture in the Shin ramen 🍜 . If you ever eat spicy food and it’s too spicy for you - drink milk. 🥛
9:38 dude I felt that fear! I, too, looked at the shirt like, “OMG did the sauce splash!?” Lol
Yes!! I needed a new Rachel tries viral tiktok/Instagram recipes!!! One of my favorite series on your channel ❤ 💙 💜
You should try the Brazilian limeade! It has sweetened condensed milk and use 95% of the lime!
I absolutely love your videos and get so excited on Saturday, and Thursdays! I’m a stay at home mom and this is one thing I look forward too! And I have never been this early!💗💗
I love when you speak a little French and you do it well ☺️
If you love lime, you have to try elote'. Corn, lime, mayo, Tajine, butter, and queso fresco or parmesan. I live on it in the summer.
Love these recipe trying videos so much!!!! Excellent as usual :D
My husband adds mayo and Sriracha to the prepackaged chicken ramen! Makes it creamy and you can adjust the spice to your liking! 🙂
If you want it sweeter add condensed milk to the mango smoothie thing
I really love your makeup today!! I think it looks very lovely 😊
shin ramen is sooooo mild! i always add a large mushroom, brine from can tuna, half the tuna, fresh kale - shredded, drizzle sesame oil, 2 thai chillis, nom nom
Growing up, my dad always had a salsa garden in our backyard and 90% of the peppers he grew were habaneros and they ended up in EVERYTHING all of my life lol I love spice
I thought I was growing green peppers turns out I also had habaneros I found out the hard way lol 😆
If you like french toast try Spanish torrijas. They're done with a baguette kind of bread and fried so the outside is crispy and the inside melts in your mouth. Delicious
I’m obsessed with your beautiful red pinky knitting shirt 😍😍😍 and I really like Chris trying to figure out what ingredients will get the things better👍 maybe the milky bread process could be use for the French toast too? Great time as always thanks 🙏
Edit by the way the mango cream inspire me a pina colada version 🤩
Love Chris’ “The One Ring” t-shirt. Very funny when you know both references. 😃
love these kinds of videos and basically all of your videos!!
Omg I love Chris’s shirt!!! 😁 I will be trying the mango whip looked so good
When you said milk toast my mind instantly went to when I was a kid. My family was poor a meal we would make was milk toast. Ours was way different. My mom would heat milk and cinnamon together on the stove and then break pieces of toast into it and serve. I definitely like the looks and possible taste of your version better lol.
That's what I said!!! I was like omg Rachel is making broke people food I got very nostalgic
Yes! My mom likes milk toast (I’ve never tried it) and what you’re describing sounds like what my mom makes from time to time. I agree, Rachel’s version sounds way better! Lol
I found you a few months ago and have fallen in love with your videos. Then today, I watch the first 10 seconds of this video and I never felt so called out in a video, that I had to send it to my husband to giggle at. I love your videos, and your chemistry with Christopher. I love it all!
Def gonna try the mango whip and the ramen situation
I never cook but I’m sure gonna tell the hubby about the milk toast! Also does anyone else love the way they (especially Chris) say process??? ☺️
I can not get over Christopher’s shirt!!!! LOVE it
Love the shirt Chris!!! That’s sooo funny! Lol!
A fun bit of science, capsaicin (the hot stuff that makes your food spicy) is an alkaline molecule. Lime juice is acidic (citric acid). So, adding lime to your spicy food will neutralize a fair portion of the capsaicin and bring down the "heat". This works for other fruit juices too, as well as vinegar.
Chris is eating that ramen like there is no tomorrow 😆
My grandmother used to eat this milk bread as a snack. She’d always say it was a “Maine” thing. Except she never toasted hers. Just bread, cream, and a bit of sugar as a dessert if you will. I’ve tried it (not a fan, I don’t like wet cakes lol) apparently this was a popular Great Depression snack. Interesting! I’ve never heard or seen anyone else do this!
Love your videos!🖤 I definitely wanna hear the results of the milk toast with different bread 🐮
I allway have alot of natural yoghurt on ramen, it's so good!
I can’t wait to try your lime water trick!! The ramen!!!
I am definitely making that pasta.
My favorite summer salad is roasted beets and goat cheese on a bed of spinach, so to me, that pasta looks amazing.
I'm getting some beetroot in my veg box delivery on Monday, and I had no idea what to do with it. Going to try the pink pasta. Now to find the recipe. Thanks for sharing.
Yes that spicy noodle with lime and slice of cheese and green onions on top bomb!
I made a 2 ingredient ICE CREAM, I used 1can if Sweetened Condensed Milk and 1/2 of a large Ziolock bag if frozen watermelon, blend in my Vitamix, it was sooo good . Put the milk in first the frozen fruit .
I had the mango whip with condensed milk added instead of the coconut milk...seriously best ever! Frozen into Popsicles must be tried next.
Ooh, I love this idea! I may try that this week! 💜
It's been a long time since I've watched one of your videos, but I immediately remembered Christopher's name for no reason, like, as soon as the video started.
