While designing the Wii and the Wii remote controllers, the various demos were packed into the Wii Sports collection for a package launch title of the new Nintendo Wii. I spent years playing Resort, man. Those mini-games and modes were _worth_ coming back to.
Heck, the *Wii Sports Resort* game, and my memories with it, was a major deciding factor in me going out and getting a bluetooth dongle for WiiMotion Plus compatibility in my Dolphin emulator setup. Well worth it.
(That, and for playing through Skyward Sword again, in HD! :D)
-But good grace. The way that they butchered the Boxing mode in Wii Sports Club... That feeling of disappointment came flooding back when I watched this video.-
Same. I found it again recently and spent hours trying to beat Matt in swordplay (still working on it). I also love it when Wuhu Island gets put in anything. Mario Kart? I'll take it. SSBU? I'll take it. I may enjoy the game to an unhealthy degree, but it's Wii Sports so I'm justified.

The Wii Sports Resort golf trivia really got me, since nowadays AAA Developers overhype their games but have so much missing *promised* content. Launch version No Man's Sky, as the best example.

This has nothing to so with the content of the video, but I have a little thing. You've spoken about finding a good talking speed for your videos before, but I'd say that this felt unnaturally slow. I had to check if my youtube was playing at normal speed. I'd try to talk a bit faster in your next video! I still lived the video tho, keep up the great work!

I was gonna comment something like that but then I thought "nah, it'll probably sound silly like I'm just trying to complain about something..." but now I see I'm not the only one with the issue! 1.25x really does help though, I forgot it was even on that speed after a few minutes.

I mean, I like this timeline we are in. Without Wii Sports and the Miis, we wouldn't have Pro Smash players maining Mii Swordfighter and Wii Fit Trainer which is both impressive and hilarious at the same time.

I like how the Wii was marketed as an exercise console, but boxing was the only sport that required moving around at all. Wii Sports was great though.

Speaking for the Wii Series Speedrunning community, none of the Wii Series games have really died. New runs are happening every day, TASes are being created, people are getting together to enjoy the games we grew up with. The OG Wii Sports Boxing Beat the Champion World Record was just beat yesterday. Wii Sports Resort is getting into charity marathon after charity marathon. Someone this past week beat Wii Party Board Game Island in a little over 10 minutes.
A lot of people overshadow these games cause they are just memes. I'm glad we have people like you to talk about these games that make up so much of our childhoods. From our community to yours, we thank you.

The ability to fly all around Wuhu Island in Resort is one of its best parts imo along with being able to crash in absurd and silly manners for little to no penalty. I completely forgot about Club though.

Wii sports is good for it's simplicity and nostalgia, Wii sports resort is good for it's larger number of creative sports and better controls. They are both very good and I love them both
What about the wii party franchise? It brought a lot of fun ideas to the table even with mario party at its peak (AKA mario party 8) it might not have enough content for its own episode, but it could be grouped with other not-mario parties

Just like New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe (which included both NSMBU and NSLU) i think this remake should be just called Wii Sports Switch (which includes HD remakes of Wii Sports and Resort)

I remember watching the trailer for Wii Sports Resort on the Nintendo Channel on the Wii and my jaw dropped. That ended out being one of my favorite Wii games of all time. I absolutely love Wuhu Island! I hope to see it return in another game someday.
It was such a trip to have a big change in the game line up. Definitely one of the best sequels for improvement
