considering migrating over to endeavour from debian stable. Seems like a good distro for tinkering without too easily breaking thing. Any advice for making the transition smoothly?
@@paultapping9510other than getting used to pacman and AUR, you can switch almost immediately. it still uses systemd like Debian, you can choose to use Grub as bootloader on install instead of systemd-boot which is default (I prefer systemd-boot though which is a bit simpler). been 10 monts since I took plunge into EndeavourOS from Linux Mint and been very happy since
I doubt you’ll see this, and even if you do I’ll probably have given up on it already but how in the world did you get your config file to actually have stuff in it? I’ve tried reinstalling everything multiple times and the file is just empty and every time I try and add something I don’t know how to save it.
The hyprland.conf? Make sure you're opening the one in ~/.config/hyprland/hyprland.conf If not, you can copy this one: github.com/hyprwm/Hyprland/blob/main/example/hyprland.conf
@@maxhudotdev that’s my hassle, I have no way of finding the actual .conf file because I just dropped the file you linked into where I thought it would go but it does not seem to ever do anything no matter how many different ways I try to tell the os the look in the file so I can actually change it.
@@maxhudotdev it gave me a list of some files and one is the hyprland config, I think the problem was me not cding into where you told me but the file is still empty. Also thanks for putting up with my bitching and crying
@@maxhudotdev I got it working. Not sure what worked but here's what I've done. - Installed GTK3 and GTK2 (pacman) - Changed SUPER+Q to SUPER+O (changed binding) I suggest you to try first to change the bindings.

dual boot to make sure things work
dont install it in a vm since some stuff just doesnt work in a vm

I havent figured it out but it has do with it running in a virtual machine. It works normally on bare metal. Hope this helps !
