  • We were called to help with the flooding in Cumbria. Our first task was in Appleby clear buildings on the main street. The river had burst its banks and was flowing down the main street in full flow. We accessed the buildings from the rear to avoid the high speed flow. Following this we were then sent to Carlisle to help the residents in the flooded areas.

These people are the ones who should be given so much support. They risk their lives to save others. So amazing.

Hi Alan, I work for Raw TV and we are currently doing a programme on extreme weather in the UK to air on CH4. We really loved your footage, really amazing stuff, and I was wondering whether it would be possible to use some of it on the programme? Thanks a lot!

    What caused the flood?

The amount of rainfall produced by storm Desmond cause the river levels to rise above the flood barriers. The area had been flooded before, but this was much higher than anyone had anticipated.

Glory Glory Man Utd I know it well. I was brought up just outside of Egremont before moving down to the Peak District and joining Kinder MRT.

Hi Alan. I'm a researcher for documentary series we are doing on UK Natural Disasters, we would love to discuss using this footage for our segment on the Cumbria floods. Do you have an email or number I could use to get in touch?
    Many thanks,
    Ethan.

Hi Alan, such great work by MR teams and other volunteers to help those affected, I'm sure it's been a testing time for you all. I work for a Ch5 documentary series, we are following what's happening in Cumbria and how local people have been coping with what has happened there. I wondered whether you might consider allowing us to use your footage in our programme? If you would like to find out more, send me an email with your contact details and I'll give you a call, thanks in advance. emma.fraser@crackitproductions.co.uk

Hi Alan. Loved the video. Did you film this yourself? We are working on a new documentary series called "World's Wildest Weather" and we're looking for footage to use as part of the show. Do you have an email address I can contact you on? If you don't want to post it online please contact me on lucycassidy@titlerole.co.uk - Thanks! Lucy

Terrible music. Too loud, too repetitive. Made this unwatchable for me.
