That glasses moment has me in stitches
The glasses was a weird moment, I mean the white Racing Jackets is how you recognize him in the peloton cause he always wears them and nobody else I know of does. The stage win was fabulous. I got to give it to Ineos, they are quite effective in their tactics.
Kwiato and Sivakov wear white rimmed glasses occasionally I believe

I think its planned in the sense that they planned to be in front going into that corner because it was a dangerous one, but they didn't plan on Thomas having that speed and Kwiato losing the wheel

Ineos finally delivering on their promise of “a new style of racing” from last year’s Giro
G is riding aggressively (He seems to have to continue to prove that HE is the GC guy on Ineos). Ineos neutralized that last wall and rode defensively all day. Only G was smart and aggressive.

Continuing to deliver. They’ve been aggressive in every race I’ve seen. Pidcock through to Hayter to Bernal and now G. Carapaz was outstanding at the Vuelta. Froome in his Sky heyday was an aggressive GC man. A natural racer. Ineos have a duty to win. Jumbo employed exactly the same strategy at the Tour last year.
Craddock would've taken the win if he still had the duck helmet.

Great comment about the jawbones. I can’t think of another rider who has such an obvious visual brand identity. You can always spot G in the peloton

I think G had thought about that hairpin before, but I am not sure he had to let anyone else in on it. K was merely riding the smartest line through the turn. Once you see your teammate come sailing through that turn on the inside, your natural reaction is to just watch - and then let G go.

You missed it but there was footage of Kwiatkowski using the radio seconds before. I noticed it during the live broadcast and smelled something was cooking. That "I'm gonna pull and my teammate behind me lets me go" move, they already tried it with no success in Romandie, with Dennis and Geraint
Sad that i couldnt watch it but seeing it in full speed is just magical. Also you can see the moment kwiato think what the heck is GT doing realizing it and just kinda braking until the apex. So brilliant

Why riders cannot keep riding through the finish line puzzles me Time and time again the start celebrating early and get pipped at the line No one Stops them from celebrating 10 m later and potentially with a win vs embarrassing loss at line G pulled it off but imagine the clips circulating around the world I’d he’d lost. People tend to remember embarrassing losses almost as much as big wins sometimes more

Had the finishline been a little farther Thomas would have lost it. Thomas was a class of his own yet when it comes to sprint in the finish sprinters really counts. Did not realize that after this.

Best cycling analysis/recap show. Period. Full stop. Commentary during races has wildly differing quality depending on the geographic rights. I'm in America...not known for high quality cycling coverage if you follow me..

It was planned, so obviously. Kwiato looking around for Thomas, Kwiato then makes the hairpin slow to give Geraint a gap. It wasnt just magic, easily planned
Valverde, Nibali, Fuglsang, Van Avermaet and Froome should start a new cycling team called "over the hill team".
Or hope that a new GC-jersey gets introduced in stage races, a +35 years veteran jersey, called "the grey jersey"
A lot of the first stages in this years Dauphiné would have been dominated by a Valverde in his prime, but he is done...
