I wish I lived closer or that you lived closer to where I live. Your videos are useful, informative, and provide a real service to people. Footwear is very important to maintaining healthy walking.
Still A Great Channel Great Work! Didn't about The Mirror shine until I viewed your hard and how you explain . the process. Awesome Work. 👍🏼👍🏼✌️Thank You
Did you know i almost buy a pair of CNES shoes but after watching this video i have to give Timber Lee III aka Hephaetus shoes a shot.
Funny things is mr Thanh Le store are just 5km from my house :D
After meisure my feet, choose leather, sole, stingching, etc...I choose to make a black oxford with museum calf and alligator leather combine
Waiting them to arrive at 21th September. Thank you for recommend Timber Lee III shoes maker to community mr Soto
P/s: Me and Thanh Le are same age kkkk
Please share pics when you get them. CNES looks like a good quality shop, but Timber Lee III shoes have unbridled passion along with great quality.
A great episode. Well said!
Another great video! We love it!!! 🤩👏🏻 keep it up!!
🎉🎉 BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Wish you were coming to san diego
Guess I just need to buy 2 of them and put one on display 😂
What do you think about Barker’s Indiana boot? I have a pair and they are very comfortable.
I was taught to use Mink Oil to condition the leather on a shoe or boot. Curious what your thoughts are?
Are their any shoes you would know of that are not cow leather that can still shine just as good?
Wholly cow!
Those are surely a beautiful pair of wearable artworks. Really enjoyed this video, Preston! Who knew that musing on shoe appreciation could be so poetic and bordering on philosophical? (Well, you did obviously, but... ).
I've just checked out this maker's wares on their site and it all seems to be extremely affordable for the level of quality represented. I think I may end up giving a pair a whirl at some point! (And then yes, probably subsequently lamenting their first wear when taking them off and inspecting the sole... before ultimately embracing their impermanence!)
Do you have any additional recommendations please, Preston, for other 'hidden gem' affordable / emerging shoemakers offering high-end design features like fiddlebacks etc. but at a similarly 'shaking up the market' price point?
I'm in the process of trying to steadily expand my shoe collection at the moment, but within my means, so these kinds of makers I think are probably just what I should be looking at. Presently the gaps in my collection are a good pair of plainish black calf captoe Oxfords, mid-brown calf penny loafers, burgundy cordovan penny loafers, burgundy derbys, generally anything two-tone / spectator (new minor obsession), and I think that's about it. My preferences are for subtle / understated designs and details (not usually too much brogueing etc.), fairly elongated lasts, and chiselled-y / almond toes. Oh and I seem to be into split toes and apron seams at the moment from what I can tell. (I think possibly something about tastefully breaking up that sparser forepart of the shoe, helping to keep everything balanced and proportionate, while keeping things understated and minimal... just as a guess, since we're on the topic of pondering a shoe's aesthetic appeal. All I really know for sure though is that they say something to me!)
Does anyone spring to mind please that could possibly fit the bill without making a traditionally-sized dent? Cheers!
I ordered a pair from Timber Lee over a year ago - when they came, the black calf had an overly glossy shine on it that looked like plastic and creased horrendously. I stripped it with acetone, and the underlying calf had a red-burgundy undertone that was visible in sunlight, so I had to dye my black shoe black. It was just a bit weird.
That said, this is a shoe maker with a very strong reputation, and the shoes are excellently made. But I was confused by some of the choices.
That’s really interesting to hear. If you still have the shoes, I’d love to see them. Email me at theelegantoxford@gmail.com so we can discuss what leather was used because it definitely sounds like a horror story.
@@TheElegantOxford Thanks for your interest! I still have the shoes - actually, I'm hoping to unload them at the London Super Trunk show.
It wasn't so bad in practice, it's black calf so there was no risk in anything I did, and the shoes look pretty reasonable now.
I had a worse, similar experience with the burgundy calf on Bridlen's founders line - apparently covered with a thick, plastic-like shine that showed scuffs and refused to permit any pigmented polish. I had these ridiculous discolored regions on the toe that I was unable to correct until I stripped everything with RenoMat, then started iteratively re-coloring with burgundy and black cream polish.
