- In an exclusive interview with Lester Holt, FAA administrator Michael Whitaker says he believes Boeing is more focused on production than safety amid recent issues with their planes. “There’s nothing wrong with production, but it has to follow safety. Safety and quality has to be the foundation of all of the actors in aerospace system,” he says. NBC’s Tom Costello reports for TODAY.

Boeing killed the whistleblower
The amount of incidents and victims they’ve collected from over the years is disturbing, every time they were ultimately allowed to continue production/flying, with a simple promise they’ll be “safer” next time. Our government leaders are literally allowing this because downing Boeings nationwide would hurt the airline industry financially so our lives are worth the risk to them.
He says the fix for Boeing with the fixes is the Biden White House is doing a shakedown and once they’re cut
Are you saying David Calhoun is responsible ?
Journalists already dropped this. They know the script.
@@RobertJohnson-hp4gznot to mention all the money Boeing lobbied the government with. I think they should be required to change the word lobbying to bribing.
"they want employees to speak up"? they just suicided a whistleblower 😂 lol
Was literally just thinking that
everytime they say the word production, replace it with the word profits
Thats what they mean
But they don’t make profits 🤔
Bigger question is where do the profits end up?
Revelations 13:18
You must think you’re smart lol. That’s the same thing. Focus.
This is literally happening at every company that has shareholders.
That doesn't make it right.
@@MobileDecay correct. But does that stop it?
@LeopardGeckoFry Does what stop it? Speaking out? It's way better than turning a blind eye.
Companies cutting corners to make a profit while putting customer/employee safety in the trash? This isn't new at all since every company does this...
It isnt new, but that it is happening in such a safety-critical industry as the aviation industry, is certainly worth making noise about.
Boeing is the latest target of Joe, Barry and the left, since China is now making a knock off of the 737. What better way to destroy the USA, take down one of the most important companies that exports lots of planes. This is why you are hearing all the negative news about Boeing, even the ridiculous info about a Boeing plane going through an air pocket and descending rapidly, as if that only happened to planes made by Boeing. There's a good chance that Boeing parts are being sabotaged by paid off workers in the various plants. The Chinese, for the most part build garbage, and airplanes need to be perfect, good isn't good enough. The engines are especially hard to manufacture, and the Chinese engines will fail, then you're a passenger on a really big glider.
Nationalize Boeing. Corporate culture always prioritizes profits over quality.
It technically is nationalized- by the same bought & paid for politicians that have stakes in Boeing
Sure! Let Biden run Boeing. You’re a genius! Oh what about when Trump wins. Will you want him running Boeing? No. Nationalizing companies is another word for government corruption.
Regulators finally realize what everyone else already knows…
This goes for most major American companies like Ford and GM they prioritize profits over everything else including your safety.
Planes leaving safe? But no safety culture? Amazing journalism! Why not ask a follow up?
When I saw this interview last night I was screaming at this failed journalism. How can you say that the planes are safe when these incidents are happening while simultaneously saying there is a lack of safety culture at Boeing? The FAA is just as concerned about Boeing’s stock price as Boeing is.
@@xplayman These clown journalists turned the horable craft into giggly- entertainment!
@@xplayman What incidents? There was only one incident with the Alaska Airlines flight.
@@erauprcwaThere were more
@@zuwenaw Several years ago and that issue was fixed.
Wow! What a breakthrough finding !
Is this a subliminal ad for Boeing?
It’s not that employees don’t see and don’t say. It’s the big guys just wants to play their own game. Less spending on quality and wants to getting more stuff out of the doors.
No they prioritize profits over everything
Culture of the leadership. The employees want to do it right!
Thanks Boeing ! Now Airbus is numéro Uno
It’s ironic untied airlines was founded by Boeing
I'm personally still gonna ride with United them and Delta are my go to. They just need to fire whoever at the SFO maintenace team
@@YoFrost yeah, I was talking with a buddy of mine about that, it’s definitely a airport(united staff) issue more than anything. Each one came from SFO
@@NotAJosh I work for an airline, there's a lot of inexperienced aviation mechanics that were hired in the past few years across the whole industry.
@@jerem101888 While that may be true, it is singularly United that's had nine incidents in two weeks.
Corporations in America mostly act this way
💯
If you see something say something, so you can be asked to stay for an extra day of deposition and disposed of too.
lol sounds like the former CEO stepping down changed nothing. They have to clean out the board of directors. All of them need to be fired with no severance package. Nothing will change until they are ALL gone.
How does the FAA know? They don't even have footage of the Alaska Airlines plug door repair prior to the incident.