I definitely would try these recipes. Might show my sisters the ramen hack because we all love ramen, but the rest of them are definitely going on the list of things to make as well
Hi! When I was growing up in New Hampshire, both of my parents would make the toast bread for breakfast quite regularly. If they were feeling like a "fancy" breakfast we would have fried or scrambled eggs. Also, both of my parents would not use syrup on French toast, they put butter, salt and pepper (I mean, honestly I don't put syrup on my scrambled egg and toast) but we had syrup on milk toast I think it comes from depression Era eating.
The bit about the mango smoothie as popsicles needing something, lime goes really well with mango so maybe grate the zest of a lime into it and then add the juice before freezing into popsicles.
If you want a little more tangy note to the smoothie add some lime juice, always great with mango. Independent from the sweetness, you could also add frozen banana. Update: I wrote this BEFORE you said you loved limes. 😄
OMG, the moment Christopher said it would be better as a salad I thought the same thing. 😄♥️ I might add sunflower or pumpkin seeds for crunch.
Could I use pineapple juice? Or would it make it not be as smooth?
Floating Rachel torso...so funny 🤣
RE the beet pasta - I have tried another version where the beets are also blended with lemon juice and greek yogurt and it really elevates the flavour. Makes an AWESOME dip too!
^ my own addition was adding chicken cooked in bay leaves and veggie stock and I do that everytime now!
The alt I tried didn't recommend serving with mint leaves though, will definitely be doing that next time!
0:00 🙋🏼♀️🙋🏼♀️🙋🏼♀️
Anyway, I love all your content Rachel! Every Saturday I get up and watch one of your new videos. I might try the milk toast and the pasta recipes soon!
Omg best birthday present ever!!!!! Thank you your so amazing 🤩
Gotta say, I feel called out at the beginning, lol! I have so many recipes pinned and saved that I have yet to make. I was thinking of setting aside a day a week to try new stuff, and now I'm even more motivated to
I saw a lasagna recipe using Ramon. It looked good and simple to make.
Christopher’s shirt!!! 😂 I love it so much
The way I make French Toast it isn't sweet at all. I have seen people put sugar in it - but I like the sweet/savory of adding your own toppings for that.
Recipe tweaks: the mango “smoothie”…add 1-2 tablespoons of condensed milk. The “pink” pasta (to make it like a pasta salad as Chris suggested)…squeeze about 1/2 lemon to the sauce (and trust me, I hate lemon but trust the process), sliced black olives, marinated artichoke hearts and thyme to the sauced pasta and toss. Serve chilled
My grandparents grew up eating milk toast (rural US 1920s). Even as they aged, they continued to eat it. I think it was a necessity meal, when they couldn't get eggs.
I love your shirt super cool pattern and it suits you well 👍🏻 great recipes ✨
Add chia with the mango for crunch
Cottage cheese in the ramen is awesome!!!
frozen mango whip in the ninja creami, you made me buy it !!!!!
Ooooooo
I would LOOOOVE!!!!! A cooking hacks colab with @simplynailogical I think Chris and Ben would get along so great!
Chris’ shirts always make my day😂😂
I saw that ramen hack, can't wait to try it
The milk bread toast are called torrijas and it's a Spanish dessert, and it's sooo delicious 😍
I watched this and immediately went to make a smoothie. I only had frozen strawberries and blueberries and orange juice… but it’s still delicious!
Girllll you look absolutely gorgeous in this video. Love your content and happy birthday 🎉
For the first recipe add abit of sweetened condensed milk, it will help sweeten it and add creaminess
I love Milk Toast made with melted ice cream like the Trader Joe's Ube ice cream.
Condensed milk for the whipped mango! Yum
Christopher remains the undisputed king of nerdy T-shirts.
Lemon with the beet sauce. And more garlic. And parmesan 😋
I live on my blendjet. I'm not gonna lie, a Vitamix obviously could power through coconut shells and avocado seeds, but it's also huge, makes hulky scary noises and is a lot harder to clean for like.. a drink. Lol
I absolutely love your sweater/ shirt
The love christopher has for her ♥️😫😫♥️♥️♥️🥹🥹
Try using Coco Lopez (a sweetened coconut cream) in the mango drink/popsicles! I’m a bartender in the Virgin Islands and we use it in all of our tropical drinks. It’s definitely not the healthiest, but it is delicious!
And I need to try that pasta! I love the combination of beets and goat cheese. Yum!
My grandma used to make us milk toast when we were sick, BUT she would make it savory, with no syrup but salt and pepper. She said that her grandmother used to make it for the same reason. Never thought of having it with syrup I will be trying that soon!
You should try the margaritas where you peel, freeze, and blend whole limes as a base. I’m so curious!
We put lime soup like pollo de res my favorite, we also fry up hot dogs halved the long way (hot dog way hehe) and put it in a heated up corn tortilla with lots of lime (I love lots of lime) sooo gooood 😭
I don't put sugar, cinnamon or syrup on my French toast. I sprinkle salt and eat it like toast
That is how my parents would eat it. Kinda makes sense that you put salt and pepper and butter on scrambled eggs and toast.
