Here at Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy, we pride ourselves on taking on some of the most difficult songs to sing in all of rock and pop history.
Often times, we find ourselves revisiting the same iconic vocalists over and over because they showcase the bar that has been set for quality singing and it gives us an opportunity to see how we measure up with different KTVA vocalists to prove out the KTVA method.
Next up is Gabbi Gun taking on Ann Wilson and the band Heart with their song Barracuda!
It's no secret that Ann is considered to be one of the greatest female rock vocalists that has ever lived, so we are honored to put our hat in the ring and give it a shot!

It seems effortless, but we all know it's not. Well Done Gabbi!!!. To sing a Heart song requires crazy skill. This performance is testament to the Ken's ability as a teacher and mentor.
Ken can provide the knowledge and tools but you still have to put in a lot off work and this young lady has put in the work

It helps one to appreciate even ore the natural talent of someone like Ann Wilson and others in her day who just went out there and laid it all out. Those that later who were coached extended their careers but those that didn't ruined their voices - great job with your students

Reliable Instrument = Confidence = Freedom. So clear-so powerfully. Because her instrument works so well, she doesn’t have to compromise her artistic ideas that are in her head, it allows her to do every single musical choice that she wants. Therefor, she doesn’t have to sacrifice her true artistic ability due to a broken voice. She doesn’t have to settle for a lesser choice, she can just feel at complete ease to perform. What I wouldn’t give for that peace of mind.

Heart is a favorite, sentimental band of mine that I grew up on/cut my teeth on so, any singer who attempts to cover a classic number of the Wilson sisters had better know what they're doing. Wow, Gabbi Gun did it justice. I'm truly blown away. I'd love to hear her tackle "Magic Man" next. Beautiful job!
