Wow.. I got to watch this!! And itâs so cool and informative đđ thanks for the info mostly people donât get it earlier but thisâs better Keep it up I had to subscribe đ„đ„
Glad it was helpful! âșïž
This was quite informative! Plus you throw in nuggets of wisdom as you chat, which is value-adding. Keep âem coming!
Thank you so much!
Super informative... Loved it!
I like your video, your warm character is a plusđ„°
Girl ... you're pronunciation and articulation is almost to perfection.
Even by taking with an accents ... you are very well understandable.
This made me enjoy your channel and especially this episode even more đâ
Thanks!
Hi beautiful. You had me cracking up đ€Łđ€ŁI had to sub.The sunny and cold bit always gets međ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł.
Thank you so much! đ
So interesting...we would love to have more of this esp on lifestyle and education matters.
I'll see what I can do. đ€
Zillennial Life Crisis:. I liked your culture shock differences because they were personal to you. So many other videos like this feel like they are chastising Americans about what is wrong with the USA instead of the differences. You notice the kind of things that I would notice if I traveled. You found out that they were on point about Seattle's weather and how it can affect your mood. You explained daylight savings time perfectly. And you said it was interesting how there were no direct connection between sun and heat with the sun shining bright in the winter and it is still cold. That's like how I had to get it out of my head that because a city is located at or around the equator that it will automatically be hot all of the time. I totally enjoyed your video and I think many people will get a lot of useful information from it.
Thank you! đ
Im coming to US soon this is so informative and You talk very well
Thank you! âșïž
I once read an easy way to understand Farenheight is to think of it as a percentage scale of heat so 0= absolutely no heat ie super freezing and 100 is super hot...so 70 is on the warmer side etc etc. It's what I use lol
This explanation actually makes sense! Wow! Thank you so much for sharing!! Now I'll know what the numbers mean. đđ
@@zillenniallife As someone in the sciences who has to translate a lot between the different metric systems, a quick way to roughly convert Fahrenheit to Celsius in your head is to remember "Subtract 30 and divide by 2" (this will get you within a few degrees), so 70F would be "70 - 30 = 40, and 40/2 = 20" so 70F is roughly 20C (in actuality it's 21C, but close enough for a mental conversion).
If you wish to describe a temperature you know in Celsius to someone in the US using Fahrenheit, then you go in reverse: "Multiply by two and add 30" (this will also get you within a few degrees F). So maybe you feel like it's 5 C in Seattle and you want to warn your American friend, you'd go "5 times two is 10, and 10 + 30 is 40, or 40 F" Brr! This works for pretty much all normal human temperature ranges, and even negative values.
32 degrees Fahrenheit is when water becomes ice, 212 is when water becomes steam, 74-78 is room temperature, 98.7 or about that is human body temperature, Celsius = (Fahrenheit - 32) x 5/9, and Fahrenheit = (Celsius Ă· 5/9) +32.
And that is all which you need.
I loved this video and hearing your experiences. I just subscribed. you made me laugh with the cheese story. đ
You really have smart observations, just subscribed
Thank you! âșïž
This is informative. Loved it.
Thank you!
I was looking on CZcams to find out how it is to live in Kenya for Americans and stumbled upon your video. You are right about America and in turn I learned about Kenya đđ thank you. One thing you may want to mention is when you rent an apartment in the US and the lease is up, the rent may be higher when you want to renew. Why? It depends on the rental market. It the typical rent of apartments that looks like your apartment goes up in the area then your rent may go up a little because the owner wants to stay Competitive.
That rent one surprised me too!
This is accurately stated! I relate to every bit of it!
Thank you! đ
It's taken your video for me to realize that there are dogs everywhere. or me I arrived on a winter and my shock was that "Not a Single Tree had a Single Leaf"
đ not a single tree had a single leaf
Really enjoyed this, thanks.
Thanks!
Loved it!!!
The good debt thing would be quite scary for me.. I'm always so careful not to use money I don't already have
It took months for me to get comfortable with the good debt thing. And I'm still scared of big purchases. đ€Ł
Thanks for watching! âșïž
Mumo Grace:. It's not as hard as it sounds. Get you a credit card and use it to purchase gasoline and your groceries each month and make a full payment for those purchases when they send you your statement each month. You pay it fully each month so that you won't have to pay any interest. Before you notice you will have a good credit rating.
Yes, Americans really love dogs and I also had to get used to that, and also having to pray when a friend's pet was sick... That was very strange for me....
Very strange!

I moved from the US to Kenya (have lived in Kenya a little over 2 years now) and I felt so many of this, but the opposite direction đ thanks for sharing!
I'm glad the video resonated with you even in the reverse experience. đ„°
Nice video. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for tuning in! đ„°đ„°
Quite informative, never been to the US myself, thank u.