Really FAA? NOOOOWWWW YOU GOT TO KNOW THIS. GREAAAAAAT
An updated version of PBS Frontline's _Boeing's Fatal Flaw_ reveals an insidious situation - and dropped last week.
It’s greed above all.
If it’s Boeing I ain’t going!
shocking statement...FAA realizes this hundreds of lives later
FAA needs to remove Boeings self inspection authority.
Simple huh?😂
If you see something say something, then oops u “killed” yourself
If you see something say something... 💀
Those 747s meant to replaces AF1 ought to be thoroughly reinspected and not by the folks at Boeing
those planes rolling out of Boeing to the airlines ought to be thoroughly reinspected and not by the folks at Boeing
The first few word Dave talked about off the door plug was shareholders. lol if FAA lets Boeing slide then it’ll be right back where Boeing left off. Pushing planes
They also killed a whistleblower
That should really worry everyone esp now whistleblowers are being killed while the company is more concerned about production and profits
Money matters.
more focused on PROFITS than safety
Nice to have DEI hires working on the plane you're travelling in, I don't see any consequence at all
the american public realized this months ago
If you look at all the top corporations, you will see that their focus is all on production over quality. Even tech companies, have you noticed all the bugs in your apps? Amazon is prime example, that's because its quantity over quality. These corporations are greedy af
Include food and pharmaceutical too....I know for a fact
Please say that to all my Boeing stock please lol
How is Boeing stock up today. They should be on a free fall
Buy low sell high...basic stuff😅
They buy it back to keep prices up
Manipulation
Boeing outsourced EVERYTHING. Financial leaders, concerned w/ profit. Almost two weeks after the Alaska Airlines blow-out, it was revealed that the door plug that blew out of the Alaska Airlines plane wasn’t actually produced in Wichita. It was produced in Malaysia, where workers’ concerns about speed of production and quality oversight are appt to have even less impact on their managers than in the United States.
The fact that the Malaysian production of the door plug didn’t come to light until 12 days after the blow-out suggests just how profoundly outsourcing can obscure the public visibility required for corporate a
Brilliant deduction Sherlock...
And the FAA allowed this to happen.
“Culture Change “ anywhere usually needs to start from the top Down. Treat the ones who make your $$ Like Kings & Qweens. Sad to hear a MAJOR business like this is having these issues. That company was looked at as a Top Tier 8-9 yrs ago. Building aircraft has to be a career not a job. Exec’s & Ceo’s come in for few yrs and make a bunch of mess ups and bail out to next job w/o concern for future of the company more and more it seems.
Ya...security and safety controls have been lagging for at least a year.....but you can be confident plane coming off the production line are safe........ya😂

Trust me nobody will speak up now that they murdered someone for it. 😂
I wouldn't be surprised . been with United at SFO since 11/2023 thru 03/2024 they have the WORSE management for our dept. hvac facility maintenance dept.
Don't be deceived by the FAA; they've been aware of this issue for some time but chose not to take action due to a cozy arrangement with Boeing. Now that everything's gone haywire, the FAA suddenly decides it's time to intervene.
ck out Niki Lauda and Laudi Air 004 in 1991, over 30 yrs ago this crap has been going on
The FAA is in bed with Boeing
I will never fly boeing again...
He then committed suicide
If it’s a boeing we will not be going. If even the management of the production facilities don’t want to fly on their own build planes, rebooking their flights, it tells you enough. 😂
If it's Boeing I ain't going!
Boeing problems is a board of director and management that is solely focused on making money at any cost, literally any cost - even your life.
BOEING is?
How about ALL of America????
hahahahahahahahahahahaha
Duh!!!
Maybe they should have used that money on r&d and not avocado toast….
Sad… so many jobs about to be lost…
when a plane company is run by marketer/accountant instead of engineer... focus will be profit instead of safety... plus the guy who spoke against Boeing is dead
They promised us they'd address these culture issues when the Max's crashed. They lied to us & the families of the crash victims. That's what peeves me off the most.
Every FAA n politic hv Boeing stock !
Boeing also cares more about DEI than safety

okay boieng got some ick. but united airlines should be questioned
They don't deserve to get more orders
FAA its all your fault. U cant clean hands like that. U know what your purpose right?
I do not believe any planes now leaving boeing are "safe enough"! I am going with airbus.
Focused on being woke. Stupid media
With Boeing paid employees in FAA, does it HELP ⁉️
Now what happens if the Boeing paid employees are ex Boeing ⁉️🤣
It's Wall Street Greed vs Engineer's Integrity
Check out John Oliver's "Last Week Tonight" YT posting on Boeing, and the culture change after the McDonnell-Douglas merger, where MD execs took over...
More focused on production???
The USA: That's what we're about, making money, is that a surprise to you? Maybe you should move to Mexico.

lol at the FAA pretending they are just finding this out
Could it be the hiring of managers and supervisors and other workers that arent qualified for that position just to satisfy a certain 3 letter term but go figure boeing had 92% of it compared to to then and now but could be multiple coincidental
Get Wallstreet out of the boardroom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nikki: dropped out of the race because of the whistleblower. 2 weeks later after exit, the whistleblower died
Nikki scratches boeing back. And she has said that they built good airplanes while simultaneously lowering the safety standards.
Nikki is corrupted and must be jailed.
I'm from Germany and I would fly on a Boeing - but only if it is a solid older 777 or an 757, 767, 747. All the others made by Boeing are a "no go" for me. The 737 MAX is a desaster!
Completely bad planning, which was at the expense of safety. You should scrap the entire “Max” series. Maybe Boeing should go back to their roots and build safe, reliable aircraft and not always look to Airbus. Nothing is worse than a bad reputation in the business.
Money matters.
