      Keyshun Lowe (no only pay back full when you purchase something w/ the credit card) example: u go buy a burger that cost $5 and u payed w/ ur credit card. At the end of the month. U just need to pay what u have spent on ur secured credit card.

      I thought I did, but I will make a new video soon so make sure you are subbed. To keep it short, when you close a credit card (especially your oldest credit card) you lose all of the history with it and you do not want to lose credit history. It hurts your average age of accounts.

    Sonmy credit availble is what i can use and my balence is whay i owe?with that said i have 100 credit availble which at 1 point was 200 and 100 balence,i have to pay that 100 balence back to make my credit availble back to 200,basically im my own credit card company and i owe myself to place back that 100?

      Use whatever u need on Gas and just make sure your balance is paid down to ZERO DOLLARS by the DUE DATE so they report that credit utilization at 0% to the credit beaurues

    Question might some dumb but I did a $200 and if I use it for a purchase of $20 and I pay it in full for the monthly bill after that does that mean I only have $180 in that card ? Or does it go back to $200?
    Sorry if this sounds kinda silly to ask but it’s my first time with a secured card.

    When you say pay it in full, how do you pay it? Like do you go to the bank after the purchase and say I wanna pay this? Or do they send a bill at the end of the month? Or what? Sorry if that sounds dumb

      Kailey Sisk not dumb. Great question. I pay online in full (whatever the balance is showing) before my statement cycle ends. It’s important to pay in full before the statement cycle ends so the credit card company reports to the bureau as 0

    I just got my security credit card and it’s hella complicated plus I’m not sure if I’m paying it off right like I would per say spend like 17 at Walmart and transfer it to credit when I get home same day like is that the correct way to do it I don’t want to wait too long to pay it off

    So once i qualify for an unsecured card still keep my secured card open? An does the money i put down just remain on that secured card or is that the refundable down payment an how does that work?

      Yes keep the credit card open this is important because this has all of your history. The bank will typically give you your money back in the form of a check but keep the card open.

    So say my balance is at 200 and I spend 190 but I pay 180 the same week so I can only pay 10 at the end of the month does that keep my utilization percentage good?

      As long as you billing cycle doesn’t end showing you owe $190 you should be good!

      Nope. If you have the balance at zero, it’s nothing to pay 😉. Keep up the great work!
