WATCH: From Barren to Haven - How One Man's Determination Transformed Whole Community's Perception

Savjibhai Dholakia, founder of the Dholakia Foundation, has transformed the barren land of Kharopat, Saurashtra, into a fertile oasis, benefiting 75 villages and over 250,000 individuals. Despite skepticism and resistance from villagers, Savjibhai's vision and determination led to the creation and rejuvenation of over 155 lakes and rivers, including a significant 52.9-kilometer-long river project.
Today, Kharopat is a thriving oasis, producing at least 300 kilograms of fruits each year, particularly mangoes. The Dholakia Foundation works for sustainable change in various sectors, including education, healthcare, women's empowerment, and community development, adhering to the UN-defined Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Principle. Savjibhai was conferred with the Padma Shri for his humanitarian services in March 2022.
