Thanks for posting the most beautiful part of Sohar, the Cornish. A lot of people in the West don't realise the blessing of being in such calm, relaxing environment as this part of the world where for me personally I prefer it over living at any western city. If I get the chance of returning back to Sohar I'll I'll do it without hesitation. Sohar lifestyle is like meditation for me - sort of.

Thanks for your kind words. I absolutely love the versatility of the corniche. You can go for a swim in the morning and enjoy the all the activity at night.

Hi Gulnar, I am not an agent. I am going to copy below part of a message I sent about a month ago regarding finding a property in Muscat. The same advice goes for Sohar.
In summary - drive around an look for vacant signs and call the landlord/property manager. If that is not possible, have a look in OLX (www.olx.com.om/en/)
Let me know if you have any more questions.
      ---
My first recommendation to finding a place to live in Muscat would be to drive around. Most buildings will have a sign if they have vacancies with a number to call. When you see a place you like, pull over and call the number. Often, there will be a watchman who can show you the flat immediately. In this way, you are getting a feel for the area and can check buildings that you like (and look well maintained).
The second recommendation would be to check OLX (www.olx.com.om/en/) that is the go to online site for Oman. You can search for properties as well as cars, furniture, sporting goods, etc. When you speak with an agent about a listing, if it is not suitable, you can ask or they will advise if they have anything else on their books. From there you can get to see other properties.

Whats the daily rent of your flat?... Are you renting it out?

This is not my flat. My friend was living there. She when back to her home country for an extended period so was looking to rent it out. She decided not to return to Oman. She was paying OMR 250 per month. I can get contact details of the landlord if you are interested. However, I think they will only want to rent it long term not on a daily basis.

Sorry for the delay in responding. You can find unfurnished, partially furnished and furnished flats. Most (I'd say 90%) are unfurnished or partially furnished. Unfurnished usually means there are no appliances - no cooker, no oven, no refrigerator, no washing machine, no dishwasher. Partially furnished usually means it comes with some appliances but maybe not all. Furnished apartments are pretty expensive so I usually would not recommend that unless you are planning to stay less than 2 years. Otherwise, it's cheaper to get partially furnished and buy furniture. There are lots of people coming and going all the time so used furniture is easy to find (via Facebook Marketplace or Olx). Let me know if you have more questions.
