    Thanks for the video! I currently work front desk at a Massage Envy and am now considering becoming a therapist. It feels kind of weird because it's something I had never thought about doing, but working up front and seeing the therapists work has inspired me. Everyone seems happy and like they are making decent money. We have a therapist who used to work front desk while she was in school and she says her life and happiness improved so much after the career change. Not only is she making more money but she is enjoying the work she does so much more. My only concern is the physical demands but I still think I am willing to invest in school and see how it all works out. Anyway, I just wanted to comment because I see your channel is pretty new and I want to encourage you to keep up the content! I just subscribed. :)

      Rachel Jayne Thank you so much for your support! I am definitely working on uploading more videos not only on my experience with ME but being a Massage Therapist in general. I have been doing it 5 years and I love it! You definitely need to stay healthy, eat good and rest too! That is key to being successful. In school I didn't think I could do as many massages as I do now. Also while in school, a lot of the focus is on proper body mechanics and working smarter not harder. I always work within my limit and dont over do it! While in school try to practice hands on as much as possible, dont be afraid and have confidence! The rest comes with doing more Massages, the more you do the easier it gets. You build stamina and strength over time. Good luck and let me know how things turn out!

    I just got out of school last October and luckily they had an internship opportunity with local Massage Envy franchises where we were able to work on the therapists. I was able to get familiar with the team and environment and see how the spa runs. After finishing school I applied and have been working there now since December. The team is very supportive and helpful and the clients are great. They offer free certification in prenatal and hot stone, so I'm completing the prenatal course now. It's a great start especially while working up my stamina, strength, and body mechanics. Thanks so much for your videos!

    Thank you so much for uploading this content! I have been working under a chiropractor for about 4 years now and have decided to take a change of pace to start working in the spa industry. So I really appreciate having your input on this subject. Just one question, is the experience you had with Massage Envy the same you had with Hand and Stone?

      You're welcome! Yes the experience has been very similar to the one I had with Hand and Stone. They are both very great companies. Good luck!

    • @KristinaGonzalez
      @KristinaGonzalez  Před 7 lety +3

      +Jeremy Murray massage envy pay is okay..on the lower end compared to other places but the tips are very good(not shared) and they are very busy. Try to pick up evening and weekends that will be busiest and you will make good money. Good luck with massage school!

    Does Massage Envy pay by the hour? I'm wondering if it's like a 9-5 job just like a receptionist or if it's just depends on what the day brings. I work at a spa and I never know when I'm off because the appointments are made so randomly.

    • @KristinaGonzalez
      @KristinaGonzalez  Před 7 lety

      +Karina Flores Massage Envy mostly pays by commission. When it slows down if your commission is less than what you would have made hourly then you'll get hourly pay which is usually jusy minimun wage. I have never been paid hourly because usually my commission is more. Each Massage Envy does it a little different so you'll want to ask the manager/owner during your interview how the pay scale works. I have learned with doing Massage 5 years is to never expect the same paycheck every 2 weeks because its not that type of business. Being flexible and saving your money will get you far in this industry. During the busy season I make very very good money but I also have to remember it's not like that all year round. Getting clients to rebook with you is the number 1 way to insure a steady paycheck because even when its slow you've got your requests. Hope that helps!

      I love doing massage but the work is not always stable unless you work hard to build a clientele. I'm working on starting the RN program. I'd like to work as an RN and use massage as a side job. I'd like to do massage when I want and not rely on it as my only source of income.
