I like to think that Necrofantasia is Yukari's theme as a Gensokyo Sage, and Night Falls is Yukari's theme as a being.
Given Okina's theme this seems pretty accurate.
I'd think that "Yoru ga Oritekuru" will be Yukari's regular theme song, and "Necrofantasia" as her Hellishly Lunatic Last Spell-like theme.
Necrofantasia simply shows the true beauty of Boundaries. Night Falls shows her mysterious character. When Night Falls, Yukari comes... What about when morning comes? Maribel wakes? Who knows, we only know if we can survive past night agianst Yukari's spellcards lol.
The translate bar is changing correct punctuation to incorrect punctuation.
Interestingly, there's an unused theme of PC-98 Touhou game SoEW that known as Sunfall, literally same meaning as Nightfall.
I'm one of those people who look at everything so literally that I wondered why I could somehow grasp the expression of the title with Yukari looking at me so... ambiguously. Her expression is foreboding, but her eyebrows indicate concern. And then I realized why such a weird song with ominous parts and a cheerful hook is called "Evening Star".
ZUN literally conveys two similar interpretations of the character's mood by joining together two phrases as the song's title to literally explain the mood of the song and how the character feels.
"Night Falls" is when everything becomes unknown and people are scared of what they don't know. Seeing Yukari at night will terrify you ~until you see her rack~.
Yukari exists in the nighttime as she sleeps during the day, that one object you know how unpredictable she is-a clever reversal on "Morning Star", what Lucifer's name means in Christian mythology. Even though he is represented as a fallen angel, he will still light the path for man to follow to reach the Kingdom of God and is a necessary evil for man to learn from his mistakes and do right in the future.
Despite being a deuteragonist, Yukari knows she has to hide how she really feels with her unpredictability and do what she knows is right to keep Gensokyo safe. Reimu is a necessary blessing and a curse which is why the two canonically fight like a couple and in fanon too.
BONUS: If you read this far, the song's additional segment after where the original leads off is quite ominous sounding, alluding to how scheming Yukari is. She knows it's insidious, but it's all for your own good. This is why she tends to not get along with characters that dislike her methods such as Yorihime, Sakuya, and worst of all Eirin who she views as the total opposite of her in thinking during her siege on the Moon.
There are actually some even deeper meanings to the title:
"Night Falls" likely alludes to Oomagatoki, 逢魔時, The Time when Demons Rendezvous, alternatively spelled 大禍時, The Time of Great Calamity... or, if you wanna use a less literal translation, "Twilight"... The moment when the sun sets is the witching hour in Japanese folklore, when the boundary between day and night falls over the world and the boundary between our world and _their_ world is at its very thinnest. When night falls, humans are spirited away and youkai emerge from the shadows.
"The Morning Star" and "The Evening Star" are actually one the same star. To be more specific, both of them are names for Venus; the first "star" that becomes visible at night, the last "star" to disappear when morning comes, as well as the "star" of femininity... However, The Evening Star is in Aztec mythology also associated with Xolotl, the god of monsters, god of the boundary between life and death, god of twins/dualities (Yukari & Maribel?) and the namesake of the Axolotl salamander... Now, what animal does Mamizou transform Yukari into with her "Futatsuiwa Clan's Curse" Spell Card in AoCF, hm?

First of all her name obviously references the Okinamen, a Noh theatre mask depicting the face of an old man, said to be based upon the face of Hata no Kawakatsu or Matara-jin. However, the "Oki" part of her name is written with the same kanji used for Okinoshima/Oki island, 隠岐の島町, the home of "The White Rabbit of Inaba," which Daikoku/Onamuji (who later became known as Okuninushi and, even later on, Omononushi, who Hata no Kawakatsu was regarded as an incarnation of,) is said to have saved the life of; the bunnies of Eientei still pound mochi in Daikoku's honour for saving their leader. The individual kanji in Okina's name are also significant: 隠 (o) means "hidden", which is meaningful enough when it comes to Okina, but it's also the etymological root to 鬼 (oni), tying into how Matara-jin was, in their three-headed form, known as Yashajin, God of the Yaksha demons -- this form was also known by another name: Sanmen Daikoku/Three-faced Daikoku... The 岐 (ki) in Okina's name means "theatre", which ties into Okina's role as the goddess of Noh, but may also be an allusion to the kunado-no-kami (岐の神), the gods of crossroads, Matara-jin having once been regarded as the most prominent one of their numbers... Finally, 奈 (na) means Naraka/Hell, tying into Matara-jin's role as the Yama's secretary, but it may also refer to a theatre's basement, once again tying into the Noh motifs...
In summation, the way ZUN decided to write Okina's name effectively made the full name, _and every separate part of it,_ different and variously obscure allusions to more-or-less her entire mythological lore and backstory.

That start with the cymbals and piano dropping down has always been my absolute favorite part of this song, it almost feels like a jumpscare, sets an unique mood pretty nicely from the start, ZUN has called Necrofantasia a devious sounding track, so i would what would he say about Night Falls ~ Evening Star
0:17 - Those peculiar notes which i am not sure what they are called, they are also a highlight of all of this, sounds like some string instrument that has been pitched, which just give off such a weird vibe that just fits perfectly with those child-like chaotic piano notes dancing around, almost as if they were mocking you (Yeah, "mocking piano notes", as much as that sounds incredibly weird i just can't help but get that feeling, for whatever reason).
2:21 - Also this part with this string instrument, it's soooooo good... It sounds tribal orancient, incredibly omnious... I I am sure it also appears in other parts of the music, it's almost as if this was hiding behind the other instruments only to show itself there, this music (And a lot of other stuff lol) makes me wonder how isn't Yukari a villain in the series...
0:28 - This section with the ZUNpets and the strings on the back is a big change of tone, it's incredibly grand and even majestic, without straying completely from the mostly omnious centiment of this music because of those notes that i think sound like muffled piano keys.
3:11 - The sudden change after those drums smack you down is so striking, it's one of ZUN's specialties after all, and.. Wow, i really can't put into words how much i love this grand ending, it's the perfect setup and closing-off with all the great stuff this music has been showing us all throught, the rising trunpets with the slow notes and strings in the back makes the trunpets stand out so completely nicely, which get faster and faster until...
4:06 - The grand finale, of course, which nicely closes off for the loop with again, that jumpscare like start.
I am no musician, so those comments are simply my musically uncultured mind trying to make out these intricate and delicious sounds into readable phrases, failingly so lol.
I imagine this OST being her stage theme if she was a playable character in PoFV.

Well, some eye colors can change depending on the light intensity. One exempel is hazel eye color.
However, Yukari's eye color should be darker in the night half and brighter in the day half. But even then, her color should only change if her eye was exposed to the light. Therefore, this picture is unscientific. It's just meant to look cool.