I can send an email on maybe Saturday with some images and video of both.
Have you ever had the chance to check out Ugo Vasare shoes?
I bought dubbin wax, is it ok to use on my dress shoes? And will I be able to get a good shine from it?
Where i can buy this shoes
I have a question lolol I just mirrored shine my shoes with all neutral lotion and wax. However one toe is darker than the other. Why did this happen and how can I fix it? @The elegant Oxford
I don’t know what I’m doing wrong, but no matter what I do; I can’t even get a simple mirror shine on my oxfords, let alone a glass appearance like your shoes. I even followed your previous mirror shine guides on the channel exactly to the last second! Do you think you might know what the problem is? 🤷🏻♂️
Hey Levi. I can’t know what the exact issue might be without seeing it in person since there are a lot of things that could go potentially wrong but if you email me, when can troubleshoot it.
Any plan to buy a pair from siroeno yosui ?
Not at the moment but I’ll look into it for sure.
Preston ... Come to Los Angeles and do a Shoe Shine Class. There's plenty of Men here wearing Fine Footwear. Maybe you can do it at the Allen Edmonds store at the Century City Plaza. Wishful Thinking 🙏🏽 ...
Hey Robert! I did an event at AE Costa Mesa last year but LA is definitely a possibility! I’ll keep you posted.
Nice episode , at how much please
How do I send you a pair of my shoes for work?
Preston. Robert again 😀. Do you have Ivan Ramos's website or link to Tap into? I'm highly interested in purchasing his Brass Toe Plates. That's again 🙏🏽
Hey Robert. Here’s his email: Ivan@toetapsbyivan.com
Are you ever going to come to NY
That will probably be our next class, but it hasn’t been scheduled yet.
A nice shoe. But I just can’t get into that toe.
I’m gunna look up and see if they’ve got something that catches my eye
Your Wear or You Wear?
Great catch! Thanks
Preston, Robert again😀. Where can I get those Beautiful Brass Toe Plates you put on them AE Spectators. I believe you said a friend of yours Ivan Ramos is making them ? You have a link or website I can tap in on ? I'd really appreciate it. Thanks again🙏🏽 ...
Love the class but I might be interested in an Orange County class. It appears unless otherwise advised, Timber Lee III, shoes while beautiful, are not my size 13+ as they seem to top out @ 10.5
Great video man, and can’t wait to hang out in Chicago!
Can’t wait!
What a great value! I live 25 miles away from Chicago. i will be in Europe on the 18th, otherwise i would be there .
Next stop Vancouver, BC please.
Huh weird I swear I just commented, anyways as I said before, these shoes are absolutely stunning and are making me debate if I should get these instead of a lightly used pair of Gaziano & Girlings. Any idea where I could investigate further on getting a pair myself?
I don’t know why but CZcams is not letting me see comments.
Contact Than on instagram and tell him I sent you at Timber Lee III
Absolutely stunning
Do one in socal if possible. I would like to go to one of these master classes
We had one in San Diego but we will definitely try to do another in the near future. Wish you could come to Chicago!
Wow these shoes are stunning! Was looking to maybe get a pair of slightly used Gaziano & Girlings but now that I’ve seen these I might have to get a pair of these for myself! (Where can I find one?)
Thanks for watching. He has a website, but you could probably contact Than through Instagram and tell him I sent you.

@@TheElegantOxford I just checked them out… are you telling me these are only $400! If I do end up getting a pair I’ll definitely contact them and tell them you sent me! It appears not all the shoes have that amazing artwork of a sole though, do you know what the name of the model you have is?
@@ireiaand I don’t the name exactly but if you ask Than, he can let you know.
@@TheElegantOxford Just sent him an email! Might see if I can get a pair of custom brown half brogues with a cap toe, they just all look spectacular, too many to choose from!
@@ireiaand he has a lot of great options. I’ll tell him you emailed him
