  • In this episode we give the 1965 Ford F350 dually flatbed a good cleaning to get rid of years of dirt and grime. We also crack open the brakes to see what needs to be replaced and fix a sticky accelerator pedal!

I wouldn't say it's disgusting. Crusty, for sure, since the floor pans will need "a bit" of work.
Happy New Year, with many Blessings to you and your family.

Love to see young ones working on vehicles. But hate to see the poor techniques being used.

@steelisthemeal that's why I love seeing them start young. That way, they can make mistakes and learn from it. So when they grow up, they'll know better.

You can always coat it now with something oily like Sweet Patina products to keep her looking good without more oxidation. I've never seen a single piston wheel cylinder before. Must get some mechanism that pivots the back shoe when it presses on the front one?

We haven’t either. We’ve only ever seen dual piston. But we aren’t automotive gurus either! lol

On that break master cylinder make sure that it has a twin piston setup one reservoir the front brakes and one reservoir for the back brakes. There was a big flaw in the early years with only one reservoir and one cylinder and if anything goes wrong you completely lose your brakes. So make sure it has a front and rear Reservoir dividing the front brakes and the rear brakes into two separate circuits. It's a fairly simple upgrade there are kits I believe to do it check into it before you ever drive that thing. Manual transmission you can always gear down and use the emergency brake to stop it in the event you lose the brakes but that's something people have always done with these old American cars when they have a single cylinder system is to upgrade them to a twin in the name of safety. Tell an auto mechanic that and he'll know what you're talking about. And please please paint that truck, I don't believe in patina I think that's hogwash cuz somebody doesn't want to go out and get a bucket of paint and paint it. Single stage enamel you guys can handle that. You can always wet sand out your mistakes and polish it.
