That's excellent! I was proud of the 83mpg with my 1.8 Corolla that I achieved on the 90 mile journey on the day before I traded it in, but yours is remarkable.

I owned a 2018 Yaris which had good economy. I then upgraded to 2022 spec Yaris in December-22 and I very quickly realised that it is a *very* economical car. I knew it would be more economical than my 2018 Yaris but there is really a massive difference and it is noticeable on my monthly fuel bills 😊
For info: the Yaris Cross and the Yaris are number 1 and number 2 in What Car?'s True MPG test.

Your Corolla is a bigger car and you have a bigger engine (1.8 compared to 1.5 in my Yaris) so 83mpg is very impressive.

Hi can you show how to set up the follow me home headlights please. I have an excel model.

Thanks for the comment because I have just learnt something new about my car ... I didn't think my car had got follow me home headlights ... but following your question I have got the owners manual out and I have just learnt that I *have* got follow me home headlights 😊.
I haven't tested this yet but it looks like all you need to do is switch the car off first and then pull on the headlight stalk (as if you were flashing your headlights) and the headlights will then stay on for 30s.
In the owners manual the section is called "Headlamp temporary lighting function" on page 188. It would have been much more helpful if Toyota called the section "Follow me home headlamps" !!!
I will test this tomorrow to see if it does work as per the owners manual. I will then do a quick video. Thanks again 😊

@Horses-n-HelpfulStuff thank you very much. You are very helpful. I also been reading through trying to find the follow me home section but with no luck but after reading your comment now I know why I couldn't find it hehe. Just got my 73 plate toyota Yaris excel in a beautiful scarlet flare colour but love your colour too. Thanks once again for replying 👍

In hindsight I should have gone for Scarlet Flare. I ordered Titan Bronze based on the colour on toyota.co.uk where it looks more of a dark gold-bronze. In real life its more of a grey-bronze. I waited 9 months for the car in the post COVID delays and there was no way I was going to reject the car because of the colour!!!
The colour is growing on me ... the shade of the colour changes in different ambient light. I like the colour now 😀
Enjoy your new car ... I am almost certain that you will find your new car a lot more economical than your old car. I have done this video on the fuel consumption over a period of several months from winter to summer this year.

The titan bronze is absolutely a beautiful colour I have seen a few around 😍 the scarlet flare changes colour too 😀 I ordered mines this year in May 2023 and got it October 2023 so not bad, it was good tracking it down and keeping up to date where it is.. been watching your videos and I love them 😍 as mines is also a excel model so in love with it already 😍 if you learn any new stuff about your car please do post and keep me updated. Totally new to all this technology

I am glad Toyota were able to deliver your car a bit faster than mine ... but you still had to wait a long time for your new car. Hopefully things will get back to normal in 2024. I am glad my videos were enjoyable while you were waiting 😀
I have just recorded footage to make a "follow me home headlights" video. I will edit it and upload it next week some time. If the two of us didn't know how it worked, then I am sure there are other owners who will benefit from watching a short video about it. Thanks again for your question 😀
I have got the heads up display and I really want to make some videos about it but it is very hard to set a camera up to record the HUD's display because it is only visible for the drivers eyes. I really need some glasses with a camera built into them but I will also need prescription lenses in the glasses!
