This video is a bit over my head right now. I’ll come back to it later hahaha
Your not the only one 😶
man i was where you were literally 6 months ago, but i've stayed so dedicated and done my study and it all makes sense now, its all just about staying dedicated and then soon all you'll need is the playing ability. what helped me out is all the numbers mean are references to the key note. Best of luck, I hope it makes more sense four weeks after this, you got it!!
@@fr3tbuzz. what did you use for training? online course? private lessons?
@@YtseJuan I've been learning the CAGED system with Bernth's patreon, check him out on youtube, it's metal guitar but same theories and principles and he's a great instructor. His patreon is only $5/month and has tons of content. Ben Eller Guitars is also good too, on youtube as well but I haven't subscribed to his Patreon
@@stephenpayne6956 Thank you for the reply! I will check it out.
Molly is a great teacher and wish she would start her own channel. The way she explains things really sink in to my brain. Thank You Molly
Excellent lesson! Thank you for taking the time to explain it intervalicly , makes a HUGE difference in “internalizing” licks like this for improv
She is a great teacher
This has to be one of the best jazz chords lesson on CZcams. It's very easy to comprehend. I can do many of these chords and I haven't been playing very long.
There's a lot to digest in this lesson. Thank you for sharing this!
Great lesson!
Thanks Jens!
Such high praise to get! haha
Jens is the man. One of the best teachers I've ever had.
Yes Sir
I dont know if I've finally gotten to the point where this stuff makes sense, but watching this has made some of the jazz licks click for me today so thank you!
This is perfect for me for where I am and where I want to go next, thank you for making and sharing.
It all sounds great!
I know nothing about jazz, but she is an AMAZING!!!! Instructor/teacher! She just inspired me to try these licks even I’m not at that level of knowledge of the chords or progressions, but man she explayar so clear and smoothly!
Really enjoyed this.Great explainations and good pace. Jazz was a bit mystifying to me until i watched Emily Remler's lessons on be-bop and latin. This reminds me of that. Great stuff. Thank you.
Such a great lesson - one of the best I’ve seen on CZcams in years.
Thanks Raxel! Molly is a great teacher
I'm new to guitar but really appreciate watching you explain what might as well be physics to me at this time. :)
I feel delighted and enlightened. Very encouraging!
Fantastic! Moves fast but speaks in very clear fret board theory on my level. I may finally learn to play jazz. A ton to unpack here. Thank you!
Thankyou for posting this and for your teaching. For me this is quite complex and will give me months of practice and more. Much appreciated
Thanks again
Love your playing style! Beautiful music with euphoric chords. Outstanding lesson! Thank you!
I've never heard about you, but I love your playing; it's so fluid and effortless!
This is superb keep it coming! Thank you
That was laid out so beautifully. I'm 78 pro guitar player most of my life My first teacher dropped me because he said he had nothing left to teach me. My closest alternative was 60 miles away ( I lived in the country) I dicovered the Mickey Baker Book and quite by accident Wes Montgomery.I played Rock a Billy at the time. Although I know most of what you're doing and do a lot of it myself, It seemed to take me a life time. Played with stars of the 60s and 70s cuz I raised 4 familys and almost drank myslef out of the business. Fortunately I have a fair bass baritone voice and can sing most of the songs from the 30s thru the mid 50s. Takes some pressure off of not having the same chops anymore.
My gloal was to be a great jazz guitarist. but I'm happy.
I wish you all the luck in the world. You are undoutebly one of easiest teachers to follow I've ever seen (with all due respect to Jens Larson)
You make it look so easy! Thanks for sharing these tricks.
Such a great player and teacher - thank you
Excellent lesson!
The explanations are really helpful.
Thanks.
Great playing and well explained! Thank you!
Thanks! You move just fast enough to keep my attention! I’m mostly a ear player and get bored easily. Good stuff!
This is great.
I consider myself an average Practicing Guitarist.
I've been practicing since 1974!
That said, this lesson is great in that it is breaking it down into easily digested bits and portions.
Thank You Miss Miller and thank you Pickup Music.
A fine presentation. Thorough and complete. Thx.
Great lesson! This took a lot of things I "know" and put them into a very useable package. Love the combination of many different techniques in this lesson. It's great at integrating chordal and melodic concepts into beautiful lines and textures. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I'm so happy CZcams put your channel on my radar. Great stuff!
