Cool. Now I need to get a masters degree and three years of professional experience by April 2nd.
😂😂😂
Least they didnt specify which year. . .
Skillshare according to CZcams 😂
i believe in you 👍🏻
not that difficult, don't be lazy.
At least the requirement didn't asked for 10 years of experience working as an astronaut
😂
cs major moment
I get high as a Kite every night. Does that count?
@@thanosianthemadtitanic that's called being a junkie
@@CyrusTheVirus187 Nah, he has plenty of experience sending himself to outer space

😂🎉🎉
I almost applied until I heard "must be willing to travel", gonna have to decline, but Tnx anyway NASA
lol like they would even consider you.

Yeah I wanna be a astronaut from home too😂
Is there a remote work option?
soon
Soon, after robots take over. You can control the robot from your home.
Earth launch watcher
Yeah, you can work remotely in space
I though that's the job of those who would be working with the launch site back from Earth/HQ to those who will be in space.
Remember guys, 5 years past experience in space to apply 👵🏽
They never said this lol. 😂
no
But they never even been to space or to the moon ahhaha
nope just experience in flight/pilot related activities.

@elck3 when your corny jokes don't work, ahhaha
this is why i joined the air force and am going for a dual masters degree in engineering and physics. a chance at going far like this.
Now you just need to commission (if you haven't already) and get those flight hours up!
Godspeed, soldier
Just work at Burger King, man. It's easier
@@pro-socialsociopath769 💀i'd rather not live in a trailer park
Are you getting your degree through afit? I'm working on my bachelor's right now and want to try and get my master's once I'm in the big air force through afit for the same reason
There’s a current graduate who was a Navy Seal, with a degree from Harvard Medical School….that’s the competition you’ll be going up against…
He was the first time I heard if anyone with those qualifications. You're saying there's more like him applying? Anyway Neil Armstrong's qualifications were also incredible.
Jonny Kim?
@@HighlordFrancis sounds like him but hasn't he already been selected and training for one of the Artemis missions?
People think they go to the army to learn but in real life they go there to be degraded, manipulated ,disrespected , broke down then they throw in plastic stars to make you feel like you've done something but all the people are doing is being brainwashed to become dogs short story long
Isn’t he also an engineer and a pilot or something crazy
Only 150k a year?! Jesus, that’s brutal.
Well, the benefits are out of this world though
@@jappleng8283 Literally 😂
They probably want people who are passionate and ain't really there for the money.
You can become an airline pilot and make 400k.not worth it
@@edwinbundimuriithi Pilots don't normally make anywhere near that. It takes at least 10 years of experience and a lot of flight hours to get $200k/yr. It's also quite competitive so GL with that. But if you do make it, you can make $500k+ but very uncommon.
Willing to travel ✅ Question for HR, though: do I get millage points? 🤔
Also, what about hazard pay???
So many miles if your circling around the earth 😂
More like mileage reimbursement
per diem?
If you’re only going through up, that’s not many miles 😂😂😂😂
George Santos should be one top of that list.
That could be a whole movie.....
George Santos......IN SPACE!!!
Armegeddon Remake....starring George Santos
...Deep Santos....
Him and hunter biden, hunter will bring supply’s that will make time fly 😂
He wouldn't be able to fool NASA
You forget, he was already an astronaut and completed three flights to the ISS
Funny
Do they have applications for part time Astronauts too? Looking to moonlight in the moonlight
Super reasonable requirements. Talk about a dream job!
Is this on indeed?
Waiting for the inter-planetary resident spot instead 😆
Sadly I’m not Matt Damon
How about this NASA? I don't have a Masters, but if you fund me, I'll get one.
Or, better yet, I'll take 60k a year and do the job for cheap as long as you train me.
Sounds good?
I would've thought that they would've gotten paid a lot more. This is clearly for the love the job.
Good luck applicants!
That’s why they are looking for applicants with “The Right Stuff”
It always is
Well we sure don't fund Nasa all that much compared to other programs. About 0.48% of our national budget is what Nasa is been given lately.
I would do it for free tbh
I would do it
Busy this weekend not sure I can get my resume turned around by the 2nd. Will have to pass
Sounds like requirements for any entry level position
You already know I'm not going up there. Its literally no where to run or go if something go down.
LOL
Well, I have always wanted to be an astronaut.
My father was a Ph.D. In electrical and aerospace engineering so when I grew up we lived in Houston, TX during Gemini and Apollo and then in Florida during shuttle missions to name a few things he did, excluding civil service to the military.
I Graduated from Duke University in 1982 (Chemistry/Psychology), a medical degree in 1993, nearly 30 years as a Navy Family physician, retiring in 2021.
So my age this year will be 64 in August, still in good shape.
I believe that age limits will be my downfall.
What do you think?
You have led an esteemed and prolific life, you should be proud. I think you might be able to work for NASA but given your age you are probably indeed too old to be an astronaut even if everything else was in line.
Perhaps apply still and you’ll be given an opportunity to work alongside astronauts ?
This comment is the same as your resume, all a lie
If this comment isn't a lie, go for it. There's no harm in trying, even if you feel the chances are low.
@@RandoHooman why would it be a lie? There are people out there who go and get it
Those Kubrick films were pretty cool. Let’s see if we can actually get to the moon !
Thanks 👍💯 your a stud too
where is the application link?
I currently sail and work on cargo ships that move cargo around the world, let me know when you need help moving cargo between planets and moons
Sounds like they’re having the same problem as the airline industry. It’s too expensive to get into that field. And that amount of income won’t pay off that student debt. I mean, it’s not just flight hours we’re dealing with.
But nobody wants to talk about this...👀
At least it doesn’t ask for a cover letter.
I don't meet those requirements age is one of my problems and fear of high places is another.
😁
At least if you fall, you’ll burn up in the atmosphere. Lol
If it's any consolation, Space is so far out there that there is no such thing as "high" or "low" nor "up" nor "down" without a spherical object as a reference point.
@@RobertJohnson-hp4gzIt's a long fall from space.
Confident is also a job killer
where are they traveling to? if it's the grand canyon distance, ok fine. but if it's far as another country... i'm going to have to pass. i'm not really a fan being stuck in a metal tube for too long
Hello, I want to ask that how a doctor can be an Astronaut? Guidelines are very much needed! 😢
How can i get this application & when do I leave?
No one can fly in the open firmament except He who was sent down and He who died and rose to heaven. A walk on the moon is a walk in the desert.
Bruh what if it was on April 1st 💀
Already failed the first requirement 😭
It is a great thing to hear of the requirements 👍🏽
UND aerospace is also involved with some NASA research projects.
Seems like any airline pilot with a masters can be eligible, tho with the application numbers, there’s gotta be more than just those requirements
Its specifically fixed wing jet hours for the pilot, so normal airline pilots could only apply for mission specialist.
Well there's the part of getting selected among a gazillion candidates for a handful of positions.
Those are the requirements to apply - many times astronauts are extremely educated (MD/PhD) and come with military experience (air force) in addition.
How many airline pilots actually have a master's degree? Most have a bachelor's, at maximum. Even if they had a master's, that's just eligibility. In reality, NASA is probably looking specifically for an airforce pilot, just as they always have.
There are rigorous physical and mental requirements. For instance, you have to go in a centrifuge, and show that you don't become incapacitated, and are still able to function mentally whilst doing so. Also the teamwork and leadership requirements, and personality traits are tested and evaluated continuously.
I’d need more than a $150k to take on that job.
Then you are definitely not the right candidate
They always lowball people who deserve more.
A masters STEM degree can get you an average of like 120k-300k salary in most of US.
Astronaut salary tops out at 140k for seniors… why on earth would people apply for this job other than if you REALLLY wanna leave the planet”
You get to leave the planet
It's the priceless experience and recognition that comes with being an astronaut
@@valmiro4164 I got a job offer from Blizzard to work on world of Warcraft.

