Like I feel him being a face would have started out fine if they presented him to care more about The Shield ending, but he really comes off as such a natural heel to the point where I don't see how he becomes a face again.
The thing is, the Tribal Chief gimmick works as a Face, too. He just has to redirect the vitriol to his Heel opponents. He can even still ask the fans to acknowledge him, because they'll eat it up. Or maybe change it up to "Insert town acknowledges the Tribal Chief, right?"
Thats what you when superstars are memoring script vs coming off with their own way to do it/writing it themselves. Heyman defintenly helped with the latter i think.

Honestly, I feel like Roman being heel just naturally made him seem better on the mic. If you look at what he says and how he acts since his turn, it's kind of harder to play off as a face unless you're facing another heel.
Wwe often reminds me of films. It’s like you can see what having a different director can do. Here you can tell he was told to be slow, methodical, stoic. Very control cadence. Very similar to an undertaker promo. And now he’s more relaxed. He talks more loose, at his own pace or a more relaxed pace. It makes such a huge difference.
It is so crazy how much more compelling he is as a performer now than when he was then. You can tell watching this clip how kind of nervous and unsure he is about his skill. Now he is unmissable when he is on screen.
I think alot of it too is he brought in some of his real emotions into his heel character. The hate from the crowd (it was justified) over the years let him explode lol
Rock and Roman had the same kinda struggles in Wwe. Both were hated as a face first and then loved as heels. All the more reason to have a match between them which is already the biggest dream match rn in wwe.
It also took Vince way longer with Roman to finally give up and realize what he was doing with the guy wasn’t working either, really was an awful four years of forced Babyfaced Roman. At least with Rock it lasted at most like 8 months before realizing it wasn’t working and let him join the Nation of Domination. I love Tribal Chief Roman, he got it easily. I just don’t understand why Vince refused to do it for so long.
This proves that he always wanted to be Tribal Chief and Head of the Table that he is today. And he knew that he will be like this someday. But they were just waiting for him to be ready for it. I feel bad for this Roman in retrospect. He was thrown into a position he wasn't yet cut out for with a gimmick he didn't vibe with and had to endure the MASSIVE amounts of fan backlash for years due to creative's incompetence.
I wouldn't mind a 3 year title reign and roman is closing in on 2 years quickly, but not 8 years hell no. People these days aren't use to the title reigns the WWF use to have.

Yea Rock was definitely the fastest rising superstar I think in any form of entertainment honestly, the rock just had that IT factor off rip and knew what to do with it, Roman was always kinda seen with the IT factor It just took him time to figure out what to do with it. Now I'll say this yall talking down on roman and talking about how long rock been in but I could see roman being almost as impactful as cena is to wwe because he's just in the middle of his prime and got his perfect character for himself, Rock left and comes back every few years and that's it. Roman is on top of the game and is not going anywhere no time soon and has been here for a while already. I believe even when he goes to Hollywood I can see him coming back more and being more of a e guy then just becoming a full fledge actor.
@Ta-Kuan Fuan people loved Roman in 2014 after shield break up and people were rooting for him in royal rumble. But Vince messed up everything from 2015 and started to build him like Cena that's why people hated him in his first run. He could have made him heel at first place.
I remember loving this Roman!! He came across as a superhero. Yes people hated him but I enjoyed it!
Same
I liked it, but I was also like 6-7 years old
I loved him as the big dog🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
People loved him 2014 but started to hate him in 2015
@@sourabbarman8891 I loved him all the way
He looked like was he was meditating at the start. 😂💀
He did this while stuttering once or twice, nowadays he’s out here flaming your favourite wrestler in a single breath. The improvement is spectacular
too many forced catch phrases in one promo tbh nowadays he sounds more natural and his catchphrases are smooth and not cringy
Didn't alot of experience talking, hard to put trust into someone when they're that green and new.
As perfect as Roman is, he had to have at least one flaw. But he’s drastically improved his mic skills ever since!
I feel bad for this Roman in retrospect. He was thrown into a position he wasn't yet cut out for with a gimmick he didn't vibe with and had to endure the MASSIVE amounts of fan backlash for years due to creative's incompetence.
“My yard.” This would of been a great time for Big Evil to show up. “Yea, whose yard is this again boy?”
Roman Empire
He’s changed so much 🔥
For the better fr
Just that short clip shows how far he's come with the mic. The Tribal Chief is night and day from the "Big Dog."
This is not the same person as the Tribal Chief. This is an imposter.
holy shit it should have happened 8 years ago imagine him winning and he held it for 8 years
Nahhh he is trash
For 8 years? That would’ve sucked lol
No that's bad
I wouldn't mind a 3 year title reign and roman is closing in on 2 years quickly, but not 8 years hell no. People these days aren't use to the title reigns the WWF use to have.
8x365 + leap year day(s) is longer than Bruno Sammartino's longest individual reign
Man this version of Reigns is a jobber compared to our Tribal Chief.
He sure DID predict that 😮
Roman Reigns 2014 & Roman Reigns of 2022 looks world's apart from each other. Even there voices sound different.
Wow 😲 😲😲 😳😳 like really I never thought I would hear this.
Like someone in the comment section said Roman always wanted to be heel but Vince saw him as the biggest face.So in 2020 when he was out because of Covid leave to protect his family because Vince wanted him back Roman told him the only way I'm coming back is if you turn me heel
@@michaelrivera8360 Ok where's the evidence of this? I've seen this comment a few times and I highly doubt it. Based on interviews Roman has expressed he did always would like to be given to opportunity to turn but to full out demand or leave is such bs
Roman is everything I wish John Cena would’ve done during his career.
Even Dusty acknowledged Roman Reigns and The Bloodline.
the improvement of his Promo skills over the last 10 years is amazing it's like a different person
He sounded so forced now he is a natural
Oh my word he did😂😂😂
Also, credit to his favourite show at the time "Game Of Throne". So no, he didn't came up with that idea alone. He made it look badass tho, I give him credit. Came from a roman fan
Tbh the Bloodline was made a long time ago it just got capitalized on during the pandemic and made an actual trio faction then
My god he’s improved so much on the mic. He was insufferable back then
Stupid internet marks like you act like it’s so “easy” to speak in front of a live audience. You couldn’t even hold a mic let alone talk for five seconds. That would be “insufferable,” and would cause you to be on anxiety meds for the rest of your miserable life.
Easy to sit behind like a naive “fan” and make comments like that of Cornette(who actually has a rightful position to make an opinion).
This vid better blow up lol
Dangg he predicted it 😂😂😂💯💯💯
My little son heard this and said “why did Roman reigns talk like that” 😂
But He actually said, "at" and didn't say "as" The Head of The Table. So it isn't really a Prediction. But it Kinda is.
0:23 aint that somethin
Summerslam 2020 turns heel
Smackdown august 28 2020 joins paul heyman
Payback 2020 wins universal champion
Hell in a cell 2020 makes jey uso his bitch
In the space of 10 years a lot can change. He used to be so incredibly robotic and cringey on the mic when his solo career started, and for the longest time he just never seemed confident in his work.
Now he's like a whole different man.
He also predicted the bloodline in the promo against Cena where he got smoked
