  • This is part 2 of installing a new electrical cable system in the David Brown Tractor. In Part 1 we installed the front wiring loom and the keyswicth on the dashboard. In Part 2 we install the cabling and test the Dashboard wiring. Part 3 is all about the rear lights and blinker installation

Shrink wrap on your connectors is great for long term corrosion protection...i use both shrink wrap and shrink wrap connectors....
    Worth doing...

That is also a good method....I do that sometimes, not always .. It depends.

You need a Ground ( - ) to the rear too....using one wire as a backup...you can use the frame as a ground ( which you know ) but i like to add a ground from battery to wherever needed too...trailers use one as a ground too...i always jumper my grounds for redundancy.... Down the road and rusting begins you will be glad you did that!!

I would connect the Light switch to only come on if the Key is turned ON...otherwise you can drain your battery if Switch is turned on ( especially in daytime )....Key Off..no Power to Switch...
You can wire in a Relay if needed ( too much power going through your Switch )

Indeed, that is an choice to make. I did not as i wanted to have that option to have the lights on without the contact....