Can I do part time? I currently work full time at Walmart, looking for a 2nd job.
I'm a Canadian, but I'm gonna apply anyway. I have a strong feeling they'll be impressed by my forklift license👍
GOALS!!!!
How would anyone think you could ever be a part-time astronaut?
That might be possible in the future. Wake up one morning, fly to space, upgrade some machinery, then come back home in time for the game.
Seasonal maybe
remote maybe
I've got 5,000+ hrs in Star Citizen, does that count?
150K seems very low for the risk associated with it
Should be at least 250k or a quarter million dollars 💵 a year in my opinion
So cool ☺️
I’m a commercial pilot without a college degree. Can I sit jump seat?
The real requirements are, 1. Be able to lie continuously 2. Know how to be a good actor 3. Know how to swim well in a pool.
That's dumb. They would have put those in the requirements. Duhh
Yeah I'm sure the tens of thousands of astronomers that exist are all part of this grand conspiracy to stop the population from learning that the Earth is flat. They probably all meet up together once a year and dance around a Flat Earth model.

Yep. You have a less than zero chance, so it’s all good.
@@BigHeadAvenger LOL, you would actually disagree and take offense to someone saying it's good that they have high standards to recruit astronauts? That's crazy.
@@VoteForBukele LOL, are you mad you can't become an astronaut with your high school diploma and your 10 year career as a Walmart cashier?
Unless you’re a multimillionaire and you can get a seat to travel to space and at some point to the moon with Lunar Resort bases if that happens.
150 grand a year, and no where to to spend it in space
I would love to visit space someday! Problem is... I'm too stupid to be an astronaut. lol

Waaw look at the inside of that orion capsule. You kinda see where all the engineering talent went!! Space X does look more comfortable and safe.
Why are office job requirements harder than this
They need to make an advertising video like Helldivers 2😂
Thats if they needed a lot of people to join lol which they dont
They need to make a nasa commercial with Saul
Could apply in a few years....
Problem with the goverment agency when it's hard they doesn't even want to try it. Like back then someone suggest they can use reusable rocket but they stop that idea and they say it's hard etc.
Figured you would at least need a phd, would be intresting seeing what degrees the ones selected have.
I'm sure all the people who stacked degrees for fun and know a guy on the inside are ecstatic.
Welp, im a guy stacking degree but im not american and dont know anyone on the inside :/
Ya I'm out due to not qualifying due to heart issues
Where do I apply?
Russel Casse walks up…. "I can fly" "Imma pilot"
If DEI you can skip all those requirements.
I'm a highschool drop out making $95k a year doing commercial HVAC-R. Guess I'm not good enough.
Yeah, you're making dough but your job ain't cool though.
@@jonasvalerowhy you gotta let bro down? Unemployment exists but at least he contributes to society💯
You probably wouldn’t be. You’re lucky your job is is high demand and not many other people want to do it for a living because its really not that hard and if more people were entering your field you could potentially be out of a job pretty fast
I have a lot of respect for tradesmen but doing HVAC work has little to no similarity to piloting a rocket let's be real
When you come online to lie you're not good enough
How does one get three years of experience as an astronaut before working for NASA. I swear job requirements these days are ridiculous.
it's professional experience in your field
Pra mim não importa o que é valioso é o magnífico trabalho que eles fazem, NASA 🫶🏾