Molly Miller you are the best teacher as you never waist any time. You get to the point 👌🎶🎸

Perfect pacing on the lesson, really nice camera angle too
Great teacher, great tone, great lesson... Gotta say, Emily Remler is one of my favorite players ever, so it makes me super happy to see a lady playing great jazz on a 335!
Awesome!!!!
I can play that. Wow. Totally unpacked so much just in that one lesson. Thanks
I'm a blues player but I really enjoyed this. I liked the 'blues face', obvious tell of a true musician! I'll have a go at these...some day!
mollys voice helps me fall asleep i use this channel instead of light rainfall in the rocky mountains cd. 10 minutes and i am snoring..
My mind blew right at the 2'40" mark. Will keep working on this until I get proficient. Thanks Dr. Miller!

One video I didn't know I needed
This is such a great lesson. There is so much theory covered in this video, yet she explains it really well! She deserves a pay rise!!
Great video! Lick 10 was my fave
Molly you are unreal that is just class u were born to teach guitar 🎸 my god Thanks !!! Brian from Ireland 🇮🇪 👍
Thanks for watching Brian!
This is really a great lesson.
That was AMAZING
wow, amazing knowledge
Wow, amazing stuff. So we’ll explained. From a guy just getting back into guitar, thank you 🙏
Hello Molly! Wonderful - not just technical exercises, but real beautiful music! Thank you for inspiration!
Andreas from Bremen North Gemany.
Thanks for watching Andreas 🙌
Thank you very much. When creating tension within the structure, are you thinking of leaving the key or simply creating tension against it?
As an example, I often irritate myself when playing by deliberately removing tension in favour of a rounded melody, if that makes sense? So I'm trying to understand more about how tension is employed and why. I understand that tension can create movement, but it often sounds tense enough for me to actively avoid it, sonically speaking, rather than entertain it and move with it.
Thanks again! My very best to you.
Love that guitar..very nice
Excellent!
As silly as my comment may sound, that voice and those tasteful green nails are a huge added value to such a precious lesson. With sincere admiration.
Amazing!
Omg. lightbulb. Even from the title. Thanks a lot for the lesson
This woman is amazing. Great lesson.
You had me at not playing the bass note.
Great player.
I’m a bass player and really wish people would stay off the bass.
I’m starting to play guitar leaving the bass notes off.
One example is B m7 b5 to E7 b9 is one note different. Leaving bass off.
It’s hard but not playing bass notes is worth it.
I’ll start checking t this video out. It is great!!
Love your playing!
Yep the guitar and bass relationship is very important, when it comes together right then you can really feel it!
Great lesson Mollie, Look forward to a concert in Austin TX from you.
🙌
This was on my recommendation, got to say i am not disappointed
I've become a much better guitarist thanks to CZcams's rockin' algorithm
advanced! great.
This video is so good.
Where have I been? You are an amazing teacher and I love your music. Stoked to be aware of your work.
Welcome to the Molly Miller fan club 👋
Well explained
This woman is a boss, people. Mad love Molly!
True that!
Fantastic guitarist
She can play and communicate. Dr. Molly Miller with respect.
Killer playing, and great communication.
Wow a JAZZ teacher, you must know what you're talking about. I've never heard of some of these chords but they sound beautiful. Thank you.
really good teacher
I hit like 20 seconds in because it’s Dr. Molly Miller and her 335. But then the lesson was amazing.
Great lesson, Molly! Thx!! Are you holding the pick backwards, using the round edge?
I feel you. It’s starting to make sense to me though
Hey that's great to hear! 🤘
Nice licks. Chords sound so good when you play them. Would this be the same as chord melody like Carole Kay? Or this is different as this uses caged?
jesus i need more videos like this
Could very well be a rift a video. Thanks for the lesson. Playing it in my head.
Such chosen licks...
Such a great lesson and such fantastic playing! I really enjoyed that. I have a quick question about her guitar: What does the second switch on her 335 do? I'm assuming one is the standard pickup selector switch, but is the second switch for coil splitting?
Yes its for coil splitting
So helpful! Thank you for this lesson! ❤️
Molto interessante. Bravissima
HUGE audio pop at 30:22 and it cuts out for a bit before another pop then comes back. P.s. Thanks for the awesome lesson!
Thanks for that! :) We were making popcorn...
Scared the crap out of my dog lol
She is incredibly knowledgeable.