I really enjoyed this vlog,new subscriber â€ïžâ€ïž
Thank you!
@@zillenniallife what is the name of the agent how bring you to US as aupair please help me
My dear this is fantastic. Thanks for reminding me why I returned to Kenya from the US after 8 years.
Haha thank you! đ
What do you have against the U.S.A.?
I am from Seattle and now live in India, and it was fun listening to the differences.
"Weather is trash" - This made me laugh hard because I know how it is in Seattle without much sunlight for awhile. It does seem to affect your mood and people have lower energy overall, but happy when the sun comes.
They love cheese on everything- This is so true, we also don't have as much rice in the US as other countries
Tons of dogs everywhere- Very true, my coworkers use to bring their dogs to the office and I would have about 3 dogs sitting around me while I work.
Credit cards- I don't understand the concept myself and 99% of the time use my debit card too.
Very informative...Kenya đ°đȘ is my neighbour so I can relate
You are funny and bring up some good points, of course every state is so different as far as weather, cost and living expenses. I love in Ohio â€
Very good observations. I am from Uganda and I lived in Alabama 4 years before moving to California, I think using wood in construction is everywhere in the U.S mainland.
Am in Portland, right next door. Washington in my opinion is the preetiest state, the Cascades are a treasure. I am down there every weekend during the summer for hiking trips. đ„°đ„°đ„°.
True! Washington is stunning! đ
I loved the fact that you were funny. You cracked me upđ
Thank you!
I have watched entire video and I can say you are a very intelligent person
Thank you!
Perhaps a video on how you applied and got to Microsoft? Anyway, nice video and very informative đ
Great choice. That video will be coming soon. Stay tuned!
And thank you for watching! đ„°đ„°
video noma, i loved itđđ„
..I've always wanted to know the comparison of earning a dollar there compared to here in kenya
Thank you!
love your content
Thank you! đ
I have learned a lot from you, thank you so much I hope one day I will make it to AMERICA its my dream which I believe will come true.
Thank you so much for sharing because one will make more informed decisions. However, there's a lot of similarities in what u outlined with South Africa
I agree with every point you made! 100%! Some other differences i would also add are: more PDA in the western world, people speak faster, time is taken a lot more seriously, and of course racism exists.
Yes! I agree with all your additions!! đ
The sarcasm is on pointđ
Lol I live up north in Toronto whereby it's so cold and I'm jealous of my Aunt that lives in Texas because of the warmer weather
A new subscriber here,a very informative video.
Thank you!
Am in Kenya đ°đȘ and am planning to come to American soil but majorly I would be grateful to reach in Seattle Washington. Thank you for being in Seattle.
Gal! U r very articulate
đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł đ€Ł the way this videoade my day aki
Me almost 2months in and the dog thing is so on point......I am so scared of dogs and they are everywhere.
The weather is such a shock too.am in New York it's summer and i feel like am at Coast all the time
The dog thing never gets old!
Humidity of the summer
Me and you both when it comes to dogs,I am so scared of dogs, and I get to see them everywhere here, they terrify me..we have the best food in Kenya hands down..
I'm always running away from them and embarrassing myself. đ
I learned a lot.....thnx
You're welcome đ
wow......aki i even now wonna come.....like am now feel more urge to come
Also do you have a video on how to do the head wraps?
very informative video
Thank you! đ đ
I like how you used Zucchini to compare groccery prices while here in Kenya they are termed to be on the significantly more expensive side of the equation.....
New sub.love ur spoken English.
Thanks!
Fahrenheit makes sense when you understand what it is calibrated for, which is outside weather. Celsius is calibrated from freezing to boiling, but how often do you really need to know what exact temperature water boils? Fahrenheit is calibrated from 0 meaning painfully cold outside, to 100 damn hot out. That's all there is to it.
That makes sense. Thanks for sharing.
New Subbie Here.... America Is Strange..Great Content đđ»đđâŁïžđčđč
Thanks!
Haha new Sub. Nice Info
Thank you!
Funny thing the aggressive marketing is somewhat similar here in russia. Obviously not to the same extent but definitely more than i was used to in kenya.
Awesome đ I am in Seattle too we should do a colabo soon...
Good stuff.
Glad you enjoyed it! đ
Nice video. Keep the good things going since not all the things done in America are worthy to be emulated. Like using a debit card or pre-financing the credit card. Too many people have been pulled into unnecessary debt and expenditure. Success and good health to you
How about clothes prices in Kenya and USA?
Sunny and coldđ I learnt that one the hard wayâŠâŠin Canada.
Am.new but eeeei am enjoying đđ hope we meet soon
Thank you!
That clock thing...đđ
Daylight saving was such a shock!
That's why they say I'm a little bit under the weather lol
That's so true!
I didn't know about the sale tax
You are funny Gal,đ§ driving
Yes I agree I hate dogs! Lol Iâm glad you say that because I am from America moving to Kenya!
All the best on your upcoming move! đ
You and me both....I had to have a chat with my neighbors just to let em know that I'm scared of their "friendly" dogs đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł. It don't matter how friendly..keep em away from me đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł.
Haha more people scared of dogs. đđđ
I love dogs. I have 2. They are big and may look scary to people who don't know dogs, but they are absolutely harmless. Well, except they may chew shoes or flip the garbage if they smell food, but are not violent
In US, the wood-based building materials are mostly due to insulation ability
Makes sense!
Titus Obbayi:. In Seattle it has more to do with that part of the country being in a earthquake zone. You won't find many brick homes in the western coastal parts of the USA.
Lumber (wood) homes are alot faster and cheaper to build than all brick or concrete houses. That's why they are so common in America. Also, in much of Africa wood buildings are considered unsafe because of fires but fire protection is much stronger in America with fire dept.s everywhere.
Aggressive marketing reminds me of hawkers huku đđđ
"Madam paper bag yakubeba mzigo"
đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł so true!! The hawkers do this a lot.
Got a subscribe
Thanks!
what part of Seattle are you in
Eastside.
Informative.
My worry is the rampant gun violence and racism. How bad is it?Eti naskia unaeza kuwa tu unatembea na msee akulipue tu kwa kichwa..?!
Halafu, how expensive are the schools compared to Kenya?-University.
How crazy are work schedules?I hear people just work.work.work!so as to afford a healthy meal otherwise ni na bugger tu na ice cream for lunch?!Ok..I mean..
Is it true that wasee middle class wa Kenya ni poor wa huko?
University education is really expensive here. And yes, people work longer hours to make enough to sustain them. I'm not sure how the middle compare to the rich but just like any other society, there's a whole spectrum from the really poor to the extremely rich.

The metrics ......we use it all the tym....feet pounds Fahrenheit miles

Ulikua unaishi wapi before you moved?
Kiambu.. âșïž
So I am watching this to do the reverse. May move to Kenya from US. But will wait till I finish school first. And I know right about dogs. I love dogs, but now I am curious, are dogs less popular in Kenya and why?
Also on the subject of marketing, yes. It is getting worse, because the Capitalist economic system values profitd over anything else, they must keep the calitalist machien going but increasing advertisements more and more. And now they have advertisements on FUEL PUMPS. Its driving me insane. We are highly materialistic in the US now.
Yeah there aren't that many dogs everywhere. They are mostly in people's homes. You won't find many of them at the mall or supermarket or park like you do here.
@@zillenniallife thats interesting. Is it a cultural thing in Kenya where digs maynot be so desireable in public settings or?
How can I apply job there plz
You should of moved to Texas!!
Hapo kwa food, am not leaving Kenya anymore...
Haha Kenyan food is the best tbh..
@@zillenniallife I couldn't agree more. But you gotta hand it to some French people. Those people can cook.
Hapo pa 70F in October in WA umestragooo na ukweli đ
I actually don't remember the exact temperature lol đ€Ł
105 to the worldđ...don't lose your accent thoughđđ
Why? Honestly I dont understand why many Kenyans have such problems when fellow citizens abroad assimilate yet being understood in a foreign country is clearly critical for ones survival abroad.would you expect a Kenyan living in Tanzania for many years to speak Kiswahili with a Kenyan accent? Be realistic and less judgemental.. listen to this intelligent lady her content is more important than how she speaks.
@@africanqueenmo because assimilating American accent is worshiping them.. If you go to India you wonât assimilate their accent.. You just want to assimilate it because you think itâs better?? Yâall are obsessed with America
You work at Microsoft?
Say hi to Bill and Satya
As an American i apologize for Farenheit. It really is dumb compared to the rules of celcius
change of time by 1 hr then returned back ....................how on earth is that possible
Haha that's the madness that is daylight savings!
Talking of "Aggressive selling "đyou should see how it is in Dubai,it's super aggressive.
Haha it's interesting that it happens in other countries too. đđ
This is the opposite of European countries, most of which pretend like they are not in the mood of selling.
That's definitely interesting! đ
The dog thing is so true...and annoying for those of us who don't like them.
Especially the people who refuse to leash them.. đ€Šđœââïž
i dont trust dogs kuna siku german shepherd mbili zilinigeuzia uzuri zilikuwa zimewekwa kwa chain karibu niumwe.
Glad to know I'm not the only human scared of dogs.
@@zillenniallife I like small dogs tho, they can't do much harm even if they don't know you.
Even summer ain't as hot...arrrrgh....I hate the weather in Seattle so much
I know right?! But we move regardless..
Bills Bills Bills....N More Bills.
ERENESTA WANJIRU:. It's not that bad if you have a decent job and you don't live above your means. So many people try to live a lifestyle that they can't maintain.
